Halloween Freddy Krueger Strawberries Recipe

Halloween Party Food

For something sweet and fruity this Halloween I made Freddy Krueger strawberries with little "striped jumpers" and tiny hats. I absolutely loved the idea - even if my effort fell a little short of the mark - but they're still delicious and great fun to make. If you're making them for kids and want to avoid mini peanut butter cups, Rolos work perfectly for the hats.

An Original Recipe by Lorraine Elliott

Preparation time: 25 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Makes 12 chocolate covered strawberries

  • 12 large strawberries
  • 100g/3.5ozs green chocolate melts
  • 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 12 mini peanut butter cups, unwrapped
  • 6 Oreos, cookie only

Step 1 - First melt the chocolate until smooth and liquid, add the coconut oil and stir in and ensure that it is smooth. Place into a small piping bag. Pipe a little chocolate under the peanut butter cup and affix it to the Oreo to make a hat.

Step 2 - Then pipe strips across each strawberry. You want at least three stripes per strawberry. Pipe some chocolate on the top part of the strawberry and add the hat and allow to set.
