To Market, To Market, May 2010

It’s that time again for another To Market To Market, the very popular giveaway that I do once every month or two where I feature the goodies that I am sent that I love (trust me, there are some things that I am sent that I don’t love and so they don’t make it here – just call me your unofficial taste tester ;) ). It’s been going for almost a year and I know that you look forward to it. The lovely people at these companies agreed to send out a pack of these items to some lucky Not Quite Nigella readers so that you too can sample their goodies instead of just reading about them!

Just leave a comment at the end of the story telling me which product you’d like to try and why. I’m very sorry overseas lovelies but these can only be posted within Australia (except for the Interro laptop cover/wallet which can be sent anywhere in the world). The giveaway ends at Midnight AEST on the 9th of May :)

ben and jerrys

Ben & Jerrys

I probably don’t need to enlighten you about Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. My last giveaway went gangbusters with ice cream lovers salivating over the chance to win a pint of the famous Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and this time I’ve got an even better offer: the chance to win three pints of the newest Ben & Jerry’s flavours: Triple Caramel Chunk (yes, not double but triple the caramel – Caramel Ice Cream with a Swirl of Caramel & Fudge Covered Caramel Chunks), Half Baked (Chocolate & Vanilla Ice Creams with Fudge Brownies & Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough) and the famous Phish Food (my chunkalicious favourite with Chocolate Ice Cream with Gooey Marshmallow, Caramel Swirls & Fudge Fish)!

Thanks to Ben & Jerry’s, five lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a triple pack with pint each of the Triple Caramel Chunk, Half Baked and Phish Food flavours! As it is ice cream, delivery will need to be within 10kms from the Sydney city centre (check out maps.google.com to calculate the distance), or alternatively, you can pick it up yourself from a location in Surry Hills from Monday to Fridays 9am-5pm!

sirena tuna infusions

Sirena Tuna Infusions

I always buy the large cans of Sirena tuna and make myself a tuna salad with them so that I can enjoy a healthy lunch. They now have these cute little flavoured tuna infusion tins in flavours like Tuna in Basil infused oil, Tuna in Rosemary Infused oil and Tuna in Dill infused oil. My favourite was the dill which was delicious just drained on a bed of rocket or baby spinach.

Thanks to Sirena, three lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a boxed triple pack with a tin of Tuna in Basil infused oil, Tuna is Rosemary Infused oil and Tuna in Dill infused oil!

jazz apples

Jazz Apples

If you like your eating apples crunchy (and who likes them floury, really?) then you might just love these Jazz Apples which are a new type of super crispy slightly tart (but not as tart as Granny Smith) apple available from April to June. They’re actually a cros between Braeburns and Royal Gala aples and they come in a small to medium size which is a good size for snacking (speaking as someone who never manages to finish those huge apples).

Thanks to Montague Fresh, five lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a box of 6 Jazz Apples! Due to quarantine restrictions, these cannot be posted to Western Australia.

interro laptop cover

Interro Laptop Cover

Loyal NQN reader Cherie (she almost read the entire blog over 2 days in December!) is the brains behind these fabulous laptop covers and wallets with her brand Interro. Made with upcycled seatbelts these laptop covers are customised to fit your laptop exactly and are sleek and are lined in soft fleece to protect your precious laptop!

Thanks to Cherie,  one lucky Not Quite Nigella reader will receive a laptop cover or wallet!  Cherie will also ship this item internationally so NQN readers outside of Australia can enter!

citta napkins

Citta Napkins

Paper napkins never need to be dull with these adorable designs from Citta, a New Zealand brand. I always used to buy linen ones but when I saw the pretty designs that paper napkin brands were coming out with, I had a change of heart. These two patterns are my favourite: the coral 25x25cms ones and the garden bird 40x40cms napkins. Plus they’re great for blog styling too! ;)

Thanks to Citta, seven lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a set containing a packet of 20 Garden Bird napkins and 20 Coral napkins!

be natural muesli

Be Natural Trail Bars

OK let me be honest. I’m not likely to use these as a trail bar. I don’t go hiking or camping and I’m never far away from food (I get anxious if I do) but these Be Natural Trail Bars are pretty good if you do. They have less than 3 grams of fat and just over 100 calories per bar and have lovely little specks of cranberry, strawberry and currants in them.

Thanks to Be Natural, five lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a box of Be Natural muesli bars!

magnum gold

Magnum Gold

When I worked in advertising in my former life we had Streets as a client and we used to get boxes of Magnums sent to us and they were used a bribery tools. You see ad men and ad women will pretty much behave themselves if they think that they’ll receive an ice cream reward. Mr NQN and I share them as I like the chocolate outside them but he likes the ice cream inside. The new Magnum Gold is a limited edition flavour available from now until the end of the year and has a honeycomb swirl vanilla ice cream with a double chocolate coating.

