The slightly eccentric eating and cooking adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi Tian-I think everyone has tried something from here!

Sounds like I need to try some more things from there. I think my favourite thing out of the three was the champion roll. That was quite different whereas the crumble and the croissant were good but not as unusual.

ok, gotta share my experience too <:

so far, i've tried their redcurrant buttercrumble (too dry for me), hazelnut croissant (not bad but yep, more dense than the traditional french croissant), apple triangle (i wasn't blown away heh) and what i recommend would be the blueberry muffin (it is quite perfect. nice scattering of blueberries, delicately moist and wonderfully brown on the outside. the muffin size has increased but so has the price)

Hi bowb-their filled rolls definitely look like the best lunchtime bargain in the city and tasty to boot!

Hi Maria-Hehe well hopefully the health nuts saw the benefits of the seeded bread! The sweet rolls and strudels look so tempting though but even though our redcurrant buttercrumble looked very sweet, it wasn't too sweet.

Ooh burek! I was just writing down some places to try that yesterday. That's interesting about the Portuguese tarts-they're so popular here that I assumed that they'd be popular everywhere.

I'm on a roll here (pardon the pun).. because I've been here too! From memory I bought a bread roll and a sweet treat too. I felt so out of place though as I was with my sister and brother-in-law and they're health nuts and yummy food is taboo. It's never too much fun getting food around them. Having said that.. it didn't stop me from buying Croatian cheese burek in Newtown Sydney, semi freezing it.. with the plan to eat it back home here in Victoria after we flew home. I completely forgot about it and had to throw it out the next day. I found Portuguese custard tarts more prevalent in Sydney than here in Victoria. I sampled a few! I do know you have them featured here on your website too :-)

their filled seeded rolls are just the right size for a light lunch. i especially love the champion roll filled with pastrami, cheese and salad. and only $4. (leaves you enough change and stomach space for dessert.)

Oh, I adore the QVB store! I stop by for a hazelnut croissant rather often-- much to the chagrin of my calorie counter *laugh*.

I do like my croissants to be a little more "airy". There's so much pastry in the one serve!

Hi Pieds Des Anges-Thanks, it was very tasty and I can't get to get some more! :)

Hi GS-Yes, it looks so golden and delicious! I was all set to give my husband half of the seed roll but ended up doing a sneaky and eating his half
