The slightly eccentric eating and cooking adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi Helen-With the amount I've examined the sign, I feel like a forensic writing specialist  Perhaps they should go by both names!

hmmmm.... you make a very strong case and yes, further scrutiny of the font makes me think it probably IS montagne. argh, i will have to untrain myself, and yes, how strange too that everyone else calls it montague. what to do!

Hi Helen-That description sounds fantastic-I'll have one in every colour!

I'm not quite sure, we thought it was Montagne Bleue as it means "Blue Mountain" in French and the image in the logo is a blue mountain but it seems that everyone else thought the same as you from searching google as there are numerous references to "Montague Bleue" but only one to "Montagne Bleue"! Although neither shows up on whitepages.com.au. Very hard to read writing indeed.

oh yes the tart is fantastic. thin crisp shell, a pillow of fake cream and a beehive of chestnut string on top.

ps is it montague or montagne bleue? all this time i've called it montague bleue. the font is very tricky to read!

Hi Popeye-sounds perfect for a birthday cake no? ;) Perhaps they sell it by the slice and you could try a slice first.

Hi Helen-the chestnut tart sounds like a definite must try. There's something so appealing about a mountain-like pile of sweetened chestnut puree!