Thanks to Magnum Gold, five lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a Woolworths gift card to the value of $AUD10 ( a multipack of x 4 Magnum ice creams is $7.79).

royal pom

Royal Pom Pomegranates

Everyone knows by now that pomegranates are frightfully good for you and now they’re easily available. Until recently, they were imported from overseas but Royal Pom pomegranates are Australian grown which means that they are fresher and have better food miles. The Royal Poms that I received were huge specimens and full of perfect rubied red seeds. And don’t forget to get the little seeds  or arils out, quarter a pomegranate and flex the skin so that the arils come out easier (keeping them submerged in a bowl of water prevents little raspberry coloured drops from making their way onto your clothes!).

Thanks to Royal Pom, three lucky Not Quite Nigella readers will receive a 3 pack of Royal Pom Pomegranates (delivery only within 15kms of Sydney city centre).

So readers, leave a comment as to which item you’d like to try and why and you could be receiving it in the mail! Thanks again to these generous brands Ben & Jerry’s, Sirena, Montague Fresh, Interro, Citta, Be Natural, Streets and Royal Pom for providing prizes.

Best of luck and enjoy!

Lots of love,

NQN

    Hi NQN,

What an amazing list!! The Ben & Jerry’s is my pick – I have a girlfriend who is incredibly passionate about the B&J range. I keep wanting to try it but budget restrictions (mortgage!!) mean that I haven’t been able to indulge.

    Thank you!

  • 17. cityhippyfarmgirl | May 1st, 2010 at 8:39 am | #

I would have to say the Ben and Jerry’s icecream. Why? Because if I didn’t my husband would probably cry, and no one wants to see a man cry over lack of icecream.

  • 18. Celeste@Berrytravels | May 1st, 2010 at 8:49 am | #

I wish I live in Sydney so I could choose Ben and Jerry’s! But since I don’t, I will pick the Jazz apples. =D

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  • 19. Clarissa | May 1st, 2010 at 8:52 am | #

NQN, all of those goodies look awesome and lucky you for getting to taste them (and us for having a chance to get taste them too). Would love to taste the Royal Pom Pomegranates!

  • 20. Amy | May 1st, 2010 at 9:00 am | #

Being 6 months preggers, i’m craving for different ice cream combos than your standard fare, so Ben & Jerry’s is must be for me :)

  • 21. Mary Preston | May 1st, 2010 at 9:09 am | #

I just love the Citta Napkins. Long gone are the days of boring old white paper napkins. Each one is a little work of art. Pretty & functional – I’m there.

  • 22. bakingaddict | May 1st, 2010 at 9:10 am | #

They all look amazing but sadly I don’t live in Australia. Still I’d take my chances with the gorgeous looking laptop cover. I do like ‘green’ products. If I had a choice, I’d definitely go for the Ben & Jerrys – yum! Have a lovely weekend :)

  • 23. Kris Wall | May 1st, 2010 at 9:12 am | #

I’d love to try the pomegranates! After seeing Claire on Masterchef cook a dish with a pomegranate sauce, I’ve been keen to find some.

  • 24. Howard | May 1st, 2010 at 9:13 am | #

Love to try the JAZZ APPLES!
Mainly because I can’t stand the tartness of Granny Smith….but love their crispyness!

  • 25. Kelly | May 1st, 2010 at 9:14 am | #

I’d like to try the Royal Pom Pomegranates – I’ve never actually had a real one. I’ve had some POM products (like their iced tea yum) but never the realy thing. So I’d really like to be able to try them and have a new food experience.

  • 26. LANI | May 1st, 2010 at 9:20 am | #

  • 28. Gail Ellison | May 1st, 2010 at 9:23 am | #

    Hi NQN
I would love to try the Interro Laptop cover please.
My reason..I have a nasty habit of leaving the laptop on the kitchen bench (after checking out recipes, you know!)and it ends up covered in all sorts of “stuff” (no liquids yet thank goodness)
If I had a cover, I’d be more inclined to put it to bed, saving my laptop from a dirty face!!

    Thanks

    Gail E.

  • 29. Rosemary | May 1st, 2010 at 9:25 am | #

Oooh, the pomegranates please! I grew a tree which provided me with some lovely ones, but possums have colonised my garden, and get to the poms first! *waaaah*

  • 30. Andrea | May 1st, 2010 at 9:27 am | #

Hi Lorraine, all the prizes look and sound lovely. I’d like to try the Sirena flavoured tuna as I usually have the tuna in oil as my staple and standby! Thank you for the giveaway.

  • 31. KirstyS | May 1st, 2010 at 9:28 am | #

Ohhh… I wish I was in Sydney for the Ben and Jerry’s pack. But, since I’m not, I’ll have to beg for the second ice cream option… Magnum Gold. Yum! I am such an ice cream freak… I’ve been known to go through a 4 litre container in a week… by myself. *blush*

Although, if I was to eat healthier like I keep promising myself then I’d be smart to go for those gorgeous looking Jazz Apples.

  • 32. Becca | May 1st, 2010 at 9:34 am | #

Oooh, as an apple tragic I would love to try the jazz apples, speaking as someone who gnawed into a *very* disappointingly floopy red delicious (ahem so-called) last night!

