You probably already know of my jam fetish. The absolute need to buy jams wherever I travel because I love eating jam as does Mr NQN who has his crumpets slathered with it every night. Well Anathoth is probably a brand known to NQN readers as I did a giveaway a while back which was very popular-it turns out that you have as much of a jam fetish as I! ![]()
Anathoth jam is a jam made in New Zealand using just fruit and sugar and nothing else. That’s right, that is no pectins, preservatives, colours or flavours just the two ingredients that we would use when we make a jam. It’s as close to home made jam as one can find so it’s already got a great head start on a lot of jams. If you’re stuck for brunch ideas, Anathoth have got something rather fun to start your weekend off with! They’re giving away some Anathoth brunch packs which contain:
1 x Anathoth Rhubarb and Red Berry Jam
1 x Anathoth Cherry Berry Jam
1 x Anathoth 100% cotton tea towel
1 x Edmonds White Wings pancake in a bottle shaker mix

All packaged up and sent to 35 lucky Not Quite Nigella readers thanks to the people at Anathoth Jams!

I don’t have a particular brunch meal so I don’t meet the conditions but I can tell you about one of the most memorable brunch meals I ever had. It was on a Saturday morningish after a week of intense partying at my university. The brunch included regular Swedish fare such as meatballs, pickled herrings, potatoes etc, lots of booze, drinking games and great company. It doesn’t get any better.
Yum jam! As much as I love sweet breakfasts when I go out for brunch with friends, I always get eggs Benedict (as I don’t know how to make the sauce!) two poached eggs with smoked salmon on delicious bread with hollandaise sauce…I’m definitely hungry now!
Dim sum brunch if in the mood of having some Chinese food; otherwise pancakes, fruit jam and fresh fruit and juices is the way to go!
Brunch is my favourite! Eggs and the works or pancakes. Even better if someone else makes it
You know, call me boring, but bacon, eggs and toast on a lazy Saturday morning never gets old.
Eggs Benedict is one of those real “spoil yourself” brunch items that I love.
Never tried Anathoth jams…they look delish though! My favourite brunch dish? If I’m good, it’s Bircher muesli. If I’m bad, it’s french toast with bananas, bacon and maple syrup. Amazing combination!
My favourite brunch dish is corn fritters, poached egg and avacado with some crispy prosciutto for good measure
I’ve never used any other brand after trying Anathoth. They’re great! And my fav brunch has to be orange zest scented ricotta pancakes with dollops of jam!
Scrambled eggs – but they must include chilli flakes and grated cheese, and be sprinkled with fresh coriander. Ooooh nice ….. pass the coffee please!
Now this is a bit unfair, how can I name just one favorite? It’s like asking me to pick a favorite between my children!
Hmm, Eggs Benedict, Poached fruit w/ rice porrige, Maple French toast with Bacon, Jam on super thick GFree toast, Fritta,..
Ok, My definite favorite brunch item is a brunch buffet!
My boyfriend is a jam feind so entering for him he’d eat the whole jar of jam in one sitting if i didn’t stop him! he particularly likes anything that will clog up his arteries for brunch mainly bacon eggs and toast with cheese while i tend to go for a muffin or croissant to save room for lunch
Fav Brunch Meal- Is Almond Cross picked up from Sonoma Bakery @ Paddington + Poached Eggs on Toast & a Cuppa!!
My all time favorite, and most indulgent, brunch is Eggs Benedict. Beautiful fresh free-range eggs (I’m lucky – my best friend keeps happy chickens in her little back garden), perfectly toasted sour dough, thin sliced Ham off the bone and that gorgeous thick, fluffy, tangy and oh so buttery homemade hollandaise sauce slathered
on top just doesn’t get any better. And don’t forget a great coffee as well!
I love banana, walnut and Nutella pancakes for brunch…. yum!
Nothing beats scrambled eggs sprinkled with plenty of chopped parsley and grainy toast
My favourite brunch is pancakes with honey, jam, strawberries and banana with honey or maple syrup or jam, made by my hubby on a Sunday morning! My boys and I enjoy them very much!
What would breakfast be without jams this jams looks great.I eat many pieces of toast if i have found the perfect jam.I find i get to full on bacon and eggs etc.But jams i do not seem to be filled many thanks for introducing me to Anathoth Jams
Brunch ? a large iced coffee (without cream) toasted fruit bread and a glass of water! easy, filling and delicious!
On a cold rainy day the chinese in me craves yum cha but otherwise a old favorite is poached eggs on sourdough toast and a croissant with jam! The Anathoth jams are delicious especially the rhubarb and I love tea towel very sweet
If I’m in a sweet mood, pancakes… If I’m in a savory mood, eggs benadict with smoked salmon. Ooooh it’s almost time for brunch!
Brunch is one of my favorite meals. Eggs benedict! Yum!
A bed of fresh baby spinach, layered with thick sliced tomato – smoked salmon – sharp shaved Parmesan and topped with two poached eggs! Crack the pepper and chop parsley like there’s no tomorrow! Delicious and fresh! Oh and a hot long black coffee… Hmmm.
You can call them cheat’s tortellini or ricotta gnocci… All they are is a mix of fresh ricotta (not from small plastic packs, they are too runny, but from the kilo pack sold at woolies or any ricotta sold in deli by weight) and plain flour, rolled into thin sausage shape then cut into small bite size pieces, boiled in salted water, then drained (treat them very gently as they are soft and tender!), and fried in some good butter, with a sprinkling of sugar into the pan to get good caramelisation. Eat with sour cream. Amazing.
Well, this is a bit tough because it depends on my mood and the weather, but in winter I love ricotta pancakes with caramelised banana and creamy vanilla yoghurt. In summer, it would have to be an amazing nutty granola with creamy vanilla yoghurt and a side of in season stewed fruit.
Actually, I could indulge in an amazing brunch at any time of day!
My husband always makes the best scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on a weekend for brunch
Secret? I don’t really like going out for brunch. My favourite is croissants and smoked salmon eaten in the comfort of my own home.
Currently my favourite breakfast is enjoying a Blueberry Buckle Pancake (buckwheat pancake with blueberries)scrambled eggs, bacon and a pot of organic maple syrup,at the Pancake Parlour accompanied by my grandson and a cup of filtered coffee..
A slice of Black Pudding with a soft poached egg on top with freshly ground white pepper. When you break the egg yolk it flows into the Black Pudding creating a flavour you remember all week. And a Latte.
I luuurve leisurely hotel buffet breakfasts! At a cafe, I’ll always have Eggs Benedict with ham, or if I’m in Chinatown, seafood congee with fried bread from Superbowl.
Oh Oh… corn fritters with a beautiful rash of bacon and perfect oooozy poached egg! Yummy
I adore traditional eggs benedict!
my favourite brunch ever is mushy peas with spec and poached eggs, chilli oil and parmesan. and of course homemade sourdough!
For me nothing beats American pancakes – a big stack of pancakes smothered in maple syrup with crispy bacon – and a large, strong coffee
My favorite brunch is french toast made from fruit loaf cut really thick and smothered in jam and cream! Yum!
I would love to try some of the Rubarb Jam in the brunch pack
We have just returned from a holiday in Vietnam, we are now hooked on a big bowl of pho (beef broth with noodles) yum.Failing that my daughter makes brioche filled with jam and baked in muffin tins until golden brown.
What a lovely giveaway
! And the two jam flavours are the ones I picked last time!! Thanks Anathoth! Now, Lorraine – you DO say ‘brunch’ – for me that begins with orange blossoms [orange + champagne, oh, we'll forget the orange by glass two!
!], followed by a tray of open Scandinavian sandwiches on a dark rye or black bread. Fillings? Say smoked salmon & cottage cheese, egg pate + anchovy fillets or best ham with pickled cucumbers. I think Three-Cookies would u’stand and approve! And, Hayley & Ann – may I drop in one weekend for a share of yours?
!
My favourite brunch is pancakes with strawberries and maple syrup; or lemon juice, sugar and ice cream.
I’m sure I am Anthoth’s biggest fan, so lately I’ve been hooked on pancakes or pikelets with Anathoth Rhubarb jam and a smidgen of cream… sheer bliss. or crumpets. Basically anything I can put Rhubarb and Berry Jam on !
Croque monsieur is my one of my favourite brunch/lunch/breakfast/dinner meals, in fact I plan to make some today with provolone dolci
my fav brunch meal is probably fresh croissants, tarts and other goodies from the bakery!
Ok if I had to make a choice it would be a

