Dear Readers, for the past few months I've been working on something very exciting that has come to fruition today. I'm excited to announce that we are launching the very own NQN travel tour company called Experiential Traveller! The Experiential Traveller is not a typical food and travel tour. It is about authentic experiences, fine food and luxe travel!
For years Dear Readers have asked me if I would hold tours of cities. It's been something that I have wanted to do for the longest time. And it feels like now is the right time. And I hope you will come along!
I'm so excited to announce that Experiential Traveller's first tour is an exciting international tour discovering the gastronomic destination of Peru! Regarded by many as one of the top South American destinations for food we will base this tour around the popular and renowned food festival called Mistura held in September 2017. For those of you that live to eat and live to try new things, this tour is for you. I am so excited to be discovering Peru's culinary delights together.
The tour comprises 14 days through Peru including Lima, Mistura food festival (with VIP access), Arequipa, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Cusco. Our journeys are focused on the very best food in a city. This can range from eating at the world's best restaurants to meeting acclaimed chefs, cooking classes, tasting local delights, eating in local's homes, stopping for street food to dining at chef's tables. We have meticulously designed each journey to capture the magic and authenticity of each Peruvian region and its cuisine. We will be tasting and exploring cuisine from the sea level to the Altiplano (Andean Plateau) in line with the concept of Central's Tasting Menu.
This is not a standard food tour that skims the surface of food but it's a rich and deep exploration of Peruvian culture and food. These food journeys open the doors to kitchens usually closed, private dining rooms and chefs whom people ordinarily would not have access to. You will get to hear from the people themselves and learn their stories and they may just divulge a secret or two!
We combine our food experiences with luxe accommodation, private transport and unique touring of some of our planet's treasures-you'll definitely tick off a bucket list item (or more)! We include special touches to make your travel seamless and comfortable with close attention to every detail.
A video about Mistura (from another tour company but hey it's a great video that shows you what it's like!)
We will leave no food unturned and no meal uneaten with food that you can only ever try while in Peru. We will also be joined by Peruvian chefs that will enhance our experience with their knowledge.
We will also be travelling in a small group (10 people max) to make each experience much more exclusive and personal. There are simply some things that can't be done with a large group. You will travel with like-minded foodies, share unique experiences, exchange notes, even a few recipes and dining tips and make new friends. This tour is also ideal for solo travellers or those visiting South America for the first time.
If you love eating, cooking, meeting chefs, kitchen visits, beautiful hotels and a small travel group led by me and a Spanish/English speaking concierge with VIP treatment then this tour is for you.
The itinerary will be released early next year as we are putting the finishing touches but it will align with Mistura's opening day on the 6th of September 2017 and will consist of a 5 day leg in Peru's capital Lima followed by 9 nights crossing the country to areas whose ground is less worn by tourists but who are rich in food.
We want this to be the very best travelling experience ever. We want to wow you.
Dear Readers, please join me on this delicious tour!
