I know you like the non food giveaways as much as the food giveaways so today we have a movie double pass giveaway for the new film The Boys Are Back! The film is directed by Scott Hicks from Shine and stars Clive Owen, Emma Booth, Erik Thomson, Julia Blake and Chris Haywood and starts its season on November 12. I don’t want to give it all away but it is about a British Sports journalist who finds himself as the single parent of a six year old boy as well as his older teenage son and is inspired by a true story and based on the book by Simon Carr.
To win 1 of the 5 double passes, all you have to do is tell me the name of your favourite actor. Add your entry via a comment to this story. You can enter once daily as long as your answer is different (although how many favourites can one have right?
). This competition is open to Australian residents only.
This will be a quick competition so it finishes midnight AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on the 12th of November, 2009.
Good Luck to everyone!
Love,
Lorraine

Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family is my fave ATM.

Hi NQN
Hayden Christensen!
I saw the ad yesterday I can’t believe Clive Owen has another movie!!!!
Ok to tell you the truth, and I’m not bluffing… my favourite actor is Clive Owen!
I’m sorry… I know it sounds like I’m sucking up because it is a Clive Owen movie but I was inlove with him especially in Sin City and King Arthur!
ooohhhh I would have to say my favourite actor is Liam Neeson. I cannot pin point the exact thing I like about him ~ his brilliant acting ability, his irish accent, his chisselled features or the general fact he makes me weak at the knees!!! LOL!!
Mmm… Sean Connery?
My favourite actor is Jeremy Northam, mainly because he played Mr Knightly in Emma and Mr Knightly is my favourite Austen hero. He is also in my favourite movie, Gosford Park, as is Clive Owens
honestly, my favourite actor is clive owen. it all started after i had a delicious dream about him! but who can forget his great performance in ‘beyond borders’ and ‘derailed’. mmm clive owen.
Sounds like a great movie, I love Clive Owen!
I don’t care what Rish says, I love Sandra Bullock.
Morgan freeman
Ewan McGregor – so versatile, he can act, sing and dance. Easy on the eye, and looks great in motorbike gear and on his bike too!
has to be a oldtimefavourite BetteDavis love the eyes the walk, the great characters she played like baby jane, margo channing,in films like all about eve,now voyager, the letter etc etc still totally watchable 60 years latter the true mark of a legend
Clive Owen is the best. My favourite actor since I first saw him in a series about a guy losing his sight about 10 years ago, so handsome and a wonderful actor too.
Hi Lorraine,
This is easy for me (and everyone who knows me would know this too!) Definitely, 100% without a doubt, Leo!
I think our love started blossoming in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, but was fully cemented in Titanic. I am convinced there is a Hollywood conspiracy against him though; in so many of his popular movies he gets killed! Even though I think the Departed is a wonderful movie, I can’t enjoy it knowing what happens to my bebe.
I realised our love was eternal when I heard he was going to be starring in one of my favourite books, Revolutionary Road, and when I read his enviro credentials it seals the deal. I have full permission from my boyfriend, should the occasion arise, to scheme and plot and make him mine!
Clive Owen is my favourite actor.
Cate Blanchett
Meryl Streep!!
I have always admired Reese Witherspoon, with her distinct pointed chin with the dimple & her versatility with acting roles.
She can move from one movie genre` to another smoothly and efficiently. Her portrayal of June Carter in the Johnny Cash movie was brilliant
Joan Chen
Zac Efron. I think that deep down, I never grew up past the age that really is High School Musical’s target audience.
My favourite actor is Jack Nicholson
Probably Ben Stiller – he ALWAYS makes me laugh without fail…. just think ZOOLANDER…!
It would have to be Chris Haywood – he seems to pop up in all the good Ausie films!
Clive Owen
