And of course the question you were all wanting to ask: how was the Winter menu? Delicious of course and well suited to Winter. I chose the Tuna l'ancienne bageutte which came filled with tuna salad, chopped boiled eggs, sliced tomato and leafy greens. If you love your bread earth shatteringly crunchy and delicious, this is the baguette for you.
Mei gave me some of her Slow Cooked Lamb with potato and spinach hash with fried egg which was an exercise pure comfort food down to the runny egg yolk, softly falling apart lamb and crunchy bread with real butter. This is the kind of item that should come with a woolly blanket to snuggle up in and your favourite movie ;)
I stayed for a little of one of Brasserie Bread's kid's birthday baking classes. Kids learned how to bake various items while the parents have a couple of hours where they can sit and have an Allpress coffee and something good to eat.
Classes cost $250 for up to 10 children and they each get to make and take home things such as chocolate cookies, pizza and gigantic chocolate turtles. Which leaves me to say in an upset whine "Mum...whhyyy do kids get all the fun?!".
