I quite liked having time away from the family (don't tell them!) including having a week on my own in Chicago in 2010. Now I travel with my family, which has opened new horizons for us. It is a good excuse to do fun things. I don't believe food on holidays has no calories - otherwise I would not have put on 2.5kg during our recent month long southern Californian adventure. Alcohol didn't help either. Killing myself at the gym to try to remove it as I foolishly bought some skinny jeans in the first week and now would have muffin tops if I wore them!! The AUD/USD exchange rate made shopping mandatory though - as a family we returned with 15 pairs of new shoes between the 3 of us I used to travel for work – on my own.