Crab and Avocado Omelet with a side of Sweet Potato Hash with Crispy Bacon and a beautiful
German Apple Pancake
mmm mmmmh good !
or poached eggs on toast with fresh squeezed juice and coffee
Turtle Pancakes! I knew it – no seriosuly, Turtle pancakes ARE my favourite (ok one of) brunch food! It’s funny, I saw these jams in woollies the other day and thought ‘I must try them’ now I’m thinking – ‘I must win them’!
The best is walnut and fruit toast, real butter and a variety of cheese, jam, followed by a bottomless very strong cup of coffee, happy days!!!!!
i love brunch! esp when im on holiday and i wake up to the smell of cooking by the boy!
he cant do anything fancy so my favourite would be barossa ham and gyurere cheese in the sandwich grill, a poached egg and a strip of fatty bacon. and i large mug mocha to wash it all down!
Potato cakes or bubble and squeak with freshly made tomato sauce and sauteed mushrooms. Oh! and baked beans if I’m particularly hungry, followed by toast and jam. Pardon the drool…
Huevos Rancheros – Mexican style scrambled eggs with onion, red chili, coriander (red, white & green to match the colours of the mexican flag)& toasted cumin seeds. Served inside a warm tortilla w/ guacamole! Picked up this brunch love while living in Mexico. close my eyes while i’m eating it & I’m instantly back in Oaxaca. Adious Amigo.
Oh, would LOVE to show off that towel!
!
Yum Cha would have to be the ultimate indulgent brunch, but if I’m making it at home it would have to be spicy baked eggs with tomato, capsicum and spices. Runny golden yolks and a dollop of tart yoghurt!
Omg omg!! We love brunch in this house, perfect excuse for a sleepin (yeah like that happens with a 2.5yo!!) and a late breakfast! Two things in our house I love to make
Sweet – hotcakes, syrup, yoghurt and fruit. Sooo good!
Savoury – pea & haloumi fritters with oven roasted tomatoes and poached eggs.
= mmmmmmmmmmmm
My husband has perfected the art of the ricotta pancake wit honeycomb butter and maple syrup. But, I love my daughter’s scrambled eggs with the Anathoth Farmhouse relish.Perfect any time of the day!
A punnet of fresh strawberries, chopped, covered in thick, creamy yoghurt, rolled oats, and honey. With a “side” serving of sourdough toast, eggs, bacon, sausage…the lot! (Come on, if I have to wait until midday for my first meal, it’d better be a filling one!
)
My favourite brunch is toasted crossiants with swiss cheese and ham. A glass of bubbly doesn’t hurt either…
Smoked salmon eggs benedict hands down for me. The hollandaise needs to be made from scratch though – none of this packet sauce nonsense!
Plain pancakes with a dash of lemon, if it is mid-morning I spread with a little jam
Gorgeous Spanish eggs with chorizo..and a little sourdough toast topped with berry jam.
Sooooo very yummy!!
If I can have it my way, I’d have french crepes smothered with raspberry jam every day for brunch!
Favourite brunch is crispy bacon with poached eggs on hot crunchy toast and seasonings, OJ and flat white coffee! Yum, yum.
My favourite brunch is french toast with jam or lemon and sugar. Yum!
Anatoth jams are delicious
Brunch special is coconut and chocolate topped waffles, sprinkled with crushed toasted almonds for crunch, a huge spoonful of thick whipped cream and a large dollop of cherry berry jam, Anathoth’s of course. To die for!
Scrambled eggs on turkish bread with avacado, grilled haloumi and tomatoes…..right now. Might change next week. Brunch is my favourite meal (next to high tea).
Having 2 young kids, brunch is a meal of the past as theya re usually up and need brakfast but once upon a time, when I’dhave brunch, I’d lean towards the savoury and go for either dimsum brunch. My other half though has a sweet tooth and prob couldn’t go past a nice stack of pancakes with maple syrup .
—-I adore Quiche.
At my last brunch I had Spinich Quiche w/ a fresh salad.
MyyyyyyyyY, it was so DElish, that I can still taste the silky eggs upon my tongue. xxx
I love pancakes with berries! So the Anathoth jam pack looks great! A savory option I quite like is some mushrooms sauteed with garlic, thyme and balsamic vinegar, with some pan fried halmoui cheese.
Oooohh! I love a good weekend brunch! My favourite brunch is what we can the all-in-one breaky. A few good quality thick Sausages, 2 red onions cut into chunks, 6 tomatoes quartered, one can of diced tomatoes in herbs, a few cloves of garlic sliced, some rosemary, thyme and bunch of basil torn. toss it all together in a baking dish, a good lug of olive oil, a generous splash of balsamic dressing, and shove the dish in the oven for 1hr on moderate heat. Jump back into bed, wait for the delicious smells to waft through the house. Share it with your partner or family, eating it straight out of the dish and mop up the delicious juices with torn up chunks of fresh crusty bread. You can even pull it out 5 mins before serving and crack a couple of eggs on top and put it back in to set the eggs.
Delicious!!
Well, every weekend my partner and self go out for breakfast/brunch, and tend to go to a different place each day. Having said that, it is usually around Newtown and Marrickville, as we live in the area.
I like to try something different most times, especially if it is new to the menu. I love an epigastric delight in many varied forms.
As I just love to eat as naturally as possible, ingredient wise, the featured delights sound awesome, so please NQN, include me in your prize.
Love pancakes we have pancake sunday everyweek great family favorite, maple syrup & cream, lemon and sugar or if were feeling really gourmet blueberries and syrup.
My favourite brunch cooked Mushrooms on toast. It really doesn’t matter *how* they’re cooked, but mmmm. Otherwise, as an occasional treat, there’s a lot to be said for a champagne brunch
Fried eggs, bacon and sesame bread roll with a freshly squeezed orange juice.
bircher muesli!!!!
i love it, i make it at home and always order it when I eat out.
my favourite so far has been the one at burnt orange cafe in mosman.. yum!
Poached eggs on toast and fresh orange juice. Yum!
I absolutely love the natural muesli at Badde Manors in Glebe. It’s incredible and comes with beautiful fresh fruit, natural yoghurt and the most sensational mango puree and raspberries. It’s a taste sensation and satisfies for the rest of the day along with their coffee. My happy hubby can’t go past their organic bircher muesli but always says he feels like he’s in his third trimester after eating it and will soon be delivering twins!!!! Still, he keeps on ordering it!!!
WELL. Let me tell you…There needs to be hash browns. Either the brick/slab/processed/McDonald’s style, or home made. They can be chunky and ‘piece-y’, or finely diced/sliced/shredded and well ‘stuck-together’ – think latke style. Or they can simply be left over mashed potato, formed into patties and fried in butter. I do not mind. But some form of fried potato must be present.
To accompany the aforementioned mystery potatoes, there are a number of options: tomato ketchup, jam, powdered sugar, CHEESE (of any sort), maple syrup, sour cream. Bacon never goes astray. Scrambled eggs will always be the superior form of eggage in my mind. Two slices of generously-buttered white toast + hash brown + ketchup = carbtastic breakfast sandwich.
….I forget where I’m going with this tangent. In short: potatoes are great. Fried potatoes are better. I am a piggy. The end
French toast with canadian maple syrup and grilled crispy bacon and caramelised berries. YUMMO!
