If you’re into cakes as much as I am (and I do think that they belong in a gallery), you’ll know Faye Cahill. Formerly of Sweet Art and co-founder of Planet Cake she has been decorating cakes for 18 years. I got to know her designs a few years ago when someone on a forum posted her wedding cakes. I swooned over her “Love Birds” and “Marie Antoinette” cakes. Alas I was already married and couldn’t order one and then I saw her “Circus Tent” cake and thought that it was the cutest kid’s cake ever. Until I saw her baby elephant cake.

So when Faye sent me a lovely email offering me a place at one of her classes I was very excited. The class I am attending isn’t for a while as it is in August (and I’m making the 3D Humpty Dumpty cake below, how cute is that?) but she did offer to give one of my Dear Readers a place in her Pretty Pastel Cupcakes class on Sunday the 18th of April worth $200! Her workshop is in Dulwich Hill so you’ll need to make your own way there (sadly my limo is in the shop
) and it goes from 11am-5pm.

What I am HOPING to make
You will learn the basics of cupcake preparation for smooth fondant icing and develop design, colouring and modelling skills. You will be working with both sugarpaste and flower paste and practicing simple piping with royal icing. After all of that fun, you will take home 12 decorated cupcakes in a stable travel box!

All you need to do is tell me which of Faye’s cake designs on her website is your favourite! Simply add your answer as a comment to the story. The competition ends at Midnight AEST 14th April, 2010. That’s right, this competition will only go for a few days but I know there are lots of you cupcake lovers out there! You can enter this once daily. This competition is open to Australian residents only.
The lucky winner is: Trisha of Metford, NSW!
Congratulations! ![]()
Best of luck!
Love,
Lorraine

Oh wow, what an amazing opportunity! I love Faye’s work and spent hours poring over her website when I was thinking about wedding cakes. But now that wedding time is over my favourite is definitely the vintage paper wrapped cupcakes. I had no idea that Faye used to be at Sweet Art and Planet Cake, she seems to have developed a new Faye Cahill look of her own on top of all the basics.
I’ve been a fan of Faye’s for quite some time. It’s so difficult to choose just one favourite. The circus tent cake is spectacular. The red and white stripes and the little animals peaking out is absolutely lovely. It really makes you feel young again. I’d love the opportunity to learn to make cupcakes from someone I consider to be a true master
I love the one titled Vesna’s wedding cake.
My sister is getting her cake made by Faye for her wedding in November- can’t wait!!! It was so hard choosing flavours as they all taste great!!!
The Elephant is certainly fabulous but the Fairy Princess brings back a lot of memories as my mum used to make a “Dolly Varden” (called that in our day) for so many of our birthdays. What a class to step into the world of 3D cake making!!
This is a tough one, they all look so amazing! But hey girl’s love gotta be the ‘Oh la la”, ie the Chanel bag and the shoe! Thank you for sharing this!
My favourite is the Buzz Lightyear cake. My 2 boys are big fans of Toy Story.
I use to walk past Sweet Art in Paddington years ago when I worked there, and admire the cakes.
Faye’s cakes are gorgeous and I wish I was as talented as she is! Winning the cupcakes lesson would be a great start! Having browsed her galleries, I would say I loved the Designer Kitchen Tea Party. Tiffany’s and kitchen utensils? What more would a lady want?
I first came across Faye’s cakes while perusing bridal magazines a couple of years ago. Her artistry and workmanship with cakes is simply amazing. The cakes featured on her website are works of art. It is difficult for me to pick a favourite, but I will go with the elephant cake as my choice
They are all so beautiful! So it was very hard to choose a favourite…but, because I also want cupcakes for my wedding cake, I would have to go with the vintage paper-wrapped cupcakes…they were so so beautiful
Faye is so talented. Her cakes are gorgeous. I love the Tiffany box with the kitchen utensils jump out from the top like a fountain of culinary potential.
