The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

I'm currently enjoying a Sydney sojourn for work, and holed up in a hotel very nearby. I was keen for some Japanese food tonight, and the proximity was too close to pass up. I'm so glad I went. Even though I was by myself it was still fun. I liked the touch screen ordering. Things did come out incredibly quickly. I'm always happy to find a new Japanese restaurant in Sydney. I'll be back. I have to try the roulette!

Love your site! The reviews and pics are fab! Also the inclusion of the map down the bottom of the page is really helpful.

I visited Wagaya on Friday night, having made a reservation a week earlier, with 4 other people. We had mountains of fresh yummy food and a bottle of plum wine and it worked out to less then $30 a head!

Highly recommend this place!

Hi Charmanda-Oh cool! Yes it's hard to tell exactly how big some things are from the pics :)

Hi Y-It is a bit gimmicky but the food is pretty decent. It's not haute cuisine or Kaiseki but for dishes under $10 it's pretty good value. No, he can't fake it, the night before he had too much wasabi and couldn't speak for a few minutes!

I thought this place would be too gimmicky, .. and it looks like it is, but the food doesn't seem too bad either. That roulette sushi looked like it had a horrific amount of wasabi on it though.. are you sure your husband wasn't on the floor in tears, when he bravely claimed the wasabi was actually pretty mild? :D

I've tried it and I think it's quite good. The pictures were sometimes a tad deceiving lol. Something that looked tiny in pics turned out to be HUGE!
