NQN Competition: Win 1 of 2 Cupcake Couriers!

Pink Cupcake Courier

**THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED, THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR ENTRIES!**

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNERS!

Carolyn W.
Emma G.

Look out for our next competition to start very soon! :)

Yes for all of you Cupcake fans (and realistically, who isn’t a Cupcake fan) I have the ultimate competition for you. The lovely people at the Cupcake Courier Company, makers of the ultimate cupcake transporter is giving away a Cupcake Couriers to two lucky NQN readers.

For those of you who haven’t been near a television or the internet, the Cupcake Courier is a three layer stackable cupcake transporter that fits 12 cupcakes or muffins per tray that has Oprah, Rachael Ray, Jessica Alba and Jennie Garth swooning (and we know that Bree Van der Kamp probably has one of these in her cupboard, but you know she’s always politely but firmly ask for it back afterwards). Lady O called it one of the top 10 best Innovative products.

Blue Cupcake Courier

It will ensure that your hard work decorating these babies will not be ruined en route and can also be used for storage for up to one week. It also comes in 4 colours, Blue Sky, Lemongrass, Petal Pink and Saffron Yellow.

All you have to do is tell me (or show me via a photo) of what flavour of cupcake you’d want to make to put in your Cupcake Courier. Add your entry via a comment to this story. You can enter once daily.

The competition is for Australian residents only (sorry overseas readers but it’s due to the large size and costs of sending these overseas). But they are also available to purchase overseas so you won’t feel like you’re missing out!

The competition ends midnight AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time) on the 23rd of July.

OH MY GOD I need one of those pronto. Preferably pink. I’ll be entering every day.

Sorry for the caps, I just had my morning caffeine shot.

Today’s entry: banana cupcakes with cream cheese icing. And sprinkles, of course. Delish. http://www.flickr.com/photos/9632236@N08/2543679729/in/set-72157605255997013/

    Hey darl,
Where do you buy the white one?? I can’t find where to buy the white one!!

    competition entry:
Ultimately I would have a different flavour for each level!
But I would love to load it up with apple crumble cupcakes complete with dessicated coconut in the crumble, drizzled with a caramel sauce.

has to be my favourite – chocolate cupcakes with marshmallow icing!

  • 5. Nic | June 12, 2008 at 10:35 am | #

I am so pleased that these have finally arrived in Australia at last! They are the best invention since sliced bread :)

As for my entry, my tastebuds tell me Jaffa Mud Cupcakes are the order of the day. Slathered in chocolate ganache and topped off, of course, with a lovely, shiny, orange Jaffa! :D

    oh oh
I’ve wanted one of these for ages. I usually make my own cupcake origami boxes to transport them in (to sit safely within a container or large box)- making each individual box can be tiring! (but I’m becoming a pro!)

    Here are my cuppies:
    They are:
    -caramel filled chocolate cupcakes
    -with caramel fudge icing
-and a macadamia butterscotch on top!

I would make dark chocolate and coffee marble cupcakes and drizzled with a dark chocolate glaze and sprinkled with dark chocolate drops.

If only someone would make this for me cos i can’t bake, neither can my dysfunctional electric oven.

Chocolate mud cupcakes with a hot fudge topping.
Oh, with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips (not the cheap ones, but chips of real dark chocolate). Mmmmmmmmm.

  • 18. Sharnee | June 12, 2008 at 2:18 pm | #

Oh, what a great idea! No more icing-stuck-to-the-top-of-the-container!

I don’t have a photo but I would make some passionfruit cupcakes with thick, buttery, passionfruit ice cream! Yum! They may not make the cupcake courier (because they’d probably be put in my mouth first!)

  • 19. Terina | June 12, 2008 at 2:42 pm | #

Mmm white chocolate cupcakes with thick vanilla butter icing! Yummmmm!

  • 20. Cindy | June 12, 2008 at 2:50 pm | #

Ohhhh, absolutely any of the sweet cupcakes you can find here : http://cupcakestakethecake.blogspot.com/

How could you choose just one ?? (unless it was one of each, of course :D )

*Some* of the savory ones look alright, but to me, a cupcake isn’t a cupcake unless it’s sweet and covered in frosting !

