Mamma’s got a pretty, new Kitchenaid cover!

New Kitchenaid cover

Its no secret that I’m newly obsessed with my Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. It commands prime place in my kitchen and I clean it lovingly after each use. What did concern me was that as a benchtop mixer, it would be hard to keep clean and succumb to the light film of kitchen greasiness that inevitably envelops everything in a kitchen. I saw that Kitchenaid made covers but knew that they weren’t stocked here so I did what any good shopper does. I went to ebay.

I spied a seller making custom embroideries which just tickled my fancy and appealed the vanity in me. Her character limit was 15 characters which equalled “Not Quite Nigella” so after figuring out which font and colour combination I wanted I quickly placed an order and sat back and waited. Impatiently.

About a week later my package arrived and I was ever so pleased. It was more gorgeous than I thought it would be. If anyone is interested in them her details are:

email: stitch@neo.rr.com

ebay auctions: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZcompupapa

Linda will also give 15% off (excluding shipping) if you mention Not Quite Nigella and if you buy from her directly. There are a lot of covers and fonts to choose from.

She’s not affiliated with me in any way, I just loved her covers and the service she gave me and I get nothing from recommending her except joy that I know that you will love them too!

And Everyone needs their name up in lights.

Hi airy fairy-It took me sooo long to get it  In Australia they’re super expensive (as they are in Europe too from what I hear) so it was hard convincing hubby that I really needed it but I got it just this last christmas. Once we got it and he saw its sturdy construction and the fact that it kneaded dough so easily (he was the previous dough kneader) he concedes that it was worth every cent.

Its so worth it, for those like us that bake a lot its fabulous so do try and save up for it.

Hi Polka Dot Bride-I beam with pride every time I walk past it (or is it vanity  ). The woman who makes it also embroiders other things. I think a custom embroidered set of chic teatowels would be gorgeous as a kitchen tea gift for a bride to be!

i know, i go and check them out every time i’m in a shop that sells them. they are super expensive here, you’re right…sigh! but i’ll get there eventually…maybe by selling a few more cupcakes! ;)

Hi airy fairy-They’re so much cheaper in America, especially since they discount them on Amazon. I toyed with the idea of buying one and shipping it back but unfortunately the voltage isn’t compatible :(

I’m sure you’ll get loads of cupcake orders which will mean the KA will be yours in no time! But most importantly, which colour do you like?

    Hello!

I’m in the “would love a Kitchenaid too” brigade! And yes, hubby is the dough kneader in this family too (he did that yesterday for me.. I have carpal tunnel syndrome which makes a job like that especially hard).

Great job in finding someone who makes Kitchenaid covers! Great presentation of it too in your photo’s here. I noted the raspberry vodka! Have you cooked with that?

I was saying to hubby yesterday after seeing your cover for the first time - that I’d be so excited to have a Kitchenaid appliance.. I’d not want to cover it up. Initially! I do understand though that it’d just get kitchen greasies all over it.. so it makes sense to have a cover for it.

The baking I did yesterday was pure inspiration from *you*. It was a batch of 15 bagels! When I post about them and add the photo’s .. is it ok that I link to your website to say where I originally gained the inspiration? Of course I’ll mention it’s a Nigella Lawson recipe too. I’m so glad I tried a new recipe.. I do that sort of thing in “spurts”!

That’s so funny that you got a cover for your Kitchenaid. Mind you, now that it’s all covered up, you can’t see that pretty pink colour when you walk into the kitchen every day!

Hi Maria-I lusted after a KA for ages until I finally convinced hubby that Christmas this year was the time for it. It helped that he broke my handheld electric mixer too

I’ve made a few cocktails with the raspberry vodka, the last one on NYE which I made up and called the Balmoral Bathing Beauty  Any excuse to make up cocktails really.

Oh of course, a link is much appreciated most definitely! That’s more than fine, your bagels looked terrific!

Hi Y-I find the red cover more striking and perhaps its a matter of loving to see your own name in lights but when I see the custom embroidered Not Quite Nigella I get rather happy
