It's pie time this Halloween and I've rounded up my top five spooky pies. There's the eerie Face Pie - turkey and cranberry with a beetroot 'blood' twist; the much‑copied Rhubarb Eye Pies that are as delicious as they are creepy; a Pentagram Pie filled with apple and strawberry for anyone who likes a touch of the occult; my beloved Kraken Pie, complete with a tiny boat; and cheeky little Beetle Pies that look sinister but are surprisingly easy to make. Which one will you try first?
1 - Face Pie
The Halloween season keeps the chills coming with these eerie face pies! Stuffed with turkey and cranberry, these pies are as frightful as they are delicious. The addition of beetroot not only enhances the sweetness but also gives them a blood-red hue. These life-sized human face pies are sure to spook your guests!
2 - Rhubarb Eye Pies
These rhubarb eye pies are the most copied (and stolen!) Halloween recipe on my blog. They're easily made and so effective and taste as delicious as they are creepy.
3 - Pentagram Pies
These Halloween Pentagram pies are shortcrust pastry cases filled with apples and strawberries and topped with a pentagram made of pastry. Just be cautious - you might find yourself tempted by a hint of the dark side!
4 - Kraken Pie
I know that you're not supposed to have favourites but this kraken pie is one of my absolute favourite pies! The tiny boat really completes the whole look of this pie.
5 - Halloween Beetle Pies
It's that spooky time of year my darlings and these Halloween beetle pies look more sinister than they taste! They're incredibly easy to whip up with basic ingredients and no special tools or skills required. This recipe is perfect for those who have a touch of Morticia in them!
So tell me Dear Reader, which pie spooks you the most?
