The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi Maria-It's very thirst quenching :)

I know, it's not a bad addiction I suppose. I do wonder if it signals a deficiency though, it's unnatural the amount I can eat of it

Wow, that drink sounds so exotic and lovely! :)

I think it's kinda funny how you go through bags of baby spinach if you have some in the fridge. I guess it's much better than munching your way through bags of peanuts or something with a high fat content! It's so good for you, you should eat a bag at least once a week! :)

Hi Patricia-I'm with you, I will follow the smell of bacon cooking almost anywhere!

Hi Maria-Yep white pepper is great in sandwiches. I prefer it to black pepper really. I know iceberg is supposed to be less exciting but I love the crunch of it. You're the same as me, I love rocket and baby spinach, I could gobble up bags of baby spinach if I had it-haha perhaps I have a deficiency that I'm not aware of

Thanks! It was a homemade spiced rhubarb syrup with mineral water :D

Looks great! Mmm, YUMMM! Though I'm a sucker for cheese in rolls like this (& white pepper).. and definitely iceberg lettuce (like you've featured). I've heard of chefs giving the old iceberg a horrible lashing, denouncing it in ways only reseved for supermarket brand mayo. But I can't agree. I enjoy my gourmet lettuce mixes.. with my two fav's being rocket and baby spinach --but there is always a time and a place for iceberg in my opinion. It has its own character, regardless of any nutrient deficiencies and high water content.

Cute and cosmopolitan looking drink in the background btw!

Anything with bacon has my undivided attention, Lorraine. And I love the idea of adding avocado to a sandwich!

Hi Y-Yes I agree warm bacon is a must. Cold bacon gets the white grease on it which is really unappetising. Hehe Dr Seuss!
