About These Candy Cane Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
3 ingredients are all you will need for the highly snackable, addictive candy cane choc dipped pretzels. Salted pretzels are dipped in creamy white chocolate and then sprinkled with crushed candy canes. These are seriously addictive so just a warning for y'all!
I'll also share with you the two secrets to making these choc dipped pretzels so good!
The reason why these choc dipped pretzels work is because of the combination of sweet, creamy chocolate, minty candy and salt. I swear you'll eat half a dozen in a row while in a zone!
The secret to these Candy Cane Chocolate Dipped Pretzels are:
1 Double dipping the pretzels in the chocolate to give them a really good coating and thickness. This also helps seal in the chocolate from air to keep them crunchy.
2 A light sprinkle of salt on the top at the end!

Ingredients For Candy Cane Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
Pretzels - We want the crunchy chip type of pretzels, not the big soft bready pretzels (although a strong argument could be made for a white chocolate candy cane dipping sauce for the big soft pretzels!)
White Chocolate - One of the two main supermarkets (the one that starts with C) now sells 200g bars of Belgian white chocolate but I find these really hard to work with so I recommend white chocolate bits. I would avoid using choc melts because the flavour of melts isn't as good as the choc bits (FYI choc bits use cocoa butter while melts are a compound chocolate that uses vegetable fat instead). I know I always go on about it but the end taste matters!
Coconut oil - I use extra virgin coconut oil to make the chocolate easier to melt. This is important if you're using a Belgian white chocolate which has a very low melting point.
Candy Canes - We need 4 large full sized and not mini candy canes. Use 7-8 mini ones.
Salt - This helps to balance the sweetness of both the candy canes and the chocolate. I know the pretzels already have salt but I need more! Call me a salty gal.
Tips For Making Candy Cane Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
1 - Always melt white chocolate at a lower temperature than dark or milk chocolate. It has a lower melting temperature so melting it in the microwave at 100% heat will burn it. I melt white chocolate on 50% power.
2 - You can also melt the chocolate in a double boiler. To melt chocolate in a double boiler, take a bowl that will sit snugly in a small saucepan. Fill with 1-2 inches of water making sure that the water doesn't touch the bottom of the bowl (too hot) and bring to a simmer.
3- Note: White chocolate is very soft to deal with so work with one tray at a time especially if it is hot where you are (I'm speaking from experience!).
4 - I always sprinkle these with salt at the end but then again I love salty food. If you're more a sweet-tooth try them with and without and then decide if you want to give these a bit of extra salty love!
5 - I bought these cute little plastic jars at Daiso and they're great for a gift.
6 - Store these choc dipped pretzels in the fridge in an airtight container...Under a lock and key. Yep you'll find yourself sneaking them ;)
7 - This recipe is easy to double, triple or halve. You just have to have the room in your fridge for the trays while they are setting.
Another delicious pretzel recipe to try next are this salted pretzel toffees. Like these, it is highly addictive so comes with a warning!