HUMPTY!!!! It was my little boy’s first birthday yesterday and I tried to make him a HUMPTY DUMPTY cake but I think it scared him- looked more like Hermon Munster!!!!! : )
I have loved the black and white cupcakes since I cut the photo from a magazine a long time ago.
I hoped that one day my work would be of that standard. It’s still not, but I can always dream!
Wow she is talented! My favourite woud have to be the tickling elephant – so adorable
OMG!!! Her cakes are all so gorgeous it’s so hard to choose one but I absolutely loved the Chinese Lucky couple figurines, way too cute. Thanks for sharing the beautiful work of Faye Cahill with us and hope to be at the workshop.
the remote control is out of this world, it looks so real! Imagine vegging out in front of the TV and nibbling on that remote control !! haha
such a very cool cake!
The work of Faye Cahill is very distinctive and easy to spot. Her passion for cake making is something that I admire and would love the opportunity to see that passion coming to life in person.
With so many exquisite and unique cakes to choose from, it has been hard to narrow it down to just one cake. However, I would have to say that the Marie Antoinette cake from the Weddings section really stands out. It is a beautifully elegant cake that has a high level of intricate detail and a lovely colour palette.
Living in Adelaide I have never heard of Faye before, I have just been transfixed by her gallery! My favourite design is the Designer kitchen tea party cake with the Tiffany bag, not just because I love those bags but it’s just an amazing creation, I bet those utensils are all edible!
oh my gosh, they are all spectacular, but i love the japanese fans they are amazing and beautiful
She is so talented! The Indian Godess is amazing!
I really like the “Elegant black and white cupcake stand”. It is stunning. So beautiful.
The cake with Marie from Aristocats is fantastic! so cute
wow, Faye’s work is truly amazing!
There are so many stunning cakes to choose from but the one that really caught my attention was the Limoges kitchen teapot! I love the brightness of it and am fascinated by the shape of the cake, especially around the top edge of the teapot.
I am an avid cupcake maker and feel I would learn some valuable decorating tips from attending a course with such a passionate cake artist as Faye.
I think I like the happy Elephant one best. Not only is it an amazing piece of artwork it seems apt after the birth of the ‘miracle’ baby at the Zoo.
I have always admired the incredible amount of work and level of detail that goes into these cakes. The cupcake class would be an amazing opportunity to get an insight into this intricate art.
Whilst simple, I love the idea of having your name in a glittery cake. A chance to be a star for a day!
Aaaaagh!!! I wish I was free on that day, otherwise I would definitely be entering!!! Oh well… to whoever is fortunate enough to win, I hope you have a fantastic time!!
Wow I can’t choose I have to say all of them, they are so elegant and different. I’ll be too scared to eat them!.
I think all her cakes are amazing- I am not entering the comp because I can’t make the dates required but I love all her cakes especially the tickled elephant- goodluck with your class and to those that win.
The designs are not only perfectly executed, but so creative in construction.
My favourite are the ones that take the perspective of looking down on a scene. Cars, Fly Luke Art, and Circus Balloon are great examples. The creme de la creme for me is the Pirate Ship.
I would love love to be able to learn how to create these works of art.
I just love the Tickle me Elephant so gorgeous. Faye’s work is just amazing!
I like the ‘Love Birds’ design. So elegant yet unique at the same time. Please pick me! It’s my birthday today and this will be the perfect present!
The big top with the circus animals poking out is just adorable! But since that has already been picked as a favourite I’m going to say the boxing gloves, they are so spectacular are are shiny just like the real thing! To be able to make cakes as realistic as that is such an incredible talent.
Oh my goodness, the cakes truly are works of art. Such an amazing talent, she seems to be able to recreate anything in icing and cake! My favourites were the enchanted forest wedding cake, the flowers are so beautiful. Also, the designer kitchen tea party cake was so imaginative and realistic! It must be hard for people to bring themselves to cut into these cakes.
