Thankyou! I bought glace peaches from my favourite dried fruit stall at Paddy’s markets. They’re so fresh and good there. I don’t often see them where they’re purchased by weight, usually only the packs of glace fruit at health food stores.

I think yogurt and sour cream lend the cake a softness, apparently some chemical reaction? I don’t know but I always sour my milk in cakes with lemon juice. That’s my biggest hint for soft cakes.

I love yoghurt of sour cream in any cake batter (hence my banana bread recipe had it!).

This would be an excellent table centrepiece for *any* occasion! The orange/peach combo sounds very good to me also.