  • 33. Leroy | May 1st, 2010 at 9:36 am | #

I would like to try the Ben & Jerry’s triple pint pack, because I am an ice-cream addict.

  • 35. Carol Lennox | May 1st, 2010 at 9:53 am | #

As a kid growing up in Broken Hill, we had wonderful fruit trees in our garden, alas no pomegranates! Luckily quite a few houses in our surrounds did.Saturday afternoons were spent ‘snitching’from these trees!!Little did I know they would become so trendy in later years and that you could do more than just eat them!
I haven’t had one for years, guess I just dont like paying for them,so It would be ideal for you to send me some!!!!

  • 36. Vania | May 1st, 2010 at 9:54 am | #

Hi lorraine! the ben and jerry’s pints would be so awesome! theyre so good that they are the only things worth getting fat for. the chunky chocolate bits with caramel ribbons. OH MY, salivating just by describing it :D

  • 37. Vania | May 1st, 2010 at 9:59 am | #

Without an iota of hesitation, I will nominate ben n jerrys icecream!

Winter = more reasons to stock on those cold winter goodness.

Why? There should be no reason to pick ben n jerrys icecream! it is simply a given. the king of all ice creams! no doubt.

  • 38. Samantha | May 1st, 2010 at 9:59 am | #

Hmmm…I’ve been longing to try Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream since I read it on your blog NQN. Perhaps I can have the triple pint pack to host an ice-cream party in the middle of winter? The guests will probably have to wear their thickest jumper when they come over :P

  • 39. Elle | May 1st, 2010 at 10:00 am | #

I would love a laptop cover! My 11 month old thinks it’s wonderful to bash my laptop around before I turn it on in the morning and any extra padding and safety I can afford my precious computer would be invaluable!

Thanks for the chance to win but more importantly, thanks for a wonderful blog!

  • 40. Lyn | May 1st, 2010 at 10:01 am | #

Apples, Napkins, Ice Cream, Poms… there is not a thing there that I don’t want to try – please!

  • 48. Alex | May 1st, 2010 at 10:25 am | #

I would love to try the apples – I totally agree, enormous apples intimidate me and I can never finish them off :( and floury apples are a crime against humanity and are fit only for horses or perhaps maximum security prisoners.

  • 49. Francesca | May 1st, 2010 at 10:31 am | #

Those Citta napkins are really cute, can never have enough napkins – I would love to add these to my collection.

BEN AND JERRY is your friend, lover and passion. The “foodie drug” which induces euphoria and intense sugar rush, leaving you in a trance. Who can ever say no to THREE PINTS OF AWESOME GOODNESS?

  • 52. Catherine | May 1st, 2010 at 10:38 am | #

    ben and jerry’s icecream!!!
simply because… I love icecream and never had the chance to try ben & jerry’s!!

  • 53. Alex | May 1st, 2010 at 10:38 am | #

Definitely the Citta Napkins for me. I’m only ever allowed to buy the boring own brand ones at the supermarket!

  • 54. Ellen | May 1st, 2010 at 10:50 am | #

I’d really love the gorgeous laptop cover because I do lots of interstate and overseas travel for work (at least monthly) and want the laptop to take up as litle room as possilble. My laptop is bright red – because that way it will go faster and who wants a grey or white laptop (or car for that matter!!). Standing out from the crowd is so much more important – so the laptop cover fulfils this way of life!

  • 55. amy | May 1st, 2010 at 10:51 am | #

  • 58. Saphire | May 1st, 2010 at 11:12 am | #

For me it was the Citta Napkins that spoke to me, this could be because I am actually planing a dinner party tonight but I also just love pretty and functional things and these tick both boxes.I would be happy to use them at a dinner party or even a romantic picnic.I could even get creative and use a couple of them to knock up some place cards so that the napkins and place cards match.

  • 59. Kylie | May 1st, 2010 at 11:16 am | #

    Hi Lorraine!

I would love to try the Ben & Jerry’s. Well besides the obvious reason that they are so awesome but the other reason is that they would make a perfect treat for me when I’m digging my head under piles of papers.

  • 67. Cristina Arganese | May 1st, 2010 at 12:35 pm | #

My guests always say my table settings look almost as good as my food so with the Citta at my next dinner party they will look very arty!

  • 72. Heidi | May 1st, 2010 at 1:00 pm | #

Would love to try the Ben & Jerry’s icecream. I made my own variety by accident the other day. Made a torta caprese and then used the last of it mashed up in vanilla conossieur ice cream. It was sooooo good! Can’t wait to try the B&J varieties though!

  • 73. Ruth | May 1st, 2010 at 1:00 pm | #

I mean the Ben & Jerry ice cream :)

  • 74. wendy | May 1st, 2010 at 1:13 pm | #

ben & jerrys!! i couldnt make it to their give away last last tuesday due to exams and it was sad… or the poms. i -heart- poms.if i was persephone, i wouldve had the whole pom instead of six seeds and condemned the world to winter forever.

and i live in camperdown which is 2.7km away from surry hills so i do fit the distance requirement.

