DIY Dried Muscatels

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Cooking time: 18 hours

  • 3-4 kgs grapes (I used black muscats which have small seeds, you can use your favourite variety)
  • 4 baking trays

Step 1 - Wash the grapes well and gently pat dry on paper towels or tea towels. Place on the oven trays and separate any really tight clusters. Preheat oven to 100C/200F. Place the trays in the oven and set the time for 8 hours later. Turn over the grapes and then reduce the temperature to 80C/176F and bake for 10 hours. You can check them after 6-8 hours to see if they're done to your liking and you can remove the very small ones if they're done. Just make sure that most of the moisture is gone so that they can stay preserved. Store in an airtight container. These are wonderful with a sharp cheese.