I can’t decide between the special occasion teapot, or the birthday alien…. too many choices. I have no problems driving from Canberra for such an amazing class!
OMG….I would absolutely love to win this competition for my mum. She loves to bake and cupcakes are her favourite. So, keeping this in mind, I think her favourite cake would have to be the Vintage Paper-Wrapped cupcakes as this would be something she would be able to create if shown how. She is such a generous person that she would probably try to create this for all her family and friends. Denise
Oh, my, goodness! I think i have died and gone to heaven. I LOVE Faye!
I am a sucker for all things wedding and i have to say that Vesna’s wedding cake (2nd photo) is absolutely stunning. I love the lace piping design and the colours, it’s just so beautiful, timeless and elegant.
Aww..this is awesome …a cupcake class to herald spring n blossoming trees…….not an aussie babes

have a super sparkly day sweety…
Bdw i love the M princess ,Petal baby n d cake for Tea’s christening at FAYE’s gallery
What a wonderful opportunity Lorraine. So many visually appealing cakes to choose from but I have to say my favourite is the “Desiger Kitchen Tea Party: A Tiffany bag with everything but the kitchen sink”. The originality of it’s design struck a chord with me along with mixing a designer label with baking – two of my favourite things. Utensils are an essential in any kitchen and the ones on this cake are so realistic. I feel like I have just left the set of ‘Masterchef’ with a designer goodie bag. I would be honoured to attend one of the classes with Faye.
Linda
I adore the leopard print cake with the big pink bow! So gorgeous and very girly glam! Reminds me of a gorgeous pair of heels I used to have, hot pink on the outside with leopard print on the soles! (Very hot)
Anyway, if it gets me any brownie points (no pun intended) it’s my Birthday on the 18th of April and I’ve got no ‘just for me plans’!
Please pretty please
I love faye’s beautiful cakes and magical designs i love the Kitchen tea pot it makes me feel wonderful thinking of a magic garden tea party! I think great imagination and cooking is the best talent anyone could ever have. thank you:))
Omg. So pretty. So gorgeous. STUNNING!
I adored the Humpty Dumpty cake…how on earth does one get SO talented?!
I think Faye’s Japanese Fans cake (under birthdays) is absolutely stunning. It is definitely my favourite – she is so talented! If only my own creativity extended beyond finger painting.
Faye Cahill is an absolute genius – every one of her cakes is a masterpiece and I had such a hard time choosing my favourite – from the two tiered leopard print to the tiffany box to the Japanese bunnies to the tickle me elephant… But I think my favourite of all has to be the Limoges teapot. Fitting as I collect Limoges!
Incredibly difficult to choose just one, but even though I’m not a real “girly” girl, I think the pink chocolate butterfly is classically beautiful.
i like the children’s cake tickle me elephant and the wedding’s black and white cupcakes… not only do they look exactly what they look like, they also look yummy…^^
i love all her cakes!! hehe.. ye Humpty dumpty look sooo cutee!! hehe and soo are the cup cakes!!!
I love the pink chocolate butterfly cake – elegant and simple!
All of her cakes are amazing!! Some of them make you doubt whether they can be real!!! WOW I love the Ada’s Teapot but the Designer Kitchen Tea has to be the most detailed and most amazing!Oh how I would love to have a lesson from her!
My favourite is the Kewpie Doll – it’s so kitsch and reminds me of the ones’ you can buy on a stick. Would make a lovely birthday cake for any ‘girl’! Including myself
Mmm… I love the “Soft duck egg blue icing with latte roses and gold detailing” wedding cake.
I’d love to be able to make my own wedding cake as beautiful as that.
I LOVE the wedding cake based on wedding stationary.. The circus tent would be a delight for my kids’ birthdays.. The Ooo La La is divine.. but the Kewpie Doll freaked me out slightly! What GORGEOUS cakes. Would love love LOVE this prize!!!