  • 75. Danielle | May 1st, 2010 at 1:15 pm | #

  • 76. Cherie | May 1st, 2010 at 1:16 pm | #

I missed out on Ben and Jerry’s free cone day recently because I was a good girl and stayed at work. Therefore, I think I deserve the Ben and Jerry’s pack as a reward =) I’d love to be paid in ice-cream!

  • 79. Merryl | May 1st, 2010 at 1:36 pm | #

I’d love to try the Magnum Gold ice-creams. These sound like the ultimate chocoholic/ice-creamaholic pleasure sensation overload. On the other hand, the Be Natural Trail Bars sound delicious and would be much better for my waistline.

  • 80. Kristina | May 1st, 2010 at 1:40 pm | #

I’d looove to try the poms, as I’ve never eaten one before and have developed a bit of an interest in doing so lately!
    Good luck everyone!
    x

  • 82. Angela | May 1st, 2010 at 2:05 pm | #

    Hi Lorraine
I would adore the Citta Napkins! I have inherited my mother’s obsession with collecting gorgeous prints and these would be a great addition to the collection. They wouldn’t last long, though, as I use them at every meal!

Great lot of giveaways this month… I know I probably can’t enter this month…but if I can, can you add my name to the Ben & Jerry’s please? I’ve never tried their ice cream yet – haven’t been able to get to Manly…soon, I hope!! :) And I would definitely travel to Surry Hills to pick them up!! :) Thanks, Lorraine! :)
    Good luck, everyone!!!

The Ben and Jerry’s ice cream…… just looking at that picture is making me drool! Phish Food is my favourite flavour too :)

I would love to share a Pom with my father in law – he is Maltese and always shares stories of his childhood and having a Pomegranate as a treat during the war. Dont think he belives we could grown a lovely one here?

  • 91. Leonie | May 1st, 2010 at 3:00 pm | #

The Ben & Jerry’s without question – I’ve forbidden myself from spending any more money on chocolate, icecream or any other type of sweet treat (stupid masochistic budgeting…) The only way I can indulge now is at parties -or if some lovely person is nice enough to send me a sample in the post. (Yes, this is a shameless and completely transparent bid for pity. And there’s some subtle flattery thrown in too. For maximum effect, imagine me batting my eyelashes, coyly dipping my head and speaking in a cutesie little girl voice and resorting to any other feminine wile you can think of.)

  • 92. Darlene | May 1st, 2010 at 3:25 pm | #

I am so excited. I live in the United States and have the opportunity to win something made in Australia, a really nice Interro laptop cover. This would be great to carry my laptop in to protect it and be something very unusual, as I have not seen laptop covers like this before. Thank you Lorraine for having a prize that includes those of us that live so very far away. I will be proud to use it and let people know where it came from, a favorite site contest and site I enjoy following, NQN in Australia.

  • 93. Steph | May 1st, 2010 at 3:26 pm | #

    A mighty match-up indeed!

Definitely a toss-up between the two ice-cream brands – in one corner we have the innovative and elusive American brand of Ben and Jerry’s yet in the other corner we have the all-Aussie branded Streets with their new enticing product.

Very difficult choice indeed but I know that in my heart I would have to forgo the patriotism (with my head held in shame) and put my vote in for the amazing American concoctions of fudge brownies with cookie dough or the combination of marshmallow and fudge fish!

Knock-out blow dealt by the American contender.

  • 94. Hannah | May 1st, 2010 at 3:37 pm | #

Gosh, this was tricky… but I”m putting my hand up for the Jazz Apples from Montague Fresh. I’ve heard of jazz apples from blogs in the US, and I pretty much never eat apples anymore because they’re too often flavourless and floury… so I want this crispy crunchy sweet goodness! :)

  • 95. Vyanne | May 1st, 2010 at 4:03 pm | #

Oh Sirena tuna is beckoning to me like the sirens. I love using them in pasta and Nicoise salad. Their flavoursome, oily goodness is beyond contest!

  • 96. Lee | May 1st, 2010 at 4:16 pm | #

I just looove Ice cream and right now caramel and chocolate are vying as my favorite flavor. Id love to try the Ben and Jerry’s ice creams – they sound wonderful

  • 98. Kerrin @ MyKugelhopf | May 1st, 2010 at 4:47 pm | #

such a great series and i am sure your local readers jump at the chance to leave comments each time. i, out here in the alps, check them out, sigh and click away. oooh but not this time :) AND guess what – i JUST bought a new computer (went mac for the first time) it is still sitting in my closet, and once i pass a big deadline soon, i will turn it on. and perhaps celebrate with a new laptop sleeve for it ?? it would go perfectly with my messenger bag, which is made from truck tarpaulins and… seatbelts. very cool. fingers are crossed.

    Hi Lorraine,

It’s so nice of you to offer these goodies
Love them all as they’re too good to miss
I’m going to select one out of the foodies
The lovely Interro Laptop Cover by Cherie’s.

