Win 1 of 7 Lap Raps for your Computer!

Perhaps you recall my Lap Rap from a few months ago. I made one up based on some Kaleidoscope cupcakes I had made and I love it and everytime I take my laptop out people inevitably coo – even some passport control officials were recently intrigued by it. When the people at Lap Rap contacted me and asked me if my lovely NQN readers might want a Lap Rap too I said yes straight away. This the season to buy some great gifts for people and the more personalised and unusual the better. They make fantastic stocking fillers for Christmas or great Back to School gifts. Imagine your favourite girlfriend with a Twilight lap rap or your hubby with a sports image (or who knows, maybe he’s a Twilight fan too!) or imagine your proudest creation immortalised on your lap top! Or you can of course order an existing design of which there are many to choose from.

Our lucky winners are:

Emma R.

Fahey S-Y.

Cheryl Mc.

Audrey W.

Andrea L.

Penelope W.

Anna A-J.

Vicky W.

Anita L.

Marelle

Lilia

All you have to do is tell me what picture you’d put on your Lap Rap if you won one. The giveaway ends midnight December 14th AEST just in time for Christmas. Enter as a comment on this story and this giveaway is open to Australian residents only.

Lots of Love,

Lorraine

I love the idea of one of those! As a mad keen knitter, I’d obviously want some sort of design that included wool, knitting, needles – perhaps beautiful light airy stitches in macro, something like that!

Ooh these are awesome! I’d get one for my dad who is a barrister by day and a one man band, called ‘Self Tort’, by night. I think he’d get such a kick out of having his logo on a lap wrap!

I think I would use the photo of Nigella’s Budino di Cioccolato in the prettiest of my collection of bone china tea cups. http://www.10ft8music.com.au/blog/uploaded_images/IMG_8940-773416.jpg

What if I don’t own a laptop? Gasp! LOL.

If I were to have one I’d put a photo montage of my holiday snaps on there. That way, it’d make me work harder for that next holiday!

I’d use a picture of my favorite quilt – that’d look quite distinctive on a lap top. But as I don’t possess a lap top, should I win one I’d give it to my daughter, and I wouldn’t even like to guess what she would want!

I would use the family shot of everyone together on the beach from our wedding. When we move next month to cold grey London it will remind me of everyone who I love, and the beauty that is Australia.

I recently got a tattoo very tasteful, a largish S with “in” tucked into the bottom loop. I meant to do this when my first grandchild was born, long overdue as he is now sixteen. I know what does this have to do with it? That is what I would want on my Lap Rap! I am so pleased with it I would like to share…

  • 20. Cheryl Moulton | December 5, 2009 at 11:44 am | #

I would have a photo of my beautiful grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Sakura and when Sakuras’ baby brother or sister arrives I would add a photo of him/her as well.
I live in Adelaide and My children and grandchildren live in Cairns Qld and Melbourne Vic, and I miss seeing them so very much.

  • 21. Miki | December 5, 2009 at 12:19 pm | #

i thought maybe I’d put my wedding photo on the laptop, but it might be a bit too much… probably a field of delicate pink, white and apricot roses sith a smattering of chocolates!

  • 22. Liv | December 5, 2009 at 12:45 pm | #

Well, I don’t have a laptop, but I’d get a lap rap for my sister – one with zebra (or tiger) print and “bling” featured on it. :) My sister is obsessed with those prints, and always wears sparkly jewellery! :)

I would have a montage of my favourite things on my laptop. Every time I see it it will mke me smile. Picture of hubby and me on my wedding day, my 2 cats, Louboutin heels, Chanel handbag, Hello Kitty symbol and NYC city landscape. One of the best cities in the world.

  • 26. Chantelle | December 5, 2009 at 1:12 pm | #

My MacBook Pro would be the coolest kid in the playground covered in a Lap Rap featuring a birthday masterpiece I made for my little cousin!

With prettiness a priority, the ice cream cake was made of vanilla ice cream, grated Cherry Ripe, muddled raspberries and tinted gloriously pink. Mounted on top were lightly crumbled rose meringues, scattered raspberries with a dusting of white chocolate snow. For a little bit of fun (and vulgarity!) I lined the outside of the cake with a standing ovation of red frogs!

This cake reminds me of our fabulous family gatherings, and has my sweet tooth aching for more!

  • 27. Fiona | December 5, 2009 at 1:19 pm | #

Mine would have to be something anime, or purple. I’ve always admired the tokidoki skins, but they don’t come in my size!

