I used to work with royal icing all the time and can understand why people back off from it, from just the name. But why did you look for a cookie cutter when you can "make" one yourself. Use a cardboard box (ie from a ceral box, not the corrugated, and pencil in the shape. Cut out and place the stencil on the dough. trace the stencil on the dough with a knife, and voila! This is great for ALL types of shapes. Working as a baker, we have to be inventive with our cookies. This helps. These cookies looks so wonderful!
