Ah, I’ve always wondered about this place. My office is equidistant between these two shops (so weird to have two next to each other) and Ichiban Boshi, so I usually go there (it’s so close to Cupcakes on Pitt, you see).

However, my favourite ramen place in Sydney is undoubtedly Zenya at Eastwood. You MUST go, it’s fabulous. I crave their noodles and have to visit at least once a month or I go into withdrawal.

Hi Y-Maybe they have a problem with consistency. There were actually a few too many sesame seeds I think. We ate outside so we didn’t see it. He was at Ryo’s though and we sat right next to it and I recognised his distinctive signature! He sure loves the ramen

Yay, another ramen place to try We’ve been doing a rotation of Ryo’s, Ichiban Boshi and Tonton, punctuated periodically by Ten Sun at Crows Nest, for too long!

Speaking of Hiroyuki Sakai, any chance you went to the Iron Chef dinner this year??

Oh I was there recently too. B has been a couple of times. I ordered the tan tan men when we visited, but wasn’t terribly impressed with it (Ryo’s is better, of course). My broth looked redder than your pictured bowl, and didn’t have as many sesame seeds. Did you notice the picture of hiroyuki sakai on the wall? (I think it was him anyway )