Hilary Duff! Strange..but she was the first to make me cry
Clive Owen because he’s a really good actor and not bad looking
Sean Penn
Antonio Banderas is my favourite actor. Those smouldering Latin good looks get me every time…must admit tho that Clive Owen is pretty yummy!
Maggie Smith she is the best
Viggo Mortensen – a total spunk in all facets…he’s intelligent, multi-lingual, has great looks that seem to get better with age, and is a fantastic, intense, humourous actor who has a great body of work behind him, and hopefully many many more movies to come, and I will enjoy watching him in every single one.
See his talents shine in;
A History of Violence
and
Eastern Promises.
Sarah/not writing this for the free tickets but just so I can blab on as a real dribbling fan.
ps. I bet he is also a fine cook.
Clive Owen is currently on the top of my list, for sure…
Would have said Clive Owen but he’s in this movie so instead will say Russell Crowe, the great down to earth Aussie who puts everything into his parts
My favourite actor is Edward Norton, he can put himself in a role and be the character – not the celebrity. I like the fact he’s not always in the magazines talking about his personal life. He has DIGNITY !
Sean Connery, always Brilliant!!
Jordan Sturdee…he played the Christmas tree in last year’s nativity and this year he’s a reporter looking for the true meaning of Christmas!!!!
Anne Hathaway
My favourite actor is not a man at all but a woman, Reece Witherspoon, I like her pose, grace, real body, acting skills and she is great at one of the most important jobs in the world, being a Mum.
Johnny Depp, have followed him since 21 Jump Street, he is brilliant in whatever he is in and never ceases to amaze me with his versatility.
Paris Hilton?? *roll eyes*
my favourite is definitely russell crowe, fell in love with him in gladiators.. <3
I adore “George Clooney” This is a story that quite a few mwn must have experienced, and the trials that they go through.
Brad Pitt in Snatch. Fookin Pikeys!
I absolutely love Nic Cage. He plays every part just right and all his looks are more than just right.
daniel radcliffe
Hi NQN,
Without a doubt my favourite actor is Mr. Hugh Sheridan!
It just has to be Audrey Hepburn – class and sophistication all the way.
Really love Eric Bana… have really enjoyed him from his early days……
I saw this on Friday night and it’s really good. It raises some really interesting questions about fatherhood and parenting generally, as well as being just gorgeous and very moving…
Gerard Butler because he has proven to be a versatile actor with a lot of passion and is extremely easy to look at which always helps!!!
Can I just have the poster? Sigh….
Helen Mirren is fantasic – loved her in Calendar Girls
OOOh. Johhny Depp for number one for sure.
Although it’s hard to pick just one, if pressed I’d say Cary Grant.
Julia Roberts
My daughter’s favourite actress is brenda song
I saw the trailer for this – it looks good!
My favourite actor is Humphrey Bogart.
Hi NQN!
My favourite actor of all time is actually Clive Owen. From GOsford Park to Shoot ‘Em Up, I’ve seen every movie he’s ever done.
PS. Love your blog BTW!!
Hi Lorraine,
My fave actor is Robin Williams. While he is a comic genious, think about movies like “Dead Poets Society” (my fave movie of all time) and “24hr Photo” (how frightening was that movie!)
‘gards,
mikey
Nicholas Cage, dynamic actor.
Johnny Depp, he does weird, dark and quirky brilliantly, but can do mainstream just as brilliantly!
Hands down no contest – Hugh Jackman!!
Definitely Hugh Grant – who can’t go weak at the knees with that accent??
Oh Has to be Jack …. Jack Nicholson …all the way baby !

Meryl Streep. No matter which character she portrays it is always stunning!!
Favourite actor no 2. Colin Firth …he makes a mean MR Darcy
Joaquin Phoenix..intense, a little weird, not hollywood handsome but good looking in his own way! Best of all – great actor!
Michael Vartan – hmm esp that half french in him.
This question only needs one answer, Johnny Depp!!
Spongebog Squarepants.
COLIN MORGAN from Merlin! He is my idol and I know practically everything about him! My dream is to meet him one day!