Winter is finally coming thick and fast
My poor laptop’s battery can’t really last
A specially handmade jacket is what I need
To keep my laptop from falling into deep sleep!

P.S. NQN always provides food for daily inspiration and food for thought, the perfect recipe for creative writing and food appreciation. Congratulations Lorraine for a wonderful site.

    Cheers,
    Jasmine

I would seriously love the Ben and Jerry’s Icecream. I live nowhere near within 10 kms of the city…but I swear I’ll come and pick them up in an icebox myself if I win.

  • 104. Bill D. | May 1st, 2010 at 5:57 pm | #

    Dear Lorraine,

I’d love the Sirena Tuna Infusions. They’ll make a great gourmet seafood dish, great in taste but still healthy considering I’ve been on strict advice from doctor’s to lower my cholesterol. A great food supplement for the winter and perfect for enjoyment at the fireplace reading NQN! ;-)

    Thanks,
    Bill

  • 108. Jenly L. | May 1st, 2010 at 6:24 pm | #

The Jazz Apples look so yummy I’d love to sink my teeth into all that Jazz. The apple photo is now jazzing up my desktop wallpaper, now if only this wall could pop!

9 more days to go, can’t wait to pluck them ;-)

A self-confessed Apple connoisseur who’s determined to taste all apple species on earth…

  • 110. Dee | May 1st, 2010 at 7:12 pm | #

After at least a year of eating the Sirena Tuna Lite in oil at least 4 times a week, my tastebuds are sure due for a change of flavour.

In fact I can hear them yelling “Basil! Rosemary! Dill”

  • 111. Sally | May 1st, 2010 at 7:24 pm | #

So hard to choose, although I think I would love to have the Interro Laptop Cover, what a great idea and they look good too. I just love Australia designs like this!

  • 113. Christine | May 1st, 2010 at 7:36 pm | #

I’d love to try those Jazz apples!

I’m always bemoaning the fact that you can’t get an apple with a decent crunch anymore. I’m so disheartened with all the floury ones we get nowdays :(

  • 114. Cath | May 1st, 2010 at 7:37 pm | #

There’s no doubt about it….has to be Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked Chocolate & Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge Brownies & Gobs of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough!!!

  • 115. Christine M. | May 1st, 2010 at 7:42 pm | #

I’d love to try the Be Natural Trail Bars. I used to bake my own healthy bars 10 years ago when I was single. With marriage, children, parenting and now juggling two jobs, that passion is now a thing of the past, but I’d love to get into the habit of baking them again. It’s fun mixing all the healthy ingredients (muesli, dried fruits, nuts and a secret ingredient or two) on the tray, push it into the oven and wait with anticipation of what comes out of the oven. They’re great for digestion, a good exercise for the teeth and gum and the solution to soothe a hungry tummy when stuck in the traffic.

Wishing NQN and all her readers a healthy life…

    Christine

  • 116. Emma | May 1st, 2010 at 7:42 pm | #

Hi Lorraine, I’d love to have that delicious honeycomb flavoured Magnum Gold
When I first saw Benicio del Toro & Caroline Correa’s TV ad, I’m immediately sold
It’s the ultimate gift for ice cream lovers and people with sweet tooth like me
Crusty on outside, soft on inside, as you Lorraine and Mr NQN can both clearly see
No dessert is as fulfilling as hearing the sound of the first bite of Magnum’s crust
Looking forward to get my hands sticky with all that honeycomb and vanilla while it last!

P.S. Is it tricky to hold an ice cream and a camera focus all at the same time? ;-)

  • 125. Fiona | May 1st, 2010 at 8:53 pm | #

Definitely want to try the Jazz apples, my husband only likes crunchy apples, and ofcourse in the summer – it’s hard to come by (and out of season) so if they are as super crunchy as you say… that will shut him up!

  • 126. si | May 1st, 2010 at 9:10 pm | #

  • 128. Annie | May 1st, 2010 at 9:28 pm | #

Hi! I would love to try Ben and Jerry’s ice cream! I’m at uni/work almost every day and weekends are spent at home doing assignments so I never have the time to go out to Manly to try it out :( Thank you for entering me!

  • 129. JackieT | May 1st, 2010 at 9:30 pm | #

    Hello Lorraine,

That Interro Laptop Cover is such a clever concept I would never have thought about using a seat belt material to create something as useful as a laptop cover. I’d love to try it and feel the texture and see for myself this wonderful invention of Cherie’s. It’ll hopefully inspire me to think outside the square a little and get rid of persistent writer’s block when working on stories for my fashion magazine on my notebook during overseas travels. Just goes to prove that food inspires creativity. Bravo!

    Jackie.

  • 130. Aleah | May 1st, 2010 at 9:41 pm | #

  • 131. Danielle | May 1st, 2010 at 9:41 pm | #

I would love to enter for the Sirena Tuna.

Would you believe that until I was almost a teenager that I had no idea that there was any other brand of tuna! That was the only brand in the cupboard in our house.