My favourite brunch meal has got to be Sushi! My sushi fillings usually include fresh salmon or tuna, fresh avocado, scrambled eggs (mixed with sesame seeds), Gari (pickled ginger), and fresh salmon roe (yum!), wrapped nicely and gently in fragrant glutinous rice and Nori (seaweed). When I don’t have the salmon, I replace it with a slice of SPAM (i.e. the can meat). Rice vinegar, soy sauce and wasabi are absolute essentials for making my perfect sushi. I eat plenty of sushis for most days of my hectic working week, and would share them with my Aussie mates (to satisfy their Nobu fix
). This Anathoth Brunch Packs would be a sea change for my Japanese taste buds, but they are pretty versatile when it comes to trying new cuisines – that’s the joy of enjoying food isn’t it? An Anathoth Jam inspired sushi will be in the works, I’m sure they’ll make a lovely brunch. Thanks Lorraine!
for bruch, nothing beats french toast with bacon and maple syrup. and the bacon has to be a full rasher, not the diet stuff that tastes like jerky
Love pancakes and jam served when good quality coffee. Not good for the figure but tastes fantastic.
Ok, call me lazy, but brunch to me is anything that is leftover in the fridge, but if there is nothing in there because my son has beaten me to it, then i will do a lovely thick piece of toast, slathered with butter or alternately if i am trying to be good, ricotta, and cold sliced tomato from the fridge, with lots of salt and freshly ground pepper ! cant beat it
Ricotta Hotcakes with Honeycomb butter (Bill Granger’s recipe) I even made the Honeycomb for the special butter. They are light and airy but filling enough for a Brunch
light, fluffy, ricotta hotcakes with mango and strawberries. With much coffee. I’m with Mr NQN on the jam thing – slathered on crumpets at night time is the best way to enjoy it!
Far too many to even contemplate, so would have to go for a buffet which could linger into a really great day, with the right company. And of course it would have to include my favourite, baked eggs with shredded bacon and mushrooms topped with a generous dollop of cream, seasoned as you like, baked to your preference served with toast or crumpets
Brioche, french toast with caramalised berries and ricotta cream
Its not mine, but my son has a bowl of nutri grain & a spoon of anatoth strawberry jam every single day!
My favourite brunch meal is a smoked salmon omelette, topped with spring onions and dill. I love the eggs and salmon cooked so that they are still a bit moist. And this might sound a bit atypical but I love eating my omelettes with rice. Nomnomnom.
I can’t go past a great scone (still warm), with home made jam (in my case – apricot) and a gorgeous shantilly cream, for brunch. Simple and stunning. And of course, a cappuccino on the side
I don’t live in Australia but I will still tell you my favorite brunch meal anyway
I love waffles with maple syrup and bacon!!!!!!
Yum, that pack looks delicious! My favourite brunch meal is pancakes with bacon and maple syrup! Sweet and savoury all in one!
oooh – my grandmothers pikelets. Hot with jam and cream dripping down the sides. Yum!
Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, preferably served in bed after a l ong sleep in while hubby tends to the kids is my perfect brunch. Not that it happens very often so pancakes and delicious jam would come in a very close second!
Every Christmas we have brunch with the whole family, where we have egg nog, roasted strawberries, ricotta with melted chocolate stirred through, croissants, jam, cream and eggs benedict!!! The Perfect Brunch xxx
That’s easy…corn cakes topped with double smoked Australian salmon with a dollop of dill mayonnaise…mmmmm….i’m just salivating thinking about it!
Kaya toast with soft boiled eggs and a nice cup of black tea with a (long) dash of evaporated milk. Reminds me of my mum.
We keep chooks, so my favourite brunch would have to be poached eggs over grilled asparagus. I squeeze some lemon over the asparagus before I get it out of the pan and then grate some parmesan on top and then place the egg on top. Sprinkle it with some freshly grated salt and pepper and wash it down with a cup of strong tea, it doesn’t get much better than that!
Two words: Eggs benedict!
ooooh yum! my fav brunch meal has to be french toast with poached fruit and a drizzle of that yummy sounding anathoth rhubarb and red berry jam over the top with a bit of yoghurt on the side sounds fabulous
My favourite brunch meal would have to be bacon and eggs – with tomatoes, mushrooms and toast preferably. I don’t mind how the eggs are done – scrambled, fried or poached. A few months ago my hubby and I had brunch at a lovely cafe in Manuka, ACT and the bacon had maple syrup on it….was so delicious….definitely want to go back again some time. Oh and a nice latte is the perfect way to cap off a perfect brunch.
Smoked salmon, cream cheese and bagel or dim sum !
When the weekend comes I know I’m in heaven, to relax and enjoy a beautiful brunch just to relish and enjoy every flavour and if its with friends even better. Bacon and eggs tick all the boxes for me , turkish bread toasted and some of that lovely jam. Can’t wait for that weekend.
Fresh light croissants from my wonderful french bakery, filled with the best of jams, is just the most wonderful brunch. Would you like to join me, please feel free.
I like something a bit different, that I wouldn’t cook at home – Turkish Eggs are good – and a great coffee of course!
I have 2 favourites – savoury is of course bacon with french toast & hash browns and when I’m in need of a sugar hit, it’s pancakes with raspberry jam & ice cream!
Brunch always seems to be my second meal because I get early. What I have depends on where I am. Eating at home–Freshly made muffins or toasted brioche with jam, fresh berries and champagne. Eating out–poached eggs with crispy streaky bacon and sourdough toast and, of course, champagne!
My favourite brunch is, thick toast spread with avocado topped with smoked salmon, poached eggs & barbecued or grilled asparagus.yum yum!!
My favourite brunch meal is one shared with Grace(8) and Alexandra(4) ,my grand daughters after thay have helped me cook it. They adore making pancakes that are served sweet with syrup, jam or whipped butter or served as a savoury companion to sauteed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, eggs cooked sunny side up and crispy bacon.
They always insist on serving food buffet style so as each person can have a choice of what they would like!!
My fave brunch meal is quinoa cooked with raspberries, blueberries & strawberries. Once cooked topped with organic honey, organic vanilla yoghurt & a sprinkle of cinnamon. Perhaps I will try adding a tablespoon of Anathoth jam next time…Nom nom nom.
I love dark rye smothered in Jam or Honey ALWAYS accompanied by a cup of Irish Breakfast tea. Yummy!
Well, I would have to say eggs benedict as well. With smoked salmon of course. I am lucky enough to have my kitchen equipped with a fantastic Thermomix and the sauce is done in a matter of minutes. Yummo or now I think of it home made crumpets, with Jam. oh I am gonna make that in the morning. All done in my TM as well. How have I ever lived with out it.
Favorite Brunch meal is definitely eggs Benedict, delicious creamy sauce with sunny side eggs with oozy yolks when you cut into them! Yummo
Well, I am obsessed with making perfect poached eggs. So I always make my own weekend brunch at home – poached eggs, baked flat mushroom, little grilled tomatoes with oregano and some green stuff, either rocket or baby spinach, served with grilled home made sourdough and percolator coffee. Like you and Mr NQN, I am a jam fiend, so I follow it up with home made sour dough crumpets topped with fig jam. I just made myself hungry