Beautifully decorated they promise to thrill my senses with their playful embellishments and elegant colors, they hold the promise of mouthwatering delight and represent the perfect ending to a springtime meal, afternoon tea or my best friends birthday.
britney! i love this idea because its unique, cute, girly and represents something the birthday girl obviously loves. Really i love all of them and would be thrilled to attending fayes class.
I LOVE all of Faye’s cakes, but I think my fave is the Circus Balloon – just LOVE it!
“Marie Antoniette” such stylish and elegant cakes. Faye Cahill is definitely an inspiration.
Oh I’d love it win. I’m really loving “Making a Splash”, the paddlepool is adorable.
Oh wow, the Faye’s wedding cakes are so special, especially the ones with the hand-painting. You’ll have a fabulous time with Humpty Dumpty for sure!
Personally, I adore the birthday cake with the Aristocats’ Marie – she’s been my favourite for ever
Faye’s cakes are amazing but I would have to say the Baby Block is my favourite at this moment. I’m about to become a mum so it’s very appropriate. I would love to be be able to learn how to do these cakes for upcoming future kids birthdays.
i love the pirate ship cake! it reminds me so terribly of my brother back at home and his huge pirate ship): even the pirate figurine looks identical! he LOVES cupcakes. if i won this i’d make them every day for him when i go home.
wooo, if there was a cake made by faye I would probably encase it with with lacquer and put it in my living room!!! I love the magic bunny, I think it’s because my neighbour recently lost her bunny on Good Friday!!
I’ll pass on this one as I’m based in Victoria and I don’t think my hubby would be too keen on me flying to Sydney to attend a cake design course.
Faye Cahill’s eye for detail in her cake designs is really impressive. They are like little pieces of edible art. The Circus Balloon is definitely my favourite. If only I could fly on that colourful balloon to Sydney, away from my life as a suburban housewife…
Congratulations Lorraine on a fabulous website. I can’t imagine my life without NQN to be quite honest as that’s the first thing I read every morning.
I love the Pasta Bowl – dessert & main all in one!
all I can say is WOW!…wish I can join in the fun on the competition but sadly I’m in Brisvegas=( Love those cupcakes…
It would have to be Death by Chocolate! I like macabre look of it and the name reminds me of Serendipity’s ice cream =)
I’d love to win this Lorraine for my ‘cupcake queen’ daughter Gabriella. She would get a real buzz out of the Faye Cahill class and it would improve her cake decorating skills further. I pick the ‘Ooh La La’, as it suits her to a T.
Will your Humpty Dumpty cake be for your Godchild?
I love the alien on the ufo cake. I’m a believer that uglier is better.
Shucks.. too bad I’m in Japan!
The Aristocat’s Birthday cake. It’s just adorable and so weel done.
Ha! I love the cake with all the silverware coming out of it! What a clever and easy way to add something fun to an ordinary cake.
The cakes on Faye’s website are double gorgeous!
And so are those sweet cupcakes! I wish I knew how to work with fondant!
Aren’t you lucky to be taking her class? And I may live in the U.S., but I hope you’re going to tell us all about it!
Oh how exciting for you to be attending a class! Shame it’s still such a long way away.
My fave at for this minute would be death by chocolate! So funky and out there. I will have to browse through all her wedding designs for some ideas!
Those are really beautiful cakes..I’m into cakes and cake decorating but I’m embarrased that I haven’t heard of Faye Cahill.. but seeing some of her works here, I am now a fan
I LOVE all of Faye’s cakes, but I think my fave is the Circus Balloon – just LOVE it!
OMG what a oportunity!!! How can you choose just one? They are all masterpieces, the attention to detail is impecable.
Having said that (& going back for another look through lol) Istill can’t pick just one, so here are my top 3.
