The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

I headed home from London last November and had an incredible salad at the Gordon's Plane Food restaurant in Heathrow airport. Fabulous crispy duck salad. I ordered the small portion and it was all I could do to finish it. The duck was warm and very crispy, tasty and full of flavor. Very impressive. After arrive home, I emailed my husband who was still in London and recommended the restaurant and the dish to him. A week later he was in Heathrow airport waiting for his flight and decided to take me up on the suggestion. He also ordered the crispy duck salad and was equally impressed with the smaller portion. Gordon Ramsay truly knows what cuisine is all about: flavor, simplicity, freshness.

THANK YOU, GORDON.....
I love your shows and your books!

My friend and I stopped in on our transit home from Florence. Not enough wait staff so service was very slow. The main course pastas were HORRIBLE, over sauced and very bland, soggy noodles though it looked pretty. Food quality was on par with an American diner and both of us left over half our plates untouched. Go to the lounges and save the money & calories.

Had breakfast at Plane food. Awful. Salmon and scrambled egg at £16 should have been outstanding - was bland and paltry portions. English breakfast the same. Went to the BA lounge afterwards to have a meal!

I’m just about finished Gordon’s ‘Playing with Fire’ and after reading what I have so far.. I get the feeling that what you get at any Gordon Ramsay restaurant is quality. No stone left unturned. A lot of thought and consideration put into everything from the restrooms to the tableware and meal prices.. and of course the meals.