Smoked salmon with eggs benedict – the hollandaise sauce cuts through any oiliness of the salmon.
Savoury muffins with egg, bacon cheese and tomato and finishing with some muesli yoghurt a perfect set me up for a late starter!!
My favourite brunch meal would have to be: pancakes with lemon & sugar & GREAT coffee. All magically prepared by elves in the kitchen while I laze about in the sun-room. (In my dreams.)
I usually splurge and get something sugary and syrupy, like pancakes, waffles, fried brioche… Mmmmm…
Cooking for the whole family on a cold winter’s morning I’d have to say nothing beats Crepes with lemon and sugar, it’s mouth watering just thinking about them, can I please have some now!!
My favorite brunch is scrambled eggs on big cafe style toast. Though your crumpets and jam description sounds pretty good too. Lisa g
Thick Banana smoothie with cinnamon, manuka honey and ice cream and Mayb a few pieces of chocolate on the side
I love making and eating Cocotte eggs with smoked salmon and chives accompanied with a french baugette and butter. So easy for the “lazy sunday” brunch.
nachos with a tomato and corn salsa! A bit random for a brunch but you can never get enough Mexican
Whip up a pancake or three, sprinkle sugar on, squeeze of fresh lemon till sugar opaque, a dollop or ten of vanilla ice cream. Nice cup of Joe. Now eat and drink while watching your waist increase with every bite, but who cares.I don’t.
I love ricotta- pancakes w berries and beautiful “real” maple syrup or eggs benedict w salmon!! Yum! I feel like brunch now
Avocado, ham and cheese melt, of course, followed by toast and a very good jam. What a wonderful combination.
For me, the best brunch needs to start with a really good coffee, then fluffy pancakes with a side of fruit and yogurt.
Sunday morning sleep in and then meet a a friend’s home for brunch. Each person brings ‘plate’. Often it is a birthday or anniversary celebration.Offerings include Danish pancakes, hot buttery raisin toast, savoury muffins, fluit platter, tomato and fetta tart, fruit juice, selections of tea and good home brewed coffee. And of course good company.
My husband love jam He goes without me knowing, to the fridge and eat a spoonful of jam. I prefer with toast in the morning with my breakfast
Oh goodness!!!
Too many to choose, but probably:
sweet – french toast made with homemade brioche (sometimes sandwiched with chocolate) with berries and passionfruit yoghurt
or
savoury – an omelette with buttery mushrooms or fetta/chorizo on sourdough toast or a crusty White roll with crispy bacon, cheese, gooey fried egg and baked beans….
(or a peanut butter and jam sandwich on White bread for something naughty but nice…and quick!)
I love the omelette my son of 16 cooks me on my birthday & Mothers day. He also makes great toast, juice, latte or tea to go with it, all layed out nicely on a tray in bed.. It’s the best! I love him for it because he wants to do it.
WAFFLES!!! I could eat waffles any time of the day – especially when served with cream and strawberries – naughty but SO delicious!!!
The best brunch consists of soft golden French Toast made from a French Stick, drizzled with real Canadian Maple Syrup accompanied by Orange Juice, a pot of tea and the sunday papers.
oh, if only I could still have brunch!- with four kids brunch never happens anymore. brunch time is now lunch time. But, if I was able to, I would have fresh, crusty bread, two runny eggs, crispy bacon and slightly sauteed spinach. A good strong coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice on the side and I would be in HEAVEN.
And please pick me – I have a jam fetish and a tea towel fetish! I want that tea towel!
Fruit salad when hungover
I have a few fave brunche meals, because my wife loves them. Most Sundays, I make fruit pancakes, American style (since I’m a Yank in the UK.) I prefer either pear and ginger pancakes, or banana and blueberry, using mashed banana in the batter to make it light, with a generous grating of nutmeg. I serve these with bacon and maple syrup. We bring that back from the States whenever we visit.
The other best brunch is french toast (eggy bread). If possible, I make that with brioche, or else with a light and absorbent homemade bread. Haven’t got round to baking brioche yet; soon, though.
P.S.; “Brunch”, not “brunche”! Also, just to be clear, it’s the maple syrup we bring back from the States. US bacon is rubbish.
My favourite brunch meal is on Sundays and we usually have pancakes. This delicious jam would be perfect on them
I have to start off with a cappuccino or I just don’t function. If staying at a hotel, I love the spread that is available and have a little feast ie: a mix of savoury and sweet
but if I’m home I’ll prepare an omelette with an Indian twist because hubby is Indian and I’m such a good wife!Free range eggs with fresh coriander, tomato, chilli, finely diced eschallot or green shallots, finely diced red capsicum and a little grated cheese served with roti.
It’s nearly midnight and I could not resist taking another peek
! Delightful how food gets people sharing their lives! Eggs Benedict seems to win hands down, but I liked the idea of those freshly laid poached ones on a bed of asparagus with lemon j over – yum – seven hours to breakfast: must have a look at that fridge
! Sweet dreams if you are still up . . .
For me it’s pancakes with maple syrup and a dollop of ice cream on top!
my favourite brunch will have to be yum cha with my family on saturdays! it’s hard to go past dim sims anyday!!
I always pick either EGGS BENEDICT or PANCAKES with maple syrup and ice-cream…Mmmm. And it always tastes better when you haven’t had to make it yourself. Anathoth jams are really delish…they go well with croissants, english muffins or as NQN mentioned, crumpets. I’m drooling a little bit now lol
I love ordering those thick pieces of fruit toast from my local cafe, spread with butter and a little jam. And a nice pot of hot tea to go with it….yum!
Weekend Brunch is always boring
grab a sandwich as im yawning
Thanks for the idea a pancake feast, enticing treat, the family will love in the morning
My favourite brunch meal would definitely have to be scrambled eggs on toast, finished off with a cup of green tea and something sweet like a muffin, slice of cake or some biscuits!!
Yum!
so my brunch meal is our family fav ( my son will often ask for this as often as I can make it) Potato Rosti, Smoked Salmon, Poached Eggs and Hollandaise Sauce with a side of a Peppery Rocket Salad. You could add in a good freshly squeezed pineapple and orange juice. HEAVEN !!!!!
I love french toast!
This is a tough one as brunch is my favourite meal! I’d have to say poached eggs with smoked salmon, spinach and relish/chutney/hollandaise (any yummy sauce really!) on seeded bread when I’m feeling savoury. But I’m also very partial to thick fluffy pancakes with ricotta, cinnamon and honey when I’m in a sweet mood! Having said that, put a brunch menu in front of me and I’ll claim everything is my favourite!
Call me Old Fashioned NotQuiteNigella, but Delicious, aromatic scones are and have always been my favourite brunch! With such a wide variety, I never get bored!
Love an omelet with capsicum, ham, smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes, and parsley on gluten free toast!delicious. Thanks for entry notquitenigella!
In winter: bacon, eggs and sauted mushrooms on toast.
In summer: baguette with rockmelon and Kraft cheddar (the stuff you find in the vegemite aisle).

