The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi Maria-Hehe it was quite cute and quaint although I felt like I wanted to know how much it would be, seeing that no-one was hosting. I wonder if they get a lot of people hosting tables?

The ice cream truffles and truffles were really spectacular. I really wished I could have bought the silver truffles in a box so that I could have taken them home.

We really liked the fact that we could pour our own rum which really helped. We had a Rum Baba at another restaurant in London (story yet to be published) and they poured the rum and it was too strong for me.

It was an amazing experience and I felt so lucky getting to go into the kitchen and have a tour. I spend far too much eating out but I figure that's my entertainment

I loved this post Lorraine! :D I loved the idea of the ladies getting the menu's without prices and the man being the 'informed' one, hehe! ;)

I think I really would have loved the tuna and swordfish tartar.. but who am I kidding that olive bread with butter would have even done it for me!

The presentation of the truffles and icecream balls was just brilliant!

I agree the chocolate and lavendar tart looked so beautiful on the plate. I'm a sucker for warmed babka's..but I would have been 'iffy' in the rum part. I don't hate it, I just don't like it to overpower a dessert.

The pork belly dish reminded me of 'snails', you know the pastry? I think everything here looks divine Lorraine..except for the fish. Which is ok, but I feel like I ate it with you! It reminds me of the fish I ordered on my wedding anniversary this year and I totally regretted it. It just didn't compare with other dishes and it wasn't satisfying and I felt a bit ripped off.

I think it's wonderful that you get invited into kitchens and get free food too. Royal Hospital Road seems soooo pricey. But I'd love to go! Most of the money I spent in Brisbane recently was on dining out..and the older I get, the more true that is for me. I love dining experiences and would rather skimp on other things so I can try different food :)