1. Ally’s Birthday…I can’t resist purple.
2. Japanese Fans….Gorgeous
3. Easy as ABC… Simple elegance.
K…Kewpie
A…Amazing
Y…Yummy
E…Exciting
Yes, I LOVE the Kewpie Doll. It brings back memories of kewpie dolls on sticks that you would bring home from the Royal Easter Show when I was young and treasured for many years after. I REALLY want to learn this skill xxxx
There are so many gorgeous cakes on Faye’s website. After catering a recent baby shower and attempting to decorate 50 cupcakes I can definitely appreciate how much work and skill is in these! I think my favorite cake was the Love Birds wedding cake, it is just so beautiful. All of the childrens cakes were fabulous too!
The teapot! I collect teapots, so this cake is perfect! and it looks so joyful and bright
They are all so beautiful! Today I pick the Bakelite Radio as my favourite because it fits in so well with my Mad Men obsession.
I adore the monkey cake in the birthday sections. The idea is so cute “from nanna’s little monkeys” and that grin on the monkey is hillarious.
I love Tickle me elephant- so cute!
I love the cupcakes used as a wedding cake, I’ve been thinking of having cupcake as my wedding cake next year, and would love to make them with my Mum, it would be am,azing to be able to learn to decorate them so beautifully!
I’m going for the alien on the ufo cake again because I love the strange and peculiar.
I love the vintage paper wrapped cupcakes it really highlights how small cakes can still be a stunner compared to other cakes.
I would love this opportunity to learn how to decorate cakes, after all eating cake is my passion . Oh and this was post was posted on my 21st haha…
Btw, i love reading your blogs, you do an awesome job. keep it up! It has aspired me to start my own.. but due to commitments i havent updated ><
With 2 daughters nicknamed princess turtle and princess bullfrog i could go past the “make a splash” cake featuring a turtle and bullfrog, it would be and amazing opportunity to attend one of Faye’s classes, I hope the lucky winner send their photos to you for sharing so nobody misses out. cant wait to hear about your wonderful class and see your Humpty in all his glory Enjoy!!! we will all be jealously druelling
The Marie Antoinette cake is gorgeous. Although I also love the vintage paper-wrapped cupcakes. Oh – maybe the Shabby Chic one… Maybe I could have an anniversary cake
hehe. I can’t choose sorry Lorraine – although would still love to attend the class.

Reni.
I a pre-school teacher so am naturally drawn to the Humpty Dumpty cake. How sweet this would be for a pre-schoolers birthday. It would be something sepcial that they would always remember.
The pasta bowl. It made me laugh!
The Vintage Paper Wrapped cupcakes are mindblowing!! They remind me of some porcelain ornaments that my grandmother has that I have always loved.
Oh so cute! Faye’s cakes are amazing…I especially liked the circus tent and also “making a splash”. Gorgeous!
Awesome cakes~~
i particularly like the one under the title “Ooh la la”. Loved that Channel bag and the stilettos!! definately something i want for my b’day!!!
pink chocolate butterfly… i don’t think i need to be a child to have that as my birthday cake!
Hmmm, all cakes lookes amazing! I love all of them, but I think Marie Antoinette was soooo beautiful!
Too hard! I admired the muted pastel elegance of the first few wedding cakes, but I think my favourite cake overall was the pasta bowl – I loved the idea of turning a classic savoury meal into a gleaming sugary treat.
I love the circus tent with the peeping animals. I’m dreaming about organising a circus and animal themed party based just around this cake!
“Happy 30th Richard” the chair cake, hilarious. This is a very Easter Show cake decorating inspired competition, I love it!!
I love the elephant one it looks so real, couldn’t even begin to imagine how you would make that one!I love the challenge at the kids birthdays of letting them choose which cakes they would like (steering them to something slightly easier at times). The cupcakes look very cute especially the butterfly one, my daughter would love that one at an afternoon birthday tea party!