I ordered this from a cafe once and now can’t remember which cafe it was…..
Toasted wood oven bread topped with sauteed mixed mushrooms and dotted with slivers of semi-dried tomatoes and a light sprinking of Persian feta. It was heavenly.

I quite like eating breakfast by my self as a treat now with two girls I never get to eat the nice stuff on my plate!
My favourite brunch meal is a smoked salmon scrambled eggs with cream cheese on the side. I had some in a New York Cafe and I dream about it.
I like having omlette with corriander, onion, and green chillis with paratha
Brunch to me is wonderful homemade scones with huge amounts of jam and cream…
Home made ricotta pancakes smothered in either maple syrup or agave nectar ( I prefer this as it is not as sweet and healthier!!) served with greek yoghurt and a freshly cut up banana! Yum
Another….crunchy granola or toasted muesli (a treat for me!) with thick yoghurt and fruit, perhaps a splash of milk, along with just baked home made croissants with butter and jam….and a cappucino
warm vanilla rice pudding with spiced poached fruits
Bacon and eggs, on muffins, with real butter, cheese and lots of sliced fresh tomato.
A big tray of sushi from our local restaurant. I know it’s not a conventional brunch meal, but it’s the favourite in our house. Fun to share and delicious. And no one has to cook!!!
Apple pancakes. They’re like a normal pancake, only that a slice of apple has been cooked into them. Dusted with icing sugar & cinnamon, served with a squeeze of lemon or maple or good old butter. Yum
I was just thinking about brunch food for our wedding recovery!
I would have to say very boring… croissants and jam. Mmm
A pot of Earl Grey tea and a huge stack of yummy pancakes smothered with maple syrup and cream.
My favourite brunch meal is
(two) soft poached eggs on top of sonoma bakers sourdough (miche) loaf with grilled haloumi, slow roasted truss tomatoes, basil pesto and a good grind of black pepper…
My Oh My…..
My favourite brunch meal is to mash some avocado, add some lemon juice and ground pepper and then spread it on top of a fresh slice of sourdough! But then again I am a bit of an avocado fanatic…
My favourite brunch meal will definitely be buttermilk ricotta hotcakes with whipped honey butter and a generous maple-honey, and on the side, a bowl of fresh fruit salad + a perfect cup of hot tea.
Has to be pancakes with lemon and sugar….divine, particularly if someone makes them for you
I made the best brunch this morning for my family. Bircher muesli with grated apple & honey, baked eggs & ham, melted cheese on top, and pancakes with red berry & rhubarb jam & vanilla yoghurt. Who needs to go out! (a swirl of Anathoth jam in porridge is also delish too!) Awesome jammy jam!
Absolutely, homemade scones. With Jam and Whipped cream <3 <3 <3 Yummy!
Im not sure if I would classify it as a “brunch” meal, more me just getting up quite late and eating breakfast at 11am on a sunday. I love the Rhubarb and Red berry jam, I eat it on a nice thick piece of french toast and make two pieces for my boyfriend.I saw it on your website when it was first launched and I had to have it. I drive half an hour to get my weekly supply of that jam so I can slather it all over my crumpets for my usual breakfast.
Yummy jam- my family love it! My favourite bruch is home-made belgian waffles, accompanied by fresh strawberries that have been warmed through with a couple of tablespoons of Anathoth strawberry jam and a drizzle of semi-sweet thick chocolate sauce. This is absolutely to die for! Man, I’d kill for one of those tea towels.
Love buttery eggy indulgent French toast (the thicker the better) with slatherings of butter and strawberry jam and fresh strawberries on the side.
Love buttery eggy indulgent French toast (the thicker the better) with slatherings of butter and strawberry jam and fresh strawberries on the side.

