Tasmania is where food always seems to arrive with a trail behind it. Around Hobart, Launceston, Bruny Island and the east coast, I found the pleasure was often in seeing how close everything felt to its source: market stalls, producers, cold air, good restaurants and meals where the farm, sea or vineyard never seemed very far away.
