Hot Chocolate Christmas Baubles

An Original Recipe by Lorraine Elliott

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 0 minutes

Makes 6 baubles in 3 flavours

White Chocolate & Mint Christmas Baubles Makes 2

  • 120g/4ozs white chocolate bits
  • 3 candy canes
  • 6 large pink marshmallows
  • 30g/1oz white chocolate bits, kept whole

Milk Chocolate & Peanut Butter Christmas Baubles Makes 2

  • 120g/4ozs milk chocolate bits
  • 4 tablespoons/40g/1.4ozs mini marshmallows
  • 30g/1oz Reese's peanut butter chips
  • 30g/1oz milk chocolate bits, kept whole

Dark Chocolate Caramel Christmas Baubles Makes 2

  • 120g/4ozs dark chocolate bits
  • 4 tablespoons/40g/1.4ozs mini marshmallows
  • 8 Werthers chewy caramels, unwrapped
  • 30g/1oz dark chocolate bits, kept whole

You will also need 6 clear fillable baubles (from craft shops)

I make the white chocolate baubles first because you will end up using the same food processor to process all of the chocolate and if you start on the white chocolate you don't need to wash it in between. Because washing up is for suckers.

Blend up the first quantity of white chocolate and divide the quantity between two bauble halves. Place three marshmallows on top of the chocolate. Place the candy canes in a ziplock bag and bash it lightly so that they shatter and add them around the marshmallows along with the extra whole white chocolate bits. Seal up and tape (you don't want these accidentally opening). To make a hot chocolate, fill 3/4 of a large mug with hot milk and add the mix and stir.

Place the peanut butter chips and extra whole white chocolate bits on top. Seal up and tape (you don't want these accidentally opening). To make a hot chocolate, fill 3/4 of a large mug with hot milk and add the mix and stir.

Dark Chocolate Caramel Christmas Baubles

Blend up the first quantity of dark chocolate and divide the quantity between two bauble halves. Divide the mini marshmallows in two and place on top of the chocolate. Cut each caramel in three pieces and place them and extra whole dark chocolate bits on top. Seal up and tape (you don't want these accidentally opening). To make a hot chocolate, this one is best done on the stovetop in order to melt the caramel. Heat up a cup of milk and then whisk in the contents of a bauble and stir well to melt the caramel.
