Seeking a promotion at work? I have a secret strategy for a great way to impress your boss and let them know that you have a) great taste and b) you can work the internet thingy that confounds them so. Not Quite Nigella and Brasserie Bread have partnered up to bring you the best way to a promotion. By winning a mixed box of fresh Brasserie Bread breads worth $50 delivered to your workplace*!
As is the way things happen in blog land, I went to Brasserie Bread a few weeks ago and wrote about it. Tony from The Food Zeitgeist and I follow each other on twitter and as a fellow Brasserie Bread enthusiast, he told Mei who is Brasserie Bread’s lovely marketing person about my review and Mei and I got to chatting. She invited me to lunch at Brasserie Bread and we talked about the idea of doing a competition on my site and I also got to try the new Winter menu and stay and watch a Kid’s Birthday party there.

Two of you will win a fantastic box from Brasserie Bread!

Tuna l’ancienne baguette $10
And of course the question you were all wanting to ask: how was the Winter menu? Delicious of course and well suited to Winter. I chose the Tuna l’ancienne bageutte which came filled with tuna salad, chopped boiled eggs, sliced tomato and leafy greens. If you love your bread earth shatteringly crunchy and delicious, this is the baguette for you.

Lamb with potato and spinach hash with fried egg $15 ($14 without egg)
Mei gave me some of her Slow Cooked Lamb with potato and spinach hash with fried egg which was an exercise pure comfort food down to the runny egg yolk, softly falling apart lamb and crunchy bread with real butter. This is the kind of item that should come with a woolly blanket to snuggle up in and your favourite movie ![]()

I stayed for a little of one of Brasserie Bread’s kid’s birthday baking classes. Kids learned how to bake various items while the parents have a couple of hours where they can sit and have an Allpress coffee and something good to eat.

Classes cost $250 for up to 10 children and they each get to make and take home things such as chocolate cookies, pizza and gigantic chocolate turtles. Which leaves me to say in an upset whine “Mum…whhyyy do kids get all the fun?!”.

Dang, I guess I am out of the running!
Not fair!! I work from home and it’s more than 25kms away from Banksmeadow. I lurve earth-shattering crunchy bread filled with all those tasty morsels. What a fantastic idea to have a child’s birthday party where they can learn all about the process of bread making. Alright, how about a competitionto win one of those cute aprons for the people living outside of the radius, lol.
