Puppy Chow

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 3 minutes
- 90g/3ozs Chex cereal
- 125g/4.4ozs dark or semi sweet chocolate
- 30g/1oz butter
- 90g/3.2ozs peanut butter or pistachio paste (can also use sunflower seed butter)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 175g/6.2ozs icing sugar mixture, sifted pure icing sugar or powdered sugar
Step 1 - Place Chex cereal in a large bowl. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a microwave safe bowl on 50% power until chocolate is melted. Mix in the nut butter (if the nut butter is too stiff, microwave it for 10 seconds on high), cinnamon and salt until you get a smooth mixture. Pour over the Chex and with a spatula mix so that the cereal pieces are coated well with the chocolate mixture.
Step 2 -Place the icing/powdered sugar in a large ziplock bag and add chocolate covered Chex. Seal tight and then shake! Keep shaking and then separate any clumped together pieces and shake again until they all come out with an even coating. Squeeze out any excess air and store in the ziplock bag or airtight container for up to 1 week.
