The slightly eccentric eating, cooking and travel adventures of a Sydney girl who loves cakes, cooking, Nigella Lawson and eating. She eats, breathes and dreams food and indeed will never get cable TV as she'd quit working and watch the Food Channel all day long.

Hi!

My boyfriend is Dutch and I have been to Holland many times.

If you're ever looking for Dutch food there is a Dutch isle in the Coles supermarket in Leichhardt. Also, the Norton St Grocer stocks a lot of Dutch cooking ingredients. I am def going to make the trip out there though, it looks great!
Thanks for reviewing this lief shop!

I just love the Dutch Shop, I can spend the best part of the day there and my money, but it is a 3 hour drive so I can't go as often as I'd like to.

My last visit 12/3/2011 the main goal was to stock up on the Swiss Schabziger Cheese (stink kaas) I purchased the last 6, sadly I was told that there would be no more imported because it's illegal to import with the milk powder content. They should check this out!!! I can order from several internet sites within Australia

Hi Lorraine,

The name of the shop is T'winkeltje, which means "Little Shop" in Dutch.

They have good varieties of salted licorice (drop) there as well.

The machines that churn out hot snack is called Febo.

Cheers!

Bitterballen are delicious, but you'll have to try frikandellen. Much better!

You would look smashing with a "carrot top." I recently discovered this carrot color history, researching purple sweet potatoes that I found this year. I guess purple didn't look too appetizing back then, but now we love it. BTW, purple carrots are making a comeback.
My blog is back. Hooray.