  • 21. Carol | June 12, 2008 at 2:51 pm | #

I’d make mango coconut cupcakes – bit like a pina colada… Yummo!!!

  • 22. Claire | June 12, 2008 at 3:07 pm | #

  • 40. Moya Lum | June 12, 2008 at 10:13 pm | #

Love your blog, I get to enjoy the food with none of the calories! My entry would be something quite simple yet luxurious on the tongue.
Saffron flavoured cupcakes with vanilla and a creamy butter icing decorated with little bits of preserved orange peel and crystalised pear, maybe even a tiny dice of the two in the cakemix itself, yum! Now I’ll have to really make up a recipe for this.

The Cupcake Courier would have been really handy when my family helped me make 6 dozen cupcakes for my wedding cake (although we only iced about half that amount) and then transported them for my cupcake tier (and fruitcake top)

Here’s a pic of them on the trolley in the handmade origami boxes my bridesmaid and I folded and folded and folded….

Choc and Vanilla Cupcakes with Pink Bakers Frosting (like the artifical cream in a jam donut) – my parents in law are bakers so we made this at home with the special bakers margarine!

Today’s cupcakes (and I actually made these today, so they really are today’s cupcakes): coconut and lemon cupcakes with lemon icing, topped with toasted coconut.

They’re getting two thumbs up from my children – if only I had an appropriate container I could handily carry them into work and share the joy amongst my colleagues …

mmmm… Banana Walnut cup cakes. I didnt take a photo when I made them but this is the recipe
    http://www.cupcakerecipes.com/bananarecipe.htm
Some I assembled as per the recipe (cut in half horizontally)and some I kind of scooped out a cone shape from the top and then jammed in the filling and bananas and cream.
Either way absolutely delish but impossible to transport conventionally!

  • 69. Anita | June 14, 2008 at 10:56 pm | #

A great idea for a small picnic would be to have three different types of cupcakes/muffins – one for each layer of the cupcake courier.
I would choose pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese icing for a starter; cheese, bacon and chive muffins for a main; and chocolate hazelnut cupcakes covered in chocolate ganache for the desert.

  • 70. melissah | June 14, 2008 at 11:23 pm | #

    The Cupcake Couriers are gorgeous!

The cupcakes I would like to carry in them are raspberry cheesecake cupcakes with a decadent white chocolate ganache and raspberries on top!

  • 71. sparklygreenknickers | June 15, 2008 at 12:33 am | #

Yum, so many delicious suggestions already. My first answer would be hummingbird cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, but like someone else suggested – I’d like different flavours for each layer! How about lemon yoghurt for the second layer, and rhubarb for a third. Mmmm, making me hungry just thinking about it!

  • 72. Julia Oberhardt | June 15, 2008 at 9:56 am | #

I saw these months ago, & was wondering how I was going to get one in Australia! How exciting it is to know it is possible. My choices now would be for each layer:
    Pistachio Zinger
Carrot cupcakes with Cream cheese frosting
    Pecan Coffee Crunch…
    hmmm yummmmm!..Julia

Today’s cupcake choice for me is the 4 dozen vanilla cupcakes and 1 dozen chocolate cupcakes I’ll have to make in a few weeks time for my daughter’s cupcake decorating 8th birthday party.

I’ll use Nigella’s recipe, of course. There’ll be about 8 different coloured fondants, cutters, dusts, sprinkles and icing roses, enough for 8 children to make an enormous mess with. I’m expecting the carpet will be edible by the time it’s done.

Imagine how lovely they’d look in the cupcake courier ….

  • 75. Marcia | June 15, 2008 at 12:09 pm | #

My children voted for the cupcake courier to be filled with Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and topped with shavings of white chocolate!

  • 76. Adrasteia | June 15, 2008 at 3:08 pm | #

Something a little fancier today: some Gateau Surprise Chocolat Pistache made from a recipe posted by Heidi at 101 Cookbooks.

    http://www.101cookbooks.com/archives/000143.html

I love these cupcakes, chocolate and pistachio go so beautifully together, just like cupcakes and the cupcake carrier ;)

  • 77. Narelle Steckyj | June 15, 2008 at 8:05 pm | #

NQN, You have the best competitions. I love food and love your website. My favorite cupcake would have to be – Tiramisu….a rich chocolate cupcake with Belgian milk chocolate icing with a shot of expresso and garnished with mascaphone and a curl of chocolate. Yummo!