The Tailored stripes in Tiffany blue and latte! So pricise, yet so elegant.
wow what amazing cakes – I don’t have kids nor plan to get married anytime soon (!) so am drawn to the leopard print 21st cake – how cool would that have been! Also the detail on the remote control – very impressive. Love getting these emails every morning – thanks NQN
WOW – all the designs are absolutely divine! Such intricate details…but also simple and elegant at the same time. My favourite is definitely the Japanese fans…for the hot pink and gold icing combo…and the beautifully decorated Japanese fans and flower..Simply breath taking!
Being a tea snob, I love the red and white polka dot teapot!
oh wow. how lovely and what a talent. since im obbsessed with cute little teapots i just adore Fayes Ada’s Limoges kitchen teapot. too cute to eat
Wow! I love Faye Cahill’s designs – what an awesome prize!
My favourite is the hand painted botanic design.
This is hard because I think all her cakes are a work of art! I have actually tasted her cakes too and they are Delicious! I do love her wedding cakes the most and I have to say my fave is the Shabby Chic.
Such divine cakes – Marie Antoinette is stunning but I think my favourite has to be ‘Vintage paper-wrapped cupcakes’, it is just superb.
Ohh I loove the Tickle Me Elephant.. amazing!
I am planning to make a surprise Yellow Submarine cake for my Beatles mad partner whom is turning 30 in November. I’ve enrolled in the local community college cake decorating course, obviously not comparable to Faye, but it’s a start!
All of Faye’s cake creations are unique and flawless. Her display of elegant and aesthetic cakes is inspiring. My favourites are the novel cakes with handiwork that bring joy and laughter. In particular “Take me to your leader” because it is personalised and features Faye’s creativity and ability to craft charming details.
Faye’s designs are jawdropping. I became an instant fan when a girl from work came in with her creations from one of Faye’s classes. Like others, I admire all of Faye’s creations, but “Autumn madhatter” really strikes me as a artwork that is so well crafted in its choice of colours, angles, and style, it could be mistaken for an autumn carnival races headpiece. Just stunning!
I HAVE to choose ONE design ???
That is impossible…. even narrowing it down to three was painful, but here goes,,, the Tickle me Elephant,
Truffle Rose and
the absolutely fabulous Ada’s Limoges Kitchen Teapot.
IS there an the equivalent of the Archibald Prize for Cake Decorating?
Faye’s cakes are just exquisite. I think the hand painted botanic wins for its pure elegance.
Urgghhh! Too hard to choose one!
I love Faye her designs are amazing. I really love Ada Limonges Teapot, however I’m torn between this and the wedding cupcakes, stunning!
It’s so hard to choose one design. I like most of the cakes from wedding and Children’s categories. The cakes are fabulous and the work is so perfect. My 7 yrs old son loved the “Circus ballon” cake and “Take me to your leader” cake. My favourites are Marie Antoinette, black and white cupcakes and purple/green cupcakes.
Cake decorating combines food and art… my favourites. Good luck with your humpty cake – getting curved cakes to sit up like that looks tricky. Would love to win a cupcake course, then I can have my own high tea with pretty cakes to match my teapot!
I LOVE all of Faye’s cakes – they are all brilliant. But I think my fave is the Circus Balloon – just LOVE it!
What a fantastic prize for all us cake lovers. I love “Tickle Me Elephant” until I saw the Foxtel remote control!
Enuff said!!
I have to mention the runners up too:
1. Shabby Chic – gorgeous, I love the variations of white to keep it uber elegant.
2. Gone Fishing- I’ve made up a story, the grandma’s late partner loved fishing and being stunned with the cake and his smiling face looking back at her, would of been lovely for her.
3. Saxaphone, awesome design! Well executed.
4. Stripey chocolate – i just wanted to jump through the screen and nom nom on it til i felt ill.
Wow.. what a great give away. I looked through Faye’s website and it’s so hard to chose which cake design I like the best. They are all so creative and impressive. I think for me with my current cupcake obsession I really like the “Elegant black and white cupcake stand”
An obvious choice but I just can’t go past the love birds – the handpainting and the gold leaf are so beautifully done – how hard would it be to cut into this if it were your cake?
