Everyone loves mashed potato and there are so many ways to serve it! From Irish Champ mashed potato, Joel Robuchon's legendary mashed potato or pommes puree, a creamy Stilton mash, a melting and cheesy Aligot mash to a lighter version using celeriac and potato!
1 - Irish Champ
Champ is probably close to just a regular mashed potato but it has one ingredient that really makes it pop: spring onions or scallions. Just this one ingredient adds so much flavour to your mash that you may find that you're adding it more often than not!
2 - Joel Robuchon's Legendary Mashed Potatoes
Yes these are the best ever mashed potatoes, yes these are literally half butter. But really these have to be tried at least once in your life (either at L'Atelier Joel Robuchon or at home!). And please excuse the terrible photos!
3 - Creamy Stilton Mashed Potatoes
This version of mashed potato is for those that find regular mash a bit bland. These have the addition of Stilton cheese to give them a real umami flavour. You can make it as mild or strong as you like!
4 - Aligot
This is another French mashed potato dish but this one is not made with copious amounts of butter, rather this one is made with a good melting cheese like provolone. It's sublime and like the other French mash above, must be tried at least once!
5 - Celeriac and Potato Mash
I've given you some lovely rich mashed potato ideas but how about something from the other end of the spectrum? This celeriac and potato mash is lighter on the carbs but is still creamy silky and delicious!
So tell me Dear Reader, what is your favourite way to serve mashed potatoes?
