Totally agree about a good roast at home in this cold weather. I have caught on with Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute meals recently because the recipes are so simple and yet tasty, love his rustic style of cooking.

Have recently pulled out the Gilmore Girls box set & am watching it on weekends with my daughter. We have our own mother daughter craziness so can relate.

Slightly ashamed to admit that after Masterchef hoping for inspiration(and not getting any), I opened a bottle of port (great for winter) and watched Burat again. also slightly ashamed to admit that it still made me howl laughing. So how’s about my raising the standard of culture at my place and watching my idol Hester instead? Blatant hint, blatant hint! And if I can later the the perfect steak and/or chocolate cake, all the better.
I’m trying to track down the latest series of Mad Men that’s just finished in the USA and trying to catch up on all the Downton Abbey episodes I’ve missed. These dvds would be a great watch for sure but I do wish Heston would put a happier look on his face – he has much to smile about! xx

West wing – again. Politics, intrigue, dilemmas. Bit of romance. I am interested in once upon a time though.
The program I love is Gardening Australia, especially segments about vegetable growing, gardening planning and composting because even though it’s mostly cold and miserable, on the nice days I like to get out into my garden and get it into shape for a Spring/Summer feast of food.
I’ve been crazily hooked onto Revenge! A truly Conceited story of deceit and high glamour, with so many unseen twists. Recommended!
What a talented chef….I’m loving Heston’s Feasts at the moment….what fun it would be to be a guest at one of his incredible feasts.
I am currently watching Downton Abbey, love the drama and I just love this period piece. Also am following Top Chef boy the things they have to make and in the time periods is amazing.

Once upon a time is my favorite at the moment. I’ve always loved retakes on classic fairy tales so am loving the popularity of that genre at the moment. And of course, every cooking show I can find!
I usually watch every food show around but I am currently watching the US version of my favourite UK show One Born a Minute.Its a real life look at a maternity ward and shows how the miracle of giving birth can be so different for people.A word of warning though.This show shows a lot of detail so don’t watch if you have not already had kids!

I’m watching Downton Abbey as I got hooked on it from the very first episode.
Apart from Masterchef and as many of their participants’ cooking shows as I can catch on the run, I’m religiously recording River Cottage on the ABC. A friend at work put me on to it and there’s something very refreshing (read unrehearsed) about the way this chef cooks. I also love Jamie but he’s off air, Heston Blumenthal of course, my recorded DVDs of Nigella and Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam series. Do i love cooking shows? Yes I do!!!!

! Initially some of his chemical experiments and deconstructions seemed a tad too much ‘playing’ with food. But lately I have actually enjoyed his imagination so much based on historical research. And I have seen one or two of his lessons on how to cook simple food better and enjoyed these immensely. So would absolutely love to have the video for more ‘research’ 
! What am I watching? The very addictive and relaxing ‘Masterchef’, of course, and as much of ‘Food Safari’ as I can find. Adore Maeve O’Meara’s way of presenting stuff!!
Mad men season 5 for us. Sooooo good! I’d love to win the DVD – aside from being a massive Heston fan (we are hoping to go to Dinner in September), having a small baby means we don’t get out as often as we would like. Being able to cook the perfect steak or chicken at home would make our confinement over the winter months a little more bearable

Offspring, Offspring, Offspring!!!! This has to be the best show on tv!! It is an Australian television comedy/drama centered around Dr.Nina Proudman and her family as they navigate the chaos of modern life. Nina struggles with bouts of uncertainty, which both help and hinders her in her quest for love and balance in modern life. She has flashbacks, and fantasy sequences filled with graphic animation. Such an amazingly fabulous cast, my husband and I cannot wait each week to see what chaotic drama ensues.
my three girls ages 3,7 and 9 and even my big butch husband are all totally addicted to cake boss. Seeing a big italian family cook, fight and find joy through working together in the kitchen making amazing cakes is completely addictive.it is rivetting family entertaining at its best and has inspired my girls to cook with me in the kitchen each weekend.
I enjoy watching the GRaham Norton show – always interesting and a good laugh.
Somewhat embarrassing but I am currently addicted to NZ’s next top model – just have to know who will be eliminated next!

oh love Heston, I managed to see the roast chicken episode on SBS but then the next week when I turned in it was back to Heston’s feasts which I already have the DVD of! The series I’m watching now is Mad Men season 5, not so much about the food unless you want pot roast but definately about the style!!!!