I Love Ben and Jerry’s! I first tried it’s deliciousness when I was on holidays in America. The only flavour I had was Half Baked, and ever since they started here is Aus, I have been waiting for them to bring in half baked and now they have!! I would love to get my hands on some of that!!

WOW! Love this month’s edition of Market to Market. =) Lots of great things!!

While I’m a huge fan of icecream, I’ve had my share of Ben and Jerry’s at Free Cone Day!

I’ll go for the Jazz apples, as a healthy alternative! Because who doesn’t love a good crunchy apple, and with a name like Jazz, who can resist??

  • 139. Kym | May 1st, 2010 at 11:35 pm | #

I’ve seen the movie (ad), now want to read the book, lol, no, just eat the goods. Those Magnum Golds are calling to me.

  • 140. Nick | May 1st, 2010 at 11:41 pm | #

  • 141. Rebecca | May 1st, 2010 at 11:44 pm | #

I really like the lap top cover :D I am a mad nut for recylcing, I try and recycle everything I possibly can (even my bus tickets and toilet rolls!) so I think this would be perfect :) Though…my compy is 15.4″, is that too big? Otherwise, I love the napkins, the designs are lovely, and I think they would also be good to decorate cards or handmade place cards :)

  • 142. Beverly | May 1st, 2010 at 11:53 pm | #

Oh Lorraine, you must be reading my mind! I’m about to go away and searching everywhere for a pretty but still sturdy laptop cover which has proved impossible with my non standard size laptop. Have not seen custom covers anywhere let alone as fancy as the Interro one! The timing of this months giveaway is just perfect – my laptop is on the ready!

I would love to try the BEN AND JERRYS! I don’t live close to Manly and I have been dying to try Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream after my sister told me how amazing it was when she went to the US. Hurts even more when they do the free ice cream promotions as well lol!

  • 150. Kat | May 2nd, 2010 at 2:05 am | #

Mothers and children strolled along the concrete walkway, their faces pushed dreamily to the wind. The children’s voices unfurled into the hazy summer air like coloured kites. Wisps of hair, nudged by the afternoon breeze, caught on their sticky lips smudged with Ben & Jerry’s icecream. Please let one of those children be me.

  • 151. vonnie | May 2nd, 2010 at 2:33 am | #

I’d love to try the ben & jerry’s icecream because it has been one of the long running products I’d love to try ever since I saw your post about the store’s opening. I’m an icecream addict and have recently been playing with icecream cakes so would love to see how things would turn out with some of the unique ben & jerry flavours!

  • 152. Carole | May 2nd, 2010 at 3:07 am | #

    Thank you!

  • 153. Maria | May 2nd, 2010 at 7:19 am | #

It’d have to be the trail bars this month.

Unfotunately I read a report by Greenpeace which listed Sirena in the shouldn’t buy category.

  • 160. sharon | May 2nd, 2010 at 10:48 am | #

Sirena tuna is the best not one of the best but the one. Never too oily or too dry just right and a delicious flavour that enhances any dish. A must for any cook in the pantry

  • 161. sharon | May 2nd, 2010 at 10:52 am | #

Be Natural Trail bars, goodness in every bite. These bars are great to have in your bag when you need that pickup at 3.00pm with that cup of coffee. Very yummy indeed

I need a reason to not do it and I think Ice-cream is it!

    :)

I’d love to have the Magnum ice cream! I love anything sweet and have an ultra sweet tooth. Thanks heaps!!

  • 180. Charmaine | May 2nd, 2010 at 9:26 pm | #

I’d like to try the Ben & Jerry ice cream. After seeing your posts about the Phish Food flavour, I really wanted to try it (!!!) but Manly is a bit too far for me. Then after your last post about their free ice cream day (which I knew I couldn’t get to… ).. I looked on their site again and saw Phish Food as a new tub flavour. I looked up their stockist in my area and went there on the weekend… but no Phish Food :( I’d love to try the Phish Food flavour. My boyfriend heard me say Phish Food and was a tad shocked until I explained to him it’s not a Fish flavoured ice cream. I’m sure he’ll love it too.

  • 181. Katrina | May 2nd, 2010 at 10:32 pm | #

    Another wonderful comp, Lorraine!
You can bet your bottom dollar I’m gonna go for the Ben & Jerry’s. I’ve never met a pint I didn’t like. :-D

  • 184. James C | May 3rd, 2010 at 12:31 am | #

    Definitely the Ben & Jerry’s Icecream :)

On the topic of icecream, you should try Serendipity in Enmore – they do factory tours and have the most amazing range… *drools*

  • 185. Faith | May 3rd, 2010 at 1:56 am | #

What wonderful products, Lorraine! That ice cream bar looks pretty delicious!

  • 186. Jess | May 3rd, 2010 at 7:51 am | #

Can’t go past the ice cream. I’m an addict and haven’t tried Ben and Jerry’s yet. At any one time I will have at least three different types in my freezer (currently there are five…)

  • 187. Kate | May 3rd, 2010 at 8:17 am | #

All about the Ben & Jerry icecream!

