The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi,

Great recipe, but I would suggest using some greaseproof paper to push down the crispies once they are in the tin. They don't stick to it and you can really push them down properly. :)

Hi Helen-I haven't had chocolate crackles in years (probably over 20 years!) but we did have fairy bread over Christmas and that was rather nostalgia inducing. Ahh yes I think a spoon or tool would be easier than latex clad hands!

Yums. I was just thinking about chocolate crackles the other day. I remember the rice bubble box used to come with a recipe very similar to this, using marshmallows. From memory I would use a metal spoon or spatula to flatten everything down.

And C&W hot chocolate flakes? I am so very envious!

Hi Popeye-Oh no! perhaps you got a dud batch? :(

Hi Ms Polka-I think plain white marshmallows would suit these better than the strawberry. Wow, bare hands! :D

Hi Alexandra-Definitely so, anything that reminds of childhood sweets can only be a good thing!