  • 78. Carolyn | June 15, 2008 at 10:30 pm | #

I only just found your site, and loving it!!!

My 1st entry will have to be:
Fragrant cinnamon cupcake with chocolate bits, topped with fresh cream and chocolate honeycomb. ;)

  • 79. Fiona | June 15, 2008 at 10:54 pm | #

How have I only found this now?!?

Currently, I’m going through a nuts phase. I would put almond and orange cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing in these cute-as-a-cupcake courier. They sure as heck beat transporting cupcakes in shoe boxes ala me-right-now. Plus I’m running out of shoe boxes…I guess I could just buy more shoes ;)

    boo hoo…i can’t enter :’(
my cupcakes are not worth eating without the joy of transportation in the cupcake courier…i can hear them from here shedding drips of icing in the kitchen at the thought if it all…

Wow, my knees just went week at the sight of this cupcake lovers’ dream!

Now the prefect cupcake to make for this carrier? Well it would have to be a picnic cupcake (to be toted in my carrier to an idyllic under-tree setting) like a banana walnut cupcake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting! Yum!

  • 82. Adrasteia | June 16, 2008 at 8:59 am | #

The recipe comes from JenJen’s blog, Milk and Cookies and is really really good!

I made the cupcakes to go in it, but they all got eaten before I could take a photo! They were delicious dark chocolate and coconut mud cupcakes with raspberries mixed through, with a raspberry glace icing and a dark chocolate curl as a garnish….. sooooo yummy!

  • 84. choc lover | June 16, 2008 at 10:06 am | #

I LOVE chocolate and therefore a chocolate theme is a must.
White chocolate cupcakes, milk chocolate cupcakes and dark chocolate cupcakes each with their matching chocolate ganche and chocolate curls from the two other chocolates.

  • 85. elenia | June 16, 2008 at 2:48 pm | #

To begin I would have a pistachio and rosewater cupcake. Then I would want to place red velvet cupcakes. And lastly i would make simple vanilla cupcakes.

  • 86. elenia | June 16, 2008 at 2:49 pm | #

To begin I would have a pistachio and rosewater cupcake.Nice and subtle flavours

  • 87. Melissa Joy | June 16, 2008 at 5:23 pm | #

I’d have to go with three layers of pink! Vanilla/White choc cuppies, with various pink icings – see here for examples http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=954652&id=546520142

  • 88. melissah | June 16, 2008 at 7:44 pm | #

I love this competition – it has given me some great ideas of different cupcake flavours to make at a later date!

My entry today is Rocky Road Cupcakes! A chocolate flavoured cupcaked drizzled with a mix of milk chocolate, marshmallows, turkish delight and peanuts, sprinkled with coconut on top. Yum!

  • 89. Suze | June 16, 2008 at 8:09 pm | #

YUM! I would make s’more cupcakes with melted marshmallows, chocolate, peanut butter and biscuit crumbs on top

  • 90. PumpkinEater | June 16, 2008 at 9:46 pm | #

I liked Anita’s idea of one cupcake type for each layer. So I’ve chosen:
Layer 1: Orange and Poppy Seed Cupcakes, with orange icing
Layer 2: Carrot Cake Cupcakes, with a cream-cheese icing
Layer 3: Spiced Sweet Pumpkin Cupcakes with caramelised ginger icing

  • 91. Maria | June 17, 2008 at 12:05 am | #

    Yum!

  • 94. Adrasteia | June 17, 2008 at 4:40 pm | #

Today I want some gorgeous black-bottom cupcakes from SmittenKitchen blog.

  • 97. pea & pear | June 17, 2008 at 9:50 pm | #

I know this is terribly boring but what I really want to put in my cupcake courier is vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting. Oh the joy of childhood cupcakes before things got so complicated.
(Even though I was salivating over all of the above suggestions)