  • 188. reb | May 3rd, 2010 at 8:22 am | #

I eat a tin of tuna every morning for breakfast! And yes, some mornings it does take a lot of determination to get through the fishiness. But for a gluten and lacto free like me, they keep me going all morning and stop me snacking on food at work. And just think of all those omega-3′s.

  • 189. Daniel Cheetham | May 3rd, 2010 at 8:56 am | #

You had me at Ben & Jerrys. Caramel chunks, fudge brownie bits, marshmellow, cookie dough *sigh* All of my favourite things wrapped in a glistening wrapping of cardboard… could it get any better? I’m thinking… no.

  • 190. Em | May 3rd, 2010 at 9:09 am | #

I’d LOVE to enter and try the Ben & Jerry’s pack. I’d love to sit in front of my fish tank, eating Phish Food, as a threat to my fish to behave themselves, or else!

  • 191. Amelia | May 3rd, 2010 at 9:40 am | #

Nothing more that I love….. eating ice cream in winter under a rug on the couch…. i would love you to send me some Ben & jerry’s. :)

  • 192. katrina | May 3rd, 2010 at 9:54 am | #

    Hi Nigella,

My Mother in Law is coming to stay so the beautiful Citta napkins would be wonderful to win.

  • 193. Amanda | May 3rd, 2010 at 10:08 am | #

Live right in the heart of Surry Hills and have always passed by the grocer that stocked B&J’s. I’ve heard about the legendary Phish Food and was going to buy a pint as a treat for my birthday this week but an extra pint to share with friends is always a bonus! :D x

  • 194. Helena | May 3rd, 2010 at 10:42 am | #

B & J icecream pretty please. Bats eyelashes and cocks head sideways :)

Ben and jerrys is a fond reminder of my childhood days in singapore, back when we scooped icecream straight out of the pint in summer days (well I still do that now ;D)

and i live around surry hills so thats a plus!

    love!

  • 195. Pat | May 3rd, 2010 at 11:01 am | #

I would love the pomegranates to eat with my yoghurt. Yum!

  • 196. Ann-Marie Southwell | May 3rd, 2010 at 11:07 am | #

I’m attempting to construct a very elaborate soap dish with recycled popsicle sticks so I’m eating as much ice cream as possible. It doesn’t get any better than Magnum Gold!

  • 197. Audrey | May 3rd, 2010 at 11:58 am | #

Hands up for Jazz Apples. I had these in NZ beginning of this year and have been secretively praying that Aus start stocking them. They are unbelievably sweet and crispy!

  • 198. Li | May 3rd, 2010 at 12:00 pm | #

Hmm i haven’t had a chance to try B&J ice cream but i have heard many stories from friends about how great they are. I know that i haven’t tried them as I am a HUGE fan of Conneiseur Cookies n Cream and haven’t default from them since trying. It could be nice to see if B&J really does meet up to the expectations that so many have spoken of…

I’d love to try the new apples – the whole family love them & a new variety would be great to try. But we’re also icecream freaks & I’ve always wondered what the obsession with cookie dough in icecream is all about!?

  • 204. Danielle | May 3rd, 2010 at 2:07 pm | #

Now this was an easy choice for me ICE-CREAM!!!!! BEN AND JERRY’S is the best!!!being from W.A we don’t have their stores over here but my last holiday (Thailand) I was lucky enough to find a store choosing just one flavour was very hard…… I ended up with trying 5 of the flavours lol

  • 205. Mel | May 3rd, 2010 at 3:19 pm | #

  • 208. Ginnie | May 3rd, 2010 at 4:55 pm | #

I would love an Interro Laptop Cover. I’ve been looking for something that’s sleek. On a recent trip to Melbourne, to save on carry on baggage allowance and not wanting to carry a bulky laptop bag, I wrapped my laptop in a hand towel and popped it into my hangbag.

i’m surprised my laptop and my hangbag made the journey.

  • 209. Jenny | May 3rd, 2010 at 6:46 pm | #

    ben and jerry’s!

Your flavor is the sweetest thing in life
I’m addicted to your chocolate high
I crave you, I want you
Every cell in my body needs you
    Tasty like Hershey’s and Nestle

B&J, the more I consume you, the more I gotta have it

  • 211. Rebecca | May 4th, 2010 at 6:36 am | #

I’d love to try the new Ben and Jerrys. I feel like the current range in Oz is a bit limited (compared to the absolute smorgasbord in the US), so I’d love to see what they have on offer!

  • 212. kayleen | May 4th, 2010 at 7:22 am | #

Mmmm, Ben & Jerry’s. Heard of it but not tried yet and i only tend to come into the city for work (i’m in the heart of it). Can this indulgence be for me while at work; seeing as i don’t tend to get my hands on things at home as hubby beats me to it!!

It was a 18 degrees that day, but not even the cold weather could stop us from the ice cream indulgence!! I tried the strawberry cheesecake and peanut cookie dough sundae at the time! The three flavours featured here look soooooo ..*drools over keyboard* tempting!