Homemade pancakes with maple syrup and ice cream
Italian brunch – zucchini fritters with garlic mayo, crispy bacon and fried tomatoes. Who needs lunch!
Often brunch is on the run, so I love a berry smoothie to fill my tum!
favourite brunch would be ricotta hotcakes at Buzz or coffee and banana bread at campos or anything someone else cooks for me!!
Too many to choose from but it would have to be ricotta, honey with stewed apples or mixed berries. In summer I love a mixed berry smoothie with LSA.
When I’m lucky enough to visit my brother in Paris, he makes a mouth watering “Croque monsieur” is a French-style grilled ham and cheese sandwich that is dipped in egg batter then cooked in a skillet. One is never enough
Eggy Bread or Eggy Crumpets – soak your bread or crumpets in a scrambled egg mix then fry in a little butter. Great with roasted tomatoes, a some crisp bacon.
My favourite brunch meal is bacon and eggs on the BBQ (then the boys get to cook them!) while I do slow roasted balsamic tomatoes and buttery mushrooms with croissants!
My favourite brunch meal is anything breakfastie… In fact anything breakfastie is my favourite meal at ANY time of the day – Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Linner and Dinner!!

Corn fritters with bacon, tomato salsa and basil pesto. Current favourite, if only because it was the most recent and suits these sunny winter weekends.
When I’m too busy to eat breakfast at work & suddenly I realise it’s 11am, I head across the road to the cafe & order an egg & bacon roll. It’s so fatty & heavy that I can’t bring myself to having it at breakfast, but for brunch I can justify it
Never will forget the
Brioche Doree and Champagne breakfast in Vanuatu – poached salmon, sweet garlic dill sauce and fricassee of artichoke spilling out of my brioche accompanied with great coffee, glass of
French champagne and a bowl of berries and creme fraiche – what a way to start the day!!
I love having scrambled eggs on toast as a quick fix and delicious brunch meal. Finish that off with a cup of green tea and something sweet like a scone slathered generous with jam would simply be perfect!

freshly baked Banana Bread! With the cost of banana’s every bite is soooo precious!
My favorite brunch would definitely be Yum Cha. A bit splurge but keep me full til dinner time.
I wish I could narrow it down to one…when I think of the perfect brunch, I think of being with people I love, chilling out on a day where I know this is most energetic I have to be all day…I also think of great coffee (number 1 priority!), depending on my mood maybe some poached eggs with hollandaise sauce (and a side of hash browns – I have an unhealth obsession!) or maybe a stack of fat pancakes, piled up with fresh fruit and ice-cream and lashings of maple syrup….mmmm….brunch…
Brunch… thickly sliced crusty bread, with creamcheese, sticky balsamic, smoked salmon, capers and spring onions. Served with a hot coffee. Simply amazing.
My favourite Sunday bruch meal would be the Moroccan Tagine, possibly with some veges like pumpkin, sweet potatoes & capsicum, some lamb mince, topped with goats cheese & pinenuts. Oh, and don’t forget an egg on top – to make it more “breakfast-y”