  • 28. james | December 5, 2009 at 1:36 pm | #

awww cool! i was thinking a picture of some delicious bright food might be nice, but then i realised that i’d just see it and be hungry all of the time – not the best when using a laptop already usually involves a lot of sitting. so perhaps the cover of a classic book (my laptop is baby sized) so it looks as though i’m a trendy booklover…

  • 29. kathy s | December 5, 2009 at 1:50 pm | #

I would love a Lap Rap with a picture of a vase of flowers, an old lace hanky, a pair of glasses and a book on a old lace table clothed table top with a cup and saucer and plate of cream cakes (to make it look like the top of a table from my grandmothers house)

    Dear Lorraine

I’d be quite happy to have one just like yours, but that might make me hungry every time I have to do a spot of work. So, if I could choose, I’d put a photo of my family on it (hubby, two kids and me).

    Kind regards,
    Sarah

  • 37. Caroline Kelly | December 5, 2009 at 2:40 pm | #

  • 39. Natalie | December 5, 2009 at 3:22 pm | #

    Wow they look so cool.

I’d put a picture of a tropical island (I have beautiful picture from a trip to fiji) that way everytime I opened it to do work I could think of my holiday.

Or a pic of my niece and nephew cause I’d always be in a good mood seeing them.

  • 40. Sophie | December 5, 2009 at 3:36 pm | #

Id want a picture of kittens on a lap rap, which id give to my mum (as I think her laptop is rather unattractive, and a kitten lap rap would be awesomely cute) I also really love that cupcake one you have, makes me want to eat cupcakes!

Laprap.. I love the very idea of it!!!! That is fantastic, how have you been? I can’t wait to see what you are going to bake/cook for the holidays that are coming up soon.

  • 47. Christine Barter | December 5, 2009 at 7:48 pm | #

All my hints for birthdays, Christmas etc seem to fall on deaf ears as far as hubby is concerned, so…I would include my wishlist of all the things I have wished for over the years…then I would have them…theoretically anyway.

  • 48. Deb | December 5, 2009 at 8:18 pm | #

Hubby – he’s cute, even after all these years!

  • 54. Cherz | December 5, 2009 at 10:16 pm | #

Seasons Greetings Lorraine & fellow nqn’s. This lap rap would be for my son, so I would go for the band U2 or Bono. Kind Regards.

  • 55. penny aka jeroxie | December 5, 2009 at 10:59 pm | #

Ok. This may sound cheesy butI will like to have Mister and our doggie on it. They are my only family away from home and have always been very supportive. I know it is cheese but that is how I like it. Will I regret? Hell NO! :)

  • 56. MissMorgs | December 5, 2009 at 11:22 pm | #

I’d put a picture of a gorgeous Darwin sunset from the beach because I’m leaving in 6 weeks (after 24 years here) and that’s what I’ll miss the most!

  • 57. Midge | December 5, 2009 at 11:55 pm | #

  • 58. SoRMuiJAi | December 6, 2009 at 1:20 am | #

I want a innards shot of a burger with the works. And I mean bacon, melty cheese and must have a gooey runny egg yolk!

  • 59. Michael | December 6, 2009 at 3:53 pm | #

I’m typing this for my boyfriend and he says he’d put a photo of alan didak on it (his favourite collingwood player, could my eyes roll any further back in my head??), a picture of an open briefcase with $100 bills spilling out (dream on sweetie!) or a photo of some olives and marinated artichokes. Ummm… He really likes antipasto?
His individuality is a big part of why I love him though :D

  • 60. nellbe | December 6, 2009 at 4:51 pm | #

Since hubby and I share a laptop I would pick a gorgeous picture of our two beautiful boys.

  • 61. Gillian | December 6, 2009 at 5:04 pm | #

I think i would have to get an ultra cool retro pin up girl, that would be an eye catcher!

  • 62. Lilia | December 6, 2009 at 7:02 pm | #

I’d probably put a picture of my family in a kitchen mayhem theme. I’ll do the make-up with whipped cream plus some sauces here and there and told my family to put a funny face or guilty faces. It will surely make people laugh and asking what’s up with the picture :p

  • 63. Cathy | December 6, 2009 at 7:29 pm | #

My wish would be to have a lap rap with the photo I took of my dessert whilst dining at the Guggenhiem, Bilbao, earlier this year. The pic reminds me of a wonderful trip and a very special dining experience, alone in the Guggenheim.

  • 64. Book Chook | December 6, 2009 at 7:34 pm | #

I’d choose a photo my husband took in Queen Charlotte Sound. It’s a moored boat, with a crystal clear reflection, set against a forest backdrop. It somehow captures serenity, yet lifts my spirits – just the frame of mind I need when I use my laptop.

