Ingredients For Gingerbread Spiced Rum Hot Toddy
Hot water - Start with hot or boiling water from a recently boiled kettle.
Honey - Runny honey is ideal for this (not creamed or honeycomb).
Gingerbread spiced rum - I used Captain Morgan's gingerbread spiced rum.
Ginger - Fresh root ginger.
Lemon juice - Fresh lemon juice to balance the honey's sweetness.
Lemon slice - to garnish (optional).

Ingredients Needed
150ml/5fl oz hot water
2 teaspoons honey
40ml/1.7fl oz gingerbread spiced rum
4 slices fresh ginger
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Slice of lemon, twisted
Step-By-Step Instructions
Step 1 MIX - Pour hot water into a glass or mug and swirl to heat up the glass. Discard water and then add fresh hot water (150ml/5fl oz hot water). Stir in honey (2 teaspoons honey), gingerbread spiced rum (40ml/1.7fl oz gingerbread spiced rum), slices of fresh ginger (4 slices fresh ginger) and lemon juice (1 tablespoon lemon juice). Serve while warm.
Step 2 TASTE - Taste for balance. Everyone is different and you may like your hot toddy sweeter or more lemony!
Optional garnish: Make a cut into the slice of lemon (slice of lemon, twisted) to the centre and then twist and add to the drink.