Big fry-up – usually it’s because i’m hungover and missed breakfast anyway!
Eggs Benedict – light and easy to eat – a great way to continue the day!
As I type this, my leg ham and Swiss cheese croissant is warming in the oven…oh to have a French boulanger or pattisserie in the vicinity!
Eggs benedict with smoked salmon, most definitely! With extremely generous lashings of hollandaise. YUM!
And a skim cappuccino to finish.
Beautiful.
There’s nothing like a simple stack for the sweet toothed! My favourite goes something like this….two pieces of lightly toasted sourdough (if i’m feeling really fancy, it’ll be the pecan and raisin loaf from Iggy’s), spread with a thin layer of jam, a generous layer of fresh ricotta on top of that, then a handful of blueberries and banana, and finally a sprinkle of freshly ground nutmeg on top. A coffee, the Saturday paper and 2 hrs up my sleeve and I’m set!
I am loving porridge at the moment, so delicious with a little drizzle of maple syrup!
Thick and chunky jam!! Thick and chunky jam! Oh me oh my, waffles a crispy with cream a whippy with some thick and chunky jam!
Eggs, bacon and grilled tomato on thick toast washed down with a steaming hot coffee. All day any time
I’m not entering as we don’t eat a lot of jam in this family. But at the moment, I’m loving eggs benedict. It’s my secret test for every cafe/restaurant I go too. If the eggs benie is good, the rest is usually too.
As a child, I was a great fan of my mum’s Crab Apple Jelly – on toast and on scones it was delicious! Was so excited to find it again in a shop in Darling Street Balmain – all my good intentions for weight loss during the holidays went out the window as I indulged in Crab Apple Jelly for brunch and the (more than)occasional afternoon tea. Yum!
I love warm scones with jam and cream, or pancakes with fresh berries! Thanks for another great competition! XO

Healthy and delicious Buckwheat pancakes, crispy bacon, yoghurt and maple syrup – very nice!!!!
German brunch!:)
-Crusty soft German rolls
-Home made berry jams,
- Fresh butter and home made garlic butter
- Selection of cheeses and sliced meats purchased at 7.30am from the little market in the square (you have to be there early so you can hear all about the wild boar hunt and how the wild boar salami was made)
- That organic Nutella that costs 10 Euro a jar
- Eggs: boiled and scrambled with herb salt on the top
- Yogurt with pureed fruits
- Green and red bush teas
- Espresso made from freshly ground beans (you have to use the wooden grinder)
- Blackforest cake…or if it is Christmas, home made Stollen and the fruitiest fruit bread.
Yes, all of this does fit onto a table, but you need an extension table and you can’t forget the cute little table decorations and candles:) German brunch is a real experience and I miss it!
Growing up we had ‘traditional morning or afternoon tea’ (and now brunch) which was always scones with jam and cream and a cup of tea and even now I love it. It’s always been a family tradition anyway and one I now share with my two children (now that I have perfected making the cheese scone!!).
Home made and still warm from the oven scones with lashings of a great strawberry jam, just like Anathoth does with whipped cream that you made your partner whip while you make a yummy coffee or tea to have whilst listening to some favourite music in the backyard on a sunny day. If the neighbours are having a sticky beak over the fence, then there is always enough for them, too.
My fave brunch would be:
- salad: with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, olive, beetroot and sprinkled with cheese, with our special homemade onion dressing
- poached egg and a sausage
- some bread to dip =)
Scrambled eggs on toast, accompanied by a cup of tea and a freshly baked scone with jam to round off a beautiful brunch meal. Yummy!!
It would have to be the simple soft boiled egg with soldiers
fried rice, salted egg and salted fish, fresh tomatoes… do it the Filo way! we love our brunches
Well, I’m an absolute sucker for beautiful bread and actually drive 1.5 hrs to purchase my favourites from Brasserie Breads, Iggy’s and Bourke Street Bakery and Infinity. Gorgeous, jaw achingly chewy, crusty loaves. It would be so awful to be coeliac and not be able to enjoy these delicious delights. This divine Anathoth Jam would make it a taste sensation or I’m also partial to sourdough with smoked salmon. Wouldn’t knock either of those back
Favourite brunch is a toss up between eggs florentine, waffles, french toast, and pancake shake.
Going out for bunch is always a huge treat.
Best pancakes EVER were the ricotta pancakes at Bills in Surry Hills.
Best french toast EVER was at Stefano Manfredi’s cafe in Mildura.
But, the stay in brunch closest to my heart is when I first started having sleep overs at my partner’s place and he made me shake in the bottle pancakes which he called “Shake, Rattle, and Roll.”
That is why I would like to win an “Anathoth Brunch Pack” so we can shake, rattle and roll again and remember those first heady days of “New Love!”
My favourite brunch meal would have to be Nasi Lemak! Together with crispy anchovies, boiled egg, sambal and fried chicken… yum!
THis is tough because I’ve had great Yum Cha brunches and wonderful pancakes but the best brunch for me was the last meal I had on a trip to visit my father in Toronto.
It was quite simple. A toasted bacon and cheese melt made with fantastic Canadian bacon, artisan cheddar and sourdough bread. A comforting, flavourful meal enjoyed alongside the fantastic company of family at Globe Bistro in Toronto.
My favorite brunch is runny poached eggs with sourdough bread, smoked salmon and avocado.
I never have time for brunch but I really love a bacon and egg roll watching my son’s soccer. Not exactly gourmet buy it’s still yum on a cold winter’s morning.

I’d start off brunch with scrambled eggs on toast and then finish it off with a cup of green tea and scone slathered with jam and some clotted cream!
I think breakfast is the meal of the day, so there are plenty of options to offer up as my all-time favourite. Home made crumpets with jam and thick yoghurt; home made granola with frui compote and yoghurt; sourdough toast with eggs of any kind; or a chicken congee. As long as any of them are shared with my partner and daughter and a coffee, I’m happy!
I love fresh warm bread straight from the oven with melted butter and loads of jam.
I normally don’t like processed foods but a really quick and easy brunch is buying pre-made waffles, popping in the toaster, popping a liberal dose of your favourite jam on top (I had an amazing boysenberry one once!) and eating it whilst its still warm! If you’re filling a bit naughty, whipped cream also goes nicely
Home made sausage rolls with my secret ingrediant of grated zuchinni and home made tomatoe sauce…. yum..I think I smell them now…
Definitely eggs benedict, especially when the eggs are all gooey – yummy!

