The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

This is a favourite haunt of ours, from when we lived walking distance down Hampden Rd. I find the Ramen broth a lot cleaner than some of the other ramen joints around town, and I always have the Nori Shio Ramen (soup base with extra seaweed) and my husband usually has the chilli teriyaki. It's nothing flash, and the ambience leaves a little to be desired, but the queue's never long, the food tastes fresh. Unlike some (saltier and thereby possibly yummier) ramen meals, we always leave feeling like we've had a healthy, yummy, satisfying meal. We rarely get the gyoza, so can't comment there, but the Japanese curry is quite famous and that's on our usual rotation.

Hi bec-I totally understand fighting over the Katsu curry-I considered eating all of the cutlet myself but restrained as I didn't want to get into "trouble" I'll try the takana fried rice next, thanks for the rec!

Hi kim-Hehe that's what we thought. Driving there, the streets were all quiet and then suddenly there was this large lit restaurant full of people!

Who knew Artarmon was so cosmopolitan on a Sunday night!?! Things have clearly changed since I lived in that neck of the woods.