  • 225. Teresa | May 5th, 2010 at 1:19 pm | #

It would be SUPER AWESOME to have an opportunity to try the latest Ben and Jerry ice-cream.. Thanks for having this giveaway, Lorraine. =)
My Ben & Jerry’s Pint Lock is getting very depressed and worried that it might need to involuntary retire soon because it doesn’t have any pints to test our memory of the pin anymore. T_T I think this comp might be the light at the end of the tunnel for it.

  • 226. lynette hendrikse | May 5th, 2010 at 4:49 pm | #

  • 232. helena | May 6th, 2010 at 12:50 am | #

Ben and jerry’s! Because I have the ben and jerrys pint-holder for good grip. And it will be a waste if I don’t use it. I also have b and j fridge magnets all over. Ben and jerrys ftw!

  • 233. helena | May 6th, 2010 at 1:00 am | #

Ben and jerry’s icecream because my pint holder is getting very miserable on its own! Ben n jerrys doesn’t even stop anyone frm eating icecream during winter. No one does strawberry cheesecake better than b&j! Will def look forward to more stores opening around sydney!

  • 234. Charm | May 6th, 2010 at 1:20 am | #

If I’m in Sydney, I’ll definitely go for B&J. But since I’m not, the Be Natural Trail Bars would be awesome. I’ve been wanting to try them for a while, but am just not all that willing to buy an entire box and risk not liking them.

  • 235. Chont | May 6th, 2010 at 6:56 am | #

I’d like to try the Be natural Trail Bars. Look like healthy, yummy, fibre filled snack that I’d be happy putting in kid’s lunch boxes.

  • 237. Ester-Triana | May 6th, 2010 at 1:40 pm | #

    A Magnum Gold,
    To beat the Cold.

    How you say,
    It’s easy.

    After I consume it,
    I get a sugar fit.

    The ideal medicine,
To help combat those ‘winter blues.’

    *********

    A little bit of chocolate,
really does help the medicine go down!!

  • 238. Di | May 6th, 2010 at 2:23 pm | #

I’m dying to try the Magnum Gold icecreams please! I’ve seen the new ads for them on TV and they look delish – besides I live on a street with a Woolies on it so I could use the gift card for my Magnums in no time! :)

  • 239. Vania | May 6th, 2010 at 9:49 pm | #

im so going for ben and jerrys icecream! no questions asked. id run through hoops of fire, hail and storm to grab one of those. right now im down with a terrible cold due to the fickle weather and im sure these three pints of sugary goodness will cheer my tummy up! :)

  • 240. DO | May 6th, 2010 at 10:04 pm | #

Give me 15 minutes and I can be there for those B&J pints.

Because as you know NQN, life’s too short to eat bad ice cream but my husband doesn’t know any better. Help me save his soul and reveal the luscious, creamy decadent goodness of B&J to his tastebuds. I need those pints!

  • 241. Lisa Hong | May 7th, 2010 at 12:47 am | #

Awwww BEN AND JERRY’S HALF BAKED Ice Cream! I believe dessert is definitely a completely different stomach and no matter how much food you’ve eaten as your main meal there must ALWAYS BE ROOM FOR DESSERT and what better way to top it off than Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream!
Would love to be sent some!
    Thanks NQN!
    :)

Sirena Tuna PULEEEEEZE!!! I have never seen this tuna where I live and the packaging is enough to make me drool. I love infused tuna (ginger is my favourite but like I said, I’ve never tried Sirena) especially because I do not have a sweet tooth. Savoury is my favourite way to go, and infused tunas rock! Who knows… if I win this tuna, maybe I’ll even blog about it :)

  • 243. SC | May 7th, 2010 at 9:44 am | #

Ooooo…Ben & Jerry’s. I want to go to there. I still haven’t been to the store so I’d love to try some to decide if it’s worth regular trips across the harbour.

Jazz apples please. Would be great to have a taste and see if they’ll do nice with pork or the classic apple pie. Thanks

I always put serviettes out, when I’m on my own or serving many guests. I usually prefer nice material ones which I have to match the tablecloth or placemats, but when I come across nice paper ones, such as the ‘Citta Napkins’ I love to use these as an alternative. The ones pictured have a really pretty design on them, and I have seen them in the stores and love most of them.

I would love to win the Interro laptop cover!! I do alot of events planning with my job for an IT company and I think the Interro laptop bag would be the perfect statement piece to take with me to business events when I travel around Australia. My work is also about to put me through a part time course so I would also get good use out of taking it with me to tafe.
PS I love reading your blog for venue and restaurant ideas!! You always give such detailed descriptions and amazing photos!

I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with ben and jerrys icecream! its a definite nomination. no questions asked :)

Why b&j? simply because its the only icecream that tingles ur tastebud like no other. what with all its chunky brownie pieces, or graham crackers or just the many chewy marshmallows swirled in the creamy goodness.

    Heaps of thanks and loves!
