It's almost Mother's Day and I've got a complete Mother's Day menu for you from a drink to entrees, main, side and dessert. These choices are delicious but also also quite hands off or don't need to be made a la minute so you'll have more time to enjoy company!
I am completely addicted to this salmon ball recipe. If you love cheese balls then you will love a salmon ball,. I give options for hot, cold and tinned salmon too! Plus this is best made ahead of time :)
Nothing says celebration like a martini fountain! And if your mother's Day celebration involves a crowd then the best way to serve cocktails is in this fountain. Plus people can help themselves and make it as dirty as they want or make it a Gibson cocktail (with cocktail onions).
Someone recently told me that this lamb shoulder recipe is the best lamb shoulder she has ever eaten and that made me so happy! This preserved lemon and garlic lamb shoulder is actually from my friend Carla who is a fantastic cook. It is slow cooked in the oven and you don't have to do a lot. Can you sense a theme here (psst: it's easy entertaining! ;))
I always feel like potatoes go so well with lamb and I love Duchess potatoes at Christmas and other similar celebrations because they can be made ahead of time and then baked just before guests arrive. These are super lovely and light with a crispy edge to them (and very addictive, budget on at least 3 per guest).
I don't know anyone that doesn't love Lemon Delicious Pudding and my version is super saucy (because really that's the best bit especially with ice cream). This Lemon Delicious Pudding is also best if it has rested for an hour so you can time your bake to when you want to serve it!
So tell me Dear Reader, what are you making for Mother's Day this year? Which dish would you like to try?
And if you're looking for something extra to bake, subscribe to my Substack as this week's recipe is a divine Strawberry Matcha Japanese Cheesecake!