Just imagine soft scrambled eggs sprinkled with black pepper on buttery toast, a cup of tea and scone with clotted cream and jam. Isn’t that just heavenly?
What a funny coincidence, I take my 87 y.o. neighbour shopping each week and Roma (her name) has such an awareness of food. We noticed the Anathoth jams and checked them out last week. Roma was very impressed with the “quality” of the jams. I snuck a tub of the Fig jam (her favourite) and popped it into her groceries as a surprise. I have been invited to brunch with her tomorrow after she gets back from church, so I will make her some scones. Should be delish with the jam !!! Food is about people and love, always.
Oh I just love brunch, I can’t go past eggs Benedict, yummy!

Eggs Rumble Tumble (as it’s known in India)…or scrambled eggs, but made with cream and real butter, fresh herbs from the garden and served with freshly made herb and cheese scones. Had this in Maleny (Qld) once at a place called Heaven in the Hills and it has become an all time favourite!

Porridge in bed on a cold Winters day,
Out for weekend brunch: Eggs Benedict is the way,
But nothing compares to Crumpets home-made,
Smothered in fresh jam, all hunger is bound to fade!
My favourite brunch meal would have to be pancakes with blueberry sauce and ice cream I don’t think there is anything better.
French toast with garlic mushrooms on the side – yummy! Delicious, quick & easy to do – exactly what a lazy brunch should be about.
Mmmm, yum cha, I love breakfasts from other cultures. One of my favourite childhood memories is of continental breakfasts in the ski resort we went to in Austria. Huge doughnuts with jam inside and thick, gloopy hot chocolate for breakfast followed by a ham and cheese baguette… delicious and filled me up for a long day skiing!
defiantly juicy BBQ ribs and lots of them
bacon, eggs, toast made with fresh white bread and fluffy pancakes with heaps of jam and cream
I’m torn between 2 favourites – Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and Thick French Toast with grilled bacon, banana slices and maple syrup and jam on the side. Simply just too decadent to refuse.
Definitely scones served with clotted cream, strawberry jam and a pot of Earl Grey!
My favourite brunch is omlette with spinach, onion and ham served with toast
Omelette folded over sun-dried tomato, freshly cooked baby prawns and finely chopped onions.
bubble and squeak …. left over mashed potato, pumpkin and peas fried up in butter with bacon, salt, pepper and at the end stir in a egg or two. yummy! Nice on hot butter toast, a cup of tea and the newspaper
I just love gorgeous, soft scrambled eggs on buttered toast. Simple yet deeply satisfying!
the best and yummy brunch is little cherry tomatoes fried slowly in butter with salt and pepper on toast and a side of bacon.
has to be Anathoth Rhubarb & Red Berry Jam on toasted turkish bread with butter. Add a cupa tea and a good friend and you have a wonderful brunch
My favourite brunch meal is pancakes with maple syrup – yummy!!1
Corn fritters made with pancake mix, creamed corn, corn cornels salt and pepper then fried in butter and olive oil. A side of bacon. Cherry tomatoes fried in butter with Anathoth Plum jam (has to be Anathoth jam…the best). Severed with a side of sourdough toast and tea.
I usually have savoury for breakfast when I’m out such as Eggs Benedict or something with asparagus but on those special occasions I always go for the pancake option. Particularly with marscapone cheese, berry compote and maple syrup!! I also love oat porridge in winter with fruit/nuts and brown sugar. Yum!
Waffles with hot fudge and salted caramel. I rarely indulge in brunch so when I do I go all out.
Crispy bacon, eggs, American style hash browns and toast with coffee.
Homemade pancakes – I have one with lemon & sugar, one with maple syrup and one with jam.
Mmmm…I’ll go the BIG Traditional English Brunch – sausages, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, also scones with Anathoth Rhubarb/red berry jam and whipped cream!!
A good fruit salad is a healthy and delicious meal for brunch! I love to include more exotic tropical fruits such as dragonfruit and rambutan to keep the salad vibrant and interesting! I’d love to try the lemonade fruit you mentioned in a previous post but I haven’t seen one yet unfortunately!
Eggs Florentine always goes down a treat for this Vegetarian. Add some grilled mushies and a quality espresso…..heaven !
Zuccini slice! Always full of flavour and always a winner with everyone!
B-acon Crispy
R-aspberry pancakes dreamy
U-pside down cake so divine!
N-ice, warm French Toast
C-appachiono, perfect roast,
H-am frittata…oh so fine!!
grilled mushrooms, poached eggs and grilled tomato on a wholemeal panini + tomato chutney yum!

hi nqn! brunch is my fav meal of the day! i usually start off with a traditonal chai latte and then have grilled mushrooms and spinach and ham omelette w/ toast!
it makes my day better!
Up until this morning it was pancakes, but our family has just rediscovered (and adores) french toast with maple syrup!
my pregs wife is constantly craving jam so i think this would be a great prize for her! my fav brunch item would be corn kernels with ham and peas in a pool of melted cheese. so calorific but oh so good!
I first brought this jam in New Zealand from one of the local supermarkets. it is the best jam ever. I would go to Auckland on work and always buy this jam, thanks god, you can now buy in Sydney.
Yum cha!!! (incl steamed bbq pork buns, prawn dumplings, mango pancakes….)
We have a B&B and one of the easiest dishes I do is Breakfast Skewers with fried eggs.
On soaked skewers you add layers of tomatoes, mushrooms, capsicum, bacon and par boiled sausages.
Can be cooked in a pan, under the grill or even the cafe press.
And best of all most can be prepared the night before
Eggs, scrambled with grated cheese and bacon bits, placed on top of toasted muffins. Served with a very strong mugachino.
absolutely love these jams and their pickles. Fave brunch is a tropical fruit platter, thick toasted fruit loaf with delicious jam and cream and a cup or two of rose and french vanilla tea
Crumpets with honey and peanut butter. My sound weird, but don’t knot it until you’ve tried it!
Blueberry pancakes with a dollop of plain yoghurt and smothered in maple syrup – delicious!!!
Crispy Bacon and Eggs that have been flipped in the pan served with sauteed Mushrooms and Wilted Spinach followed by a traditional Chai Tea and toast spread thickly with Raspberry Jam. After which my hunger is satisfied until at least early evening!!
