The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi Jock-I know, you'd hope the writer would have had some experience with the spelling, the writing itself didn't look particularly amateurish! :loL

I want to know, what exactly are SCRABLED eggs? Do you get a bonus letter score for ordering them? (see outdoor menu pic)

Hi airy fairy-Yes it's so much nicer when someone else cooks it on a lazy Sunday. I'm all for cooking at home but sometimes I can't muster up the energy!

Hi Maria-Definitely, the country breakfast wasn't that much larger but more cost wise. I'd say the smoothie was made up of blueberries, some ice (but not too much), milk and a little ice cream or yogurt.

Yes pancakes and waffles tend to be around the $9-$10 area here. I guess what they make up for in cost of actual ingredients is the fullness of the dish. I don't often order them unless they're ricotta or special pancakes though.

I know what you mean about softer sausages but in a bizarre way it worked-against all expectations mind you!

The Big Breakfast is definitely the way to go by the sounds of it. What was the smoothie made of? Yoghurt? Blueberries.. anything else? Was it tart? I sometimes find places over use ice in smoothies so it ends up being too watery.

I was curious about whether they served pancakes .. so I zoomed in on the menu..and saw the prices too. I'd like to think they'd give you at least a couple of pancakes each serve. You can get pancakes here for around $5.50 - $7 for a good serve.. two big fluffy pancakes.. So I thought the one's at La Vera seemed a bit dear at closer to $9? Though indeed we are talking about Sydney.. so essentially that isn't pricey at all.

Deep-fried sausage.. I wonder why? I'd prefer softer snags I think.. but then again.. I'm a sucker for anything deep fried!