Oh my goodness, Faye’s cakes are so amazing! There are so many gorgeous cakes it is hard to pick a favourite. I think I’ve gotta go with the designer kitchen tea party: a Tiffany bag with everything but the kitchen sink! The utensils look so amazing I would be tempted to try and cook with them. I would so love to take one of Faye’s classes.
I’d love to know how to make that elmo cup cake! It would have to be my favourite.
It looks like something I could handle making as well
I love the tickle me elephant as my favourite. I can imagine that as such a cute christening cake.
Dymphna
I LOVE the Circus Balloon, the colors and execution are just perfect, so whimsical. All Faye’s cakes are just so impressive, I am envious of her talent!
The Indian Goddess Cake is unbelievable! The attention to detail and vibrant colours are just amazing!
If only I could learn just of fraction of what this talented lady can do – what a dream!
I have to give a shout out to the Tickle Me Elephant today..so damn cute!!
I have been eying Faye’s beautiful cakes for my upcoming wedding but I have to say that my favourite from her site is Richard’s 30th birthday cake – the one with the Eames chair. It is so amazing – so detailed – and I have such a chair fetish!
All of it is excellent work – a feast for the eyes as well as the palate
Wow – amazing cakes! All fantastic but I just love the black and white wedding cupcakes – so simple but effective. Would love to go on the class, its my daughter’s 2nd birthday on the 20th and she’s a big cupcake fan too so the timing is perfect…
The CIRCUS hot air balloon! The giraffe reminds me of Healthy Harold, a friendly figure in my childhood.
Learning from the cake-master … What an opportunity!! I love Faye’s ‘Death by Chocolate’ cake. Very creative and perfect visual execution … and choooocolate. What more can you ask for??
I love the cakes that have been designed for men, such as the electric guitar. There are lots of girly designs around, but these set a new standard for making a guys celebration event really special.
im so grateful that she has a beautiful website for those of us less skilled to druell over it isnt fair that one person should have all that skill but since she does share it by way of her class we do have to make an exception
I love the jeep wrangler, the proportions are admirable, and it wont be a job i could tackle even after alot of her classes i just do my little bit and am happy to go from there
The ruffled flowers cupcake stand is too devine … love the colours too …. but all her cakes are gorgeous how talented.
Really hard to choose one design, they are all beautifully decorated with perfection. Children’s cakes and wedding cakes are my favourites, I can’t stop watching the cakes.
Faye’s cakes are amazing, she is so talented and obviously passionate about her work with such effort and intricate detail put into every cake. My favourite cake was the Aristocats’ Marie birthday cake, I used to watch that movie all the time as a kid. The cake was so cute and pink. Marie looked perfect, I’ve no idea how you would achieve that with icing, wow!
If only I lived in Sydney!
What an awesome prize.
Her cakes are fantastic, can’t wait to hear about your Humpty class!
With an upcoming wedding on my mind I went straight for the wedding cake gallery. I fell in love straigh away with Vesna’s wedding cake (QBV Tea rooms). It was so beautiful if it wasn’t cake….. I would keep it forever I’m a little bit obesessed with cake lol. I also loved the Marie Antoinette one stunning, it was like a piece of art work BEAUTIFUL!
Loved Shabby Chic – so romantic !
Faye’s cakes are fabulous. Many good ones, but my personal fav at the moment is the ‘Good Fortune Figurines’ wedding cake. Would love to have that at my wedding x
I LOVE all of Faye’s cakes – they are all brilliant. But I think my fave is the Circus Balloon – just LOVE it!
I absolutely love the adorable tickle me elephant. Almost too cute to eat!
Faye made our wedding cake a couple years ago and it was based on the ‘Love Birds’ design, we had birds on our invite so she copied them to a tea and even made a lace pattern across one of the tiers that exactly matched our invites. The woman is a genius! So my answer of course is ‘Love birds’!
