The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi Y-It's definitely not for the carb phobic. I've found there are some big potato lovers out there and this is for them ;) And for everyone out there that is freezing!

Hi Carolyn-Believe me, you're not the only one! :) I've known so many people who could wax lyrical about them and buy specific potato cookbooks.

I felt the same way. My problem is with the kneading. My arms get so tired and I'd give up and the bread would have the wrong texture. But once I got my husband to knead it, and after that my Kitchenaid, it's been smooth sailing since!

Hi Maria-It's definitely for those TLC needed days :) Thankyou so much for your ideas! It is a really pretty book, not outlandish or experimental food, just good home cooking, especially if you have kids. I am thankyou, hope yours is good? :)

How more comforting can you get?.. Chicken soup from scratch.. bread.. potatoes..mayo.. Oh! (swoons)

I'm so glad you did a potato/bread thing and thanks so much for mentioning me and linking to me too..AND, having me in your list of blogs too - I am touched by that and so grateful, thank you!

You're an inspiration in so many ways :D

I've always wondered about the book 'Apples for Jam'.. it's not a cheapy, but I'm always been drawn to just the beauty of it. It's just a beautiful looking book and exudes 'homey comforts'.

I hope you're having a good weekend :)

I lovve potatoes!! My friends think i'm slightly crazy! There's just so many things you can do with them!
Your blog inspires me to make the potato bread...however my experiences with bread making don't seem to go too well. Maybe it's something to do with temperature and the yeast, or maybe it's just me! I'm not too sure! :p

Hi Suzie-What a lovely way to know when to "emerge" out of the cocoon! I love the scent of Jasmine too :)

Hi Popeye-Thankyou! I love soups in Winter, they're instantly warm up the body and soup :)

Hi andreaa-It's really good, the texture of the bread itself is so good for soaking up soups and juices. Nigella recommends it to soak up a stew which I'd agree with :)

Hi Maria-Thankyou! :)

Hi Duckey-Why thanks! Umm I'm not sure, the main thing that I definitely need is lots of good light. Unfortunately with Winter, it means that it gets dark so quickly so the opportunity to take them is restricted. Also lots of tries! :)

Hi grace-it's a bit crazy but crazy in a good way isn't it

Hi Dianne-Thanks so much! :)