  • 65. Kym | December 6, 2009 at 8:11 pm | #

I would put a photo of my daughter with food all over her face (she loves her food) and get it for her Daddy so he can see her all the time and it would bring a smile to his face! He travels to a very dangerous part of the world and what could be better then a little something to make him have a giggle.

  • 66. Alex | December 6, 2009 at 8:12 pm | #

Hopefully this answer isn’t too boring, but I would actually go with one of the designs they have on the website, Bedroom in Arles by Van Gogh. I love Van Gogh, this is one of my favourite paintings of his, and seeing it at the Musee D’Orsay a few years ago was so incredible because as cheesy as it is, reading about Van Gogh and looking at his beautiful creations helped me through some difficult times in my life and having that on my computer would remind me of all this :)

  • 67. Anna | December 6, 2009 at 9:37 pm | #

I would go with cartoon jungle animals on a lap rap.

  • 68. maria andallo | December 7, 2009 at 1:04 am | #

I would have a food pic on it definitely! Probably my recent strawberries and cream, with white chocolate sponge dessert.

  • 72. Petra | December 7, 2009 at 8:35 am | #

I would put one of the photos I took on my recent trip to Bali to remember the most amazing time I with my 8 friends.

  • 73. Cakelaw | December 7, 2009 at 8:37 am | #

I have nevre heard of a Lap Rap before, but it certainly is attention grabbing. I’d put one of my baked creations on it too – I find them beautiful (well, some of them ;) ).

  • 74. Cheryl Moulton | December 7, 2009 at 8:43 am | #

Last night I was included in the confidential circle of my son and DILs pregnancy to discover that they seem to be expecting a beautiful baby boy, this will be little Sakuras’ baby brother, and so for my lap rap I would have photos of all my grandchildren including this new little peanut

  • 77. Einna | December 7, 2009 at 11:41 am | #

This is a tough one. But if I had to pick a lap rap. I’d have to have one of my two favorite dogs who have since passed away. Jerry and Honey. The most loyal and lovely dogs any owner could dream of.

They are still sorely missed :(

  • 78. Angela | December 7, 2009 at 11:59 am | #

I would put a picture of our lovely Labrador, Snowy.

  • 81. B. Krystyna Michnows | December 7, 2009 at 4:25 pm | #

This is easy for me to answer. I have 2 very beautiful black toy poodles, Tiffany & Lucy. Whenever I go to the Junction it normally takes me 7 minutes But when I take the girls for a walk, it takes a minimun of 35 minutes because they have such beautifulpersonalities besides being pretty,we are stopped by nearly everyone who sees them, Yet I don’t see it happening with other doggies so it would have be a beaut pic of my 2 poodle girls

  • 82. Kelly | December 7, 2009 at 9:36 pm | #

I would get a picture of Valentino Rossi on his Yamaha M1 winning his 9th world title…

  • 83. Jenny | December 8, 2009 at 10:55 am | #

I would love to give one to my husband, as he uses his laptop all the time for work, I would put his 2 loves on it our Jack Russell – Jessie and his motorcycle.

  • 84. Karen | December 8, 2009 at 1:57 pm | #

Love the idea! It would certainly jazz up my boring black sleeve! For me and my love of food…my picture would be this one here on this link. I love this photo food series, it’s so clever…never fails to put a smile on my face whenever i look at it! http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/le7t5edKcHkUA9sLMTYqUA?feat=directlink

Also, Lorraine, check these out: http://www.fabrixcases.com/v2/ – very stylish indeed!

  • 85. sandie | December 8, 2009 at 3:55 pm | #

I would put a photo of my 2 cats, one passed away this year and he is very much missed, our cats were the best of friends and the little one is struggling now.. there is a photo of them i have always wanted to put on something so that I can see the love between the two of them that they had.

  • 86. Hailey | December 8, 2009 at 8:39 pm | #

I’d get a photo of my little son put on the lap rap and send it to my uncle overseas. He’s never seen my son and it would be a GREAT Christmas gift!

  • 87. Carmen | December 9, 2009 at 12:14 pm | #

It would be a picture of my family to remind me of how fortunate I am to have them in my life. Living away from them for the past 8 years has been challenging and I hope one day we will be reunited again.

  • 88. Sonia Simran | December 10, 2009 at 3:11 am | #

I’d put either a fractal design or a picture of a nebula on there, probably the Rosette Nebula or the Horsehead Nebula, mostly for the aesthetic qualities, but also because astronomy’s been an interest of mine for a long time and because the development of new stars kind of symbolises where I am in life at the moment – changing and awakening.

  • 101. Stacey | December 13, 2009 at 11:08 am | #
