There's nothing quite like a juicy early Autumn fig and Autumn is also the start of pomegranate season here too. This is a simple 5 minute salad that you can make just for 1 or more people!

2 - Roasted Vegetable Salad

When the weather gets chilly, my consumption of green salad drops and I prefer eating roasted vegetable salads to get my veggie goodness. I often roast up a whole tray of vegetables and keep them in the fridge for snacking. This roasted vegetable salad has golden beetroots and their nutritious leaves and green beans paired with a smoked paprika rolled feta cheese. It's simple and can be served hot or cold!

3 - Slow Roasted Lamb Giouvetsi

This is a recipe from my friend Valentina and is it such a delicious dish made with lamb shanks baked in the oven (try serving this with the beans and pears below!). Spring and Autumn are great seasons to eat lamb and this bakes the lamb shanks with pasta to produce the ultimate one tray bake!

4 - Caramel Beurre Bosc Pears

Beurre Bosc are my favourite pears and I always look out for them as they appear in early Autumn. This is a simple recipe to feed the hordes and involves roasting the pears in the oven with sugar and butter which produces are delicious caramel. Serve with vanilla ice cream!

5 - Slow Cooked Romano Beans

Every time I get Romano beans in my vege box I get very excited. They're a great bean to slow cook as they hold their shape and really take on flavours beautifully. Dare I suggest making this with the slow roasted lamb and caramel pears?

So tell me Dear Reader, what do you look forward to eating in Autumn?

P.S. I know that top 5 posts usually go up on Fridays but I have a special post going up tomorrow Friday the 6th of May that will go up at noon :)