Oh to learn from the master, the Yoda of wedding cakes!
The baby elephant cake is pretty cute too! especially after i almost cried last night watching ‘Mr Shuffles’ being born on the zoo program. oh so adorable!
Wow, these cakes are fantastic.
I love Fayes work.
When I got married 16 years ago I ordered my cake from Sweet Art, & it was beautiful.
I love all the cakes hard to pick just one.
I love the Marie Antoinette cake, such elegance & beauty.
Enchanted forest is also very beautiful.
Oh Lorraine, such a hard choice!! I love Faye Cahill’s cakes – she’s amazing. I only live down the road from her shop
and I gaze in every now and again to see what they’re working on.
So many gorgeous cakes to choose from, I loved Vesna’s wedding cake; the pastel pink with coral motif, the guitar, the 2 Japanese inspired rabbits, but my favourite cake of all would be the “E Baby block” such a simple looking cake, but the lines are so clean and crisp.
It’s such a hard choice- all the cakes look absolutely amazing! My pick is the Tickle me Elephant, sooo cute!
too many to choose from… my favourite is the circus tent!
I LOVE all of Faye’s cakes – they are all so brilliant. But I think my fave is the Circus Balloon – just LOVE it!
Hi NQN! I adore the wedding cupcakes, they’re just what I wanted to make (myself – a little ambitious, yes…) for my wedding. It was indeed too ambitious and I had to pay someone to do it but these are just what I would have done if I could
The Pink Chocolate Butterfly is just beautiful, just perfect for a new baby girl.
Oh the Indian Goddess! I *think*… Its pretty hard to choose just one! Y cupcake decorating is something I’ve really been wanting to improve!
Faye’s cakes are just amazing!! To be able to have lessons from a true master would be a fantastic opportunity! Having young kids my favourite is the circus tent – the anmials poking their heads out is just too cute to resist!! All her cakes a a work of art.
*wow* tickle me elephant ….
Everytime you read someone elses comment i think i dont remember that one so I go back and have another look this look my favourite is the treasure island mermaid ….how i would love to escape and enjoy a litle piece of treasure island seclusionwhat a wonderful collection of dedication
i love a designer kitchen tea party..a tiffany bag with everything but kitchen sink!!! OMG its a good combination!!!.
I just love “Tickle Me Elephant”. Possibly the cutest cake I’ve ever seen!
My favourite is Tickle me Elephant….I am in such awe of anyone who can model paste with such talent.I can do it but Faye just takes it to the next level and I would love to learn from her expertise! I love the eyes on the elephant too, so michevious!!!
I conveniently have an assignment due at midnight tonight – being the 14th of April…and this is now less than two hours away, so obviously it was a great idea for me to come here and start clicking through faye’s site
uhoh…well my fave is far and away the soft sugar peonies – they are ridiculously realistic, I would be worried that they would outshine the bouquet!
Oh, these cakes are phenomenal! How I wish I could decorate like this!
I LOVE all of Faye’s cakes – they are all so brilliant. But I think my fave is the Circus Balloon – really LOVE it!

I really LOVE all of Faye’s cakes, but I think my fave would have to be the Circus Balloon – just LOVE it!
Dear Lorranie
i cannot thank you enough the class was amazing i would totally recommend it to anyone. Faye was brilliant she explained everything and the ambience was so welcoming that you felt comfortable asking any questions and she and Dean were so keen to answer them. My cakes turnt out so nice but still made the 3 hour journey back home without being eaten in fact the look so nice I am having a hard time letting them be eaten at all lol
Thank you again, I will definately be attending another class, cant wait to read about your Humpty class

Wow. I love Faye Cahill Designs and I love the Baby Gingham Mini Cakes both the one with the Blue Teddy and the Pink Bunny. I have made those mini cakes and they where so hard! Hoping to do Faye’s course in September so I can learn all the tricks