Right this second, Chipwrecked is on the tv for the gazillionth time.
My 4 and 2.5 year old daughters are obsessed with the chipmunks and chipettes.
At least we’ve moved on from the Chipmunks Squeakquel – my girls were starting to sing and dance along. Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” is cringeworthy when two little girls are doing it, even if the lyrics are not spot on, e.g. “All the single legs, all the single legs, put your hand up with the rain on it…”
The adults in the house enjoy Modern Family, Community, Entourage, True Blood and Survivor.
I just, FINALLY, hired chocolat to watch. I am absolutely obsessed with chocolate and have never seen this movie. Just finished the book and going to watch the movie tonight. Can’t wait!

Alchemists Turn to Cooking, tonight’s episode was about Heston. My 16 year old daughter, who has aspergers, has recently discovered Heston and is finally showing some interest in food, and it’s preparation. She would be so happy to be able to watch Heston whenever she chose, (so would I, lol)

I’m watching Last man standing, it wasn’t funny initially, and it still isn’t. But I haven’t got anything else to watch
TITANIC for the “upteenth” time! It’s my husbands favourite movie and we own it on video (4 copies – don’t ask! – one of them is a special limited edition in a collectors box)) and 2 x dvd – we don’t own a blu ray or we’d probably have it on that as well. A few months back I asked my husband if he’d like to go to the movies and he replied “Only if we see the Titanic!”. So off we went to see the Titanic in all it’s glorious 3D. Although I have to be honest the 3D version was pretty awesome!
I’m currently watching The little Paris Kitchen with Rachel Khoo. It is amazing to see that she runs a restaurant and produces amazing food in her appartments tiny kitchen with only a toaster oven and camping stove!Shows that there is really no excuses for not making fabulous food.

I alternate between Torchwood : Children of the Earth and Masterchef. I watch Masterchef with my kids and my sons literally groan when they see the food and say, I’m so hungry even though they’ve just had dinner! Torchwood is for me without the kids around.

I’m enjoying watching DOWNTON ABBEY. They do have a lot of scenes where they are dining. Fine dining at it’s best I must say.

I can’t bear to miss an episode of Castle at the moment. Love this show and find I laugh out loud at Nathan Fillian despite the show being about murder and mayhem. Laughter is the best medicine.

I’m a bit late joining the True Blood bandwagon… but on a recent week off work after our honeymoon, my husband and I managed to spend one entire day of that watching the first season in one sitting! I’m not a Twilight fan… but this ain’t no Twilight
The only downside is, as we watch a few episodes every night, working though seasons 2,3 and 4, the housework is getting somewhat neglected – oh well, plenty of time to catch up on that as we wait for season 5 to be released!

I have just finished watching season 1-9 of Scrubs on DVD. For a change of pace I am about to start of Spooks. It is too windy for our TV to actually pick up any stations at the moment, so we are watching TV on DVD.
I’m currently rewatching ‘Treme’. This series is amazing, about the lives and music of people in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Excellent series.

I agree with so many of the previous posts – Heston is brilliant. It is wonderful to have someone look outside the square and find a new approach to cooking. At the moment I am watching (and have been for ages) QI with Stephen Fry. Such witty banter and nonsense wrapped around very interesting facts. Like a good recipe this program is the perfect combination of ingredients. In this case clever and intelligent guests with wicked senses of humour, a bit of nonsense (never goes astray) and some very interesting, if at times obscure, pieces of information.
I can’t watch a food show without feeling hungry. Not too good for my diet!
So I am currently watching ‘Kings of Anarchy’. Mainly for one reason – Jax!

