The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

I'd like to recommend another korean BBQ buffet. Its in Belfield at the old Pizza Hut on the corner on Water St. They have a lot of other dishes other than just meat so you get quite a wide variety. In terms of the meat, like you said, the non-marinated ones taste a bit bland after eating the marinated ones... which is why koreans will start off with all the unmarinated ones first, then after a few rounds of that go for the marinated ones. Rule of thumb, you don't mix the 2 on the grill at the same time. And yes, the salt, pepper and sesame oil is how you eat the non-marinated ones. Madang on Pitt St in the city isn't a buffet but one of the most popular korean bbq's around.

Hi Julia-They must've learnt from some feedback and improved things. I personally love the meat but also like salads and the option of hot food as well. Ahh ok, that's probably why I didn't like it as much as the marinated meat as we didn't have that salt, pepper and sesame oil mix! Thanks :)

i love this place too!!
i went there in 2004? well back then it wasnt very pleasing, there was no variety or salads and hot foods. but since 2005 july the new owners sure did a great job! its one of my favourites!! the unmarinated meat like the pork and beef you have to have them with salt, pepper and sesame oil mix sauce. i always eat it like that, try it next time its great!
