The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi maria-Oh really! These ones were really good-sorry I don't mean to rub it in but I mean that they're worth making at home if you have the time :)

Did you go downstairs at Moontree? I always do a bit of damage to the CC as their homewares are so nice. Oh yes the Cat's Meow is also fantastic. That whole strip of shops is great :)

Argh! I was in the Blue Mountains this weekend and would have loved to try those ricotta hotcakes! I had banana and honeycomb ricotta hotcakes in Glebe on Saturday morning and the orange sounds like a great variation.

Thank you for this blog post, I will save Solitary Restaurant for next time. I did however go a little nuts at Moontree candles and am filling the apartment with the beautiful smell of Vanilla bean. Heaven! I was also tempted by some gorgeous side tables and lamps at The Cat's Meow(?) in Leura. We did however walk away with a massive painting though

The Blue Mountains is definitely a happy place for me, there is just so much to explore and do.

Hi The Duo Dishes-It's a very unusual tasting Apple juice. To be honest, it was better when it was less bitter though :) I love the ricotta hotcakes too!

Hi Kathy-It is indeed! It's about 2 hours out of Sydney :)

Hi Blond Duck-It's certainly a place for soul searching and karmic contemplation :)

Hi Arwen-I rarely see it but find it absolutely delicious. Like passionfruit curd which I prefer to lemon curd when done well! Yes I love how the Blue Mountains has that Heathcliff weather :)

Hi Anna-Yes, we only ordered it for that! We wanted to keep the mug (but didn't  )

Hi Simon-I think that's normal for a cafe or restaurant nowadays. It was clear, pure and sweet with a slight bitterness.

Hi Julia-Yes a comparison of the two would be a lovely holiday indeed. The mistiness is funny, one day it's all misty and oh so foggy, the next day it's clear!

Hi Helen-Not sure about the shape of the butter nor the message they're trying to communicate with the apostrophe!

Hi Beth-Yes I should have asked them where they got the cup from! Would make a great gift for overseas friends and family. haha yes long Pocky sticks!

Hi Ffichiban-it was so foggy we had to drive at 20kms as we only see a few metres in front of us! :o

Hi pigpigscorner-They were very good and it was a really nice brunch :)

Hi Natasha-Thanks so much for your kind words and I'm glad you've found my site :) A holiday to the Blue Mountains is always special to us :)

Hi grace-I know, it looks like water doesn't it! :O

Hi Zam-Oh great! The view would certainly help any morning after ailments I would imagine :D

Hi Christie-I should really try making some orange curd myself and the ricotta hotcakes are easy! :)

Nice! I went there for brunch a year ago with my boyfriend on our way home from the Blue Mountains (after a big fight the night before!) and it was a lovely spot :p
