The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

I know this comes in too late to win the nifty beater gadget but I thought you might appeciate this idea. Ready? Bergamot (the flavour that creates Earl Grey tea) and Leatherwood honey. You,d have to close your eyes and breathe in the parfume of this buttercream before letting it melt on your tongue.
What do you think?

Boil a tin of condensed milk until it is caramel. Swirl the cold caramel through chocolate buttercream and use to sandwich a chocolate cake.

I've saved this one especially for last. It's not exactly a buttercream flavour, but a garnish which adds extra interest and texture to an already sweet topping...
'Choc Top' cupcakes!
- Pipe the buttercream on top of a cupcake in a 'Mr Whippy' fashion, then place in the deep freeze until completely chilled. Meanwhile, melt some chocolate and Copha in a small, deep bowl. With a steady hand, dip the top of each cupcake into the chocolate and allow to set before serving. You could even sprinkle on nuts, shredded coconut or 100s & 1000s for extra crunch and colour!

Thanks NQN for this competition; it really made me think outside the square. It's been a blast!