Sooo entertaining their first challenge (Manila) was Balut – fertilized duck egg. They did so well to eat it jetlagged at the end of a long day, would like to think I could the same in the moment. Although I’d rather eat one of Heston’s creations that looked like Balut but made of something sweet and yummy instead……

I’m watching (and loving) Touch. I love how everything connects in the end of each episode.
At the moment I’ve just gotten into TrueBlood season 1…. Boy what have I been missing out on I just couldn’t stop myself 5hrs gone just like that! I had just finished Shameless the USA version, OMG love it!! And on free to air so happy Winners & Losers are coming back on.
I’ve just seen at the cinema What To Expect When Your Expecting, and I would highly recommend it for a feel good time!
Talking about science and Heston, I’m watching the past seasons of Dexter on DVD. He’s a wicked scientist too!
Well they all seem to be food related shows but one of the shows I am watching is French Food Safari. It is such a fantastic series. This time last year it started screening on SBS just before we left for our trip to Paris (which I booked for myself, my mum & dad for my mum’s 50th birthday!) it was screened at perfect timing for us and we got in 1 or 2 episodes before we left. Now that a year has marched on we are reminiscing watching the series again (we have the DVD as well as it being on tv again) and reading the beautiful book which I brought as well!! When it comes to food and France we are slightly obsessed and this series combines our 2 loves!! *sigh……
I am watching Jamie’s 30 minute meals for the 10th time and can’t get enough. I have tried about 75% of the meals already.

We are watching the Walking Dead. I cover my eyes on the scary bits but love the drama of it.

I love watching Tribal Wives and learning about other cultures and their diverse way of living. Some of it is confronting and hard to watch but, the rest of it is fascinating and it makes you think about how we live and how completely different and spoilt most of us are and yet we still take a lot of things for granted. It’s quite touching.
I’m watching Game of Thrones (and reading the books!), Heston on SBS (even the repeats!) as well as Masterchef!

I’m really hooked on Once Upon a Time at the moment! I love the different twist on the fairy tale theme – and the fact that a lot of the fairy tale character’s stories intertwine. I can’t get enough!
I’m watching Qi right now because its all about real interesting facts and its smart, funny, thinking kind of show
Game of Thrones and River Cottage. Love Hestons approach but also thoroughly enjoy the self sufficient grow your own attitude of Hugh – for me he has made the biggest impact to Britain’s attitude to what they eat. Plus it reminds me of home.
Would love to be able to cook like anyone, let alone Heston! Me + cooking = disaster… unless it’s scrambled eggs or a simple bolognese sauce!
A TV show I’ve been getting into recently is Doctor Who with David Tennant as the Doctor. I’d never really sat down to watch too many episodes before, but my dad & I have decided that we have to watch it every day! And I have to admit that I love it!

I’m so into the Once a time now… Very interesting story line and that’s what I always want to know in any series or fairy tale that “what is like the life after marriage???” where they normally only ended when the couple finally be together.
We watched an episode of the series and it was amazing how hard it is to cook eggs
LOL and we did try Heston’s method but we failed miserably will need to try again 
Everyone’s so into Once Upon A Time but lol i don’t really get the story line…and I think i’m a little worried that if I start I wont be able to stop watching it

With the cold weather, I have to admit it is footie season in our household but I have just got up to date with a great sci-fi series from the US called Eureka – very funny and thought provoking at the same time.
I use to like watching Veronica Mars too

We watched The Amazing Spider Man the other day and really liked it.
When my 3 little ones aren’t watch nick jr (minuscule and Shaun the sheep are my favourite,shhh) I do love watching eastenders on uktv. Hubby is making me sit through the tour de France before I get to watch EE.

I work at home so am re-watching Criminal Minds from the beginning. It has to be stuff you’ve watched before when you work. I have also started watching Bunheads which is the new Amy Sherman-Palladino show and Newsroom which is Aaron Sorkins new show. They couldn’t be more different but I’m all for variety.
I’m addicted to Masterchef. Think the cold weather has me loving the show more. Love the array of guest chefs and styles. Think it’s inspirational and a positive reality tv show.

I am re-watching Dawson’s Creek! It’s amazing how instantly it takes me back 12-15 years! The clothes, the music, the fact that they don’t have mobiles, Internet at their fingertips or social media! And Pacey requested “frosted tips” at the hairdressers! Lol. How I miss the simplicity of the late 1990s!
